They do have a few trails but it's not fancy like many big state parks. If you're looking for a clean, well taken care of park this is your place. Multiple feeder paths along the Greenway allow a greater number of residents who live close to the trail to enjoy its relaxing atmosphere and place to exercise. At the trail's two endpoints, adequate parking is available. Additional notes: -The dog-friendly nature is backed up by locations with baggies and waste receptacles. -On the safety side: The trail is not lit up at night and is very dark.

This well maintained facility with public restrooms, and a large covered pavillion also has RC tracks and an airstrip, a dirt course for bmx, and what appears to be a gravity race track. Hence the Hobby Park name. There is loads of parking on the property and access to all the tracks as well as a large open wooded area with trails. We come here to walk and enjoy the open space. Theres a group of RC airplabe folks that I've seen using the airstrip and only a few folks running model cars, otherwise the place is pretty empty. Not sure if the park hosts events but on all of my visits there has never been more than a handful of people. 4.5 Stars a really unique park that appears to be under utilized and definitely worth the time to visit 01168

The trails are paved and run from just passed Robinhood road to Country Club Road. Several benches along the path as well. Small creek runs alongside the entire path. Lots of shade. It is dog friendly with several spots to dump your poop bags. There is also a dog park for both large and small dogs. It is fairly large. There are picnic tables under the gazebo connected to the restrooms. There is a children's play area and the path also runs alongside a property that has beautiful horses. The path is connected to several local communities....lucky them! Definitely a park that you can come exercise or come do some reading, relaxing or even "Work from home"! One note: there's a lady with a neck fan who dominates the small-dog portion of the dog park. And she is there ever. Single. Day. She acts like she runs the place and she has a mean little dog who terrorizes most pups who try to enter. She will lazily call, "oh, he jut wants to play!" As her horrible dog tries to menace your pets, then rolls her eyes and eventually strolls over when the horrid thing gets actively violent. I think she likes having the park to herself, and she gets there super early, so everyone else just sort of avoids her spot. The good news is that she's usually gone by 10 or 11 AM, but she's a menace.

The grounds are beautiful and the walking trails go much further than I had anticipated. There is also a creek in one section of the park, which is a peaceful place to cool off on a summer day and also a great place for kids to explore freely. Religious migration of MORAVIANS from the North Eastern states. And ultimately the MORAVIAN RELIGION hails from Germany from the 1400's. Their church emerged from the Hussite movement, which predated Martin Luther's Reformation by over 50 years. This park honors a long heritage, that laid the foundation that predates both Winston and Salem, now Winston-Salem. This public park hosts several festivals a year. And it hosts outdoors summer concerts that can be held under a open air shelter. Great for families and peoples or all ages and their pets. Nice and flat for strolling. The grounds houses structures and reconstructed structures from the original settlement back to 1753. Several of the structures house demonstrations for the living skills needed back then: food production, black smithing, etc. A modern welcome center has a model reproduction of the center and is a sort of mini museum. The staff are knowledgeable and happy to educate. There are presentations in the center on the history. Nice bathrooms are there also. And a limited # items are available for purchase and I believe funds go to support the park. The main old structure is a house of worship with an organ that dates from very early on. Consider HISTORIC BETHABARA a quicker trip that to say WILLAMSBURG in VA (granted that is larger and more historically important on a National Level) but nonetheless a way to take a quick step back in time. Also consider OLD SALEM a little to the south in Winston-Salem. Another MORIAVIAN SETTLEMENT (really a follow on, since BETHABARA was meant to be temporary whilst SALEM was planned to be permanent). More along the lines of a mini-WILLAMSBURG. With a reopened TAVERN restaurant. And historical sites and demonstrations to experience. And SALEM is the home to the 1st ever official 4TH OF JULY celebration in the Nation. And back to HISTORIC BETHABARA, take a stroll through the vegetable garden housing genetically same fruits and vegetables that were grown back in the 1700's. Salem also has the same type of gardens.
