I was referred to Dr. Tang's office by my primary physician and was skeptical at first with the reviews below, but I decided to go with my doctors recommendation and schedule an appointment with Dr. Tang. When I called to schedule an appointment, the gal that answered the phone was friendly. She offered to send me their new patient forms so that I could complete the necessary documents ahead of time and bring them with me during my first visit. At the time of my visit, I was greeted by the staff as I entered their office. I didn't have to wait long before being called into the exam room to see Dr. Tang. The physicians assistant that took my vitals while I waited for the doctor was very through and friendly. She made small talk while asking the basic questions pertaining to my health history. Shortly after the physician assistant stepped out, Dr. Tang entered and introduced himself. He asked about the nature of my visit as well as other aspects of my daily routine to figure out what may be the cause of my symptoms. The visit did not feel rushed at all and he was happy to answer any questions or concerns I had with the treatment and prescription. Upon leaving, the staff checked to make sure that my visit went well as well as making sure I had my follow up exam scheduled. Overall, my experience with Dr. Tang's office was very pleasant. You don't see Dr Tang, you see his NP. They bill incorrectly for telehealth visits. I had a phone call with his assistant for 10 minutes and was charged for an in person visit at a high level of service for a refil. The place of service was in office. This makes the reimbursement much more than a phone call. I challenged the office manager and she would not fix the billing to a telephone visit and is billing me for more than I owe. read more

Worst office ever !!!! Staff beyond rude and shoud not be front facing with the public A prescription was sent over on a Monday nothing ever filled till the next Monday only to be told that the fax that the prescription was sent to they never check !!!! No vitals were taken until after I had seen the doctor , never once did the doctor examine me only asked questions!!! When I called to speak with office manager she refused to speak to me !!! Wish I would have checked here first. This doctor is TERRIBLE and his staff is extremely rude to seniors. My husband has serious issues yet when I called for help I was told to take him to the ER because they were "to busy!" Instead of asking and listening to what was going on. Another encounter had Tangs nurse calling and literally yelling at me then hanging up because she didnt like what she read in a report sent by the insurance complaining about Tang. They NEVER ask how he is but focused on the cost instead. Disgusting way to run a doctors office IMHO. read more

This pos and his NP are a bunch of scammers . They diagnosed my mom with out even seeing the dr with Parkinson's disease. She saw another neurologist that said Dr. Tang had no idea what he was even talking about. The absolute worst doctors office I've ever been to. His front staff Maria, Emily and Takita need to find other jobs. The fact that he has these girls "running" the front of his office is mind blowing. Every time I've asked to talk to the doctor he is "out for the week" they have messed up my orders continuously and then blame everyone else for it. The imaging center even said they were a joke. I ended up fixing the problem with my insurance myself two hours later so I could still do my scan. He wouldn't even do a peer to peer review with my primary care physician. His lovely front staff said to my doctor that he would never do that. They are rude, dismissive and inept. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

Do not go to this doctor. The worst staff you will ever deal with. They are money sucking people and the quality of care is just terrible. This office needs to close and this staff need to get some help and training on how to deal with patients. From all the other reviews you can see it is the same story all over again. I wish I saw the reviews before I went to this doctor. I had had Headaches for about a year every time I bent over and had 1st thought it was Post-Nasal Headaches or Glasses prescription or Brain Tumor or something so I got new Glasses, MRI scans, etc and finally came to you as referred by ENT Physician Dr Warham. After I told you I lifted weights for 35 years and now at Age 72 that I held my breath as I Bench Pressed, you thought I had CSF Leaks into my brain causing the headaches. You suggested I stop lifting weights and to exhale if I lifted stuff.Holy Cow - after about a month after stopping lifting, my headaches miraculously disappeared!I have started lifting weights again a couple of weeks ago but I have been careful about making sure I am exhaling properly If I experience any Headaches again, I now know the cause.I just wanted to give you some feedback and REALLY "Thank You" for your Spot-on Analysis.Thank you so much! read more

Wow, do not go here whatever you do!!! Don't get me wrong, Dr. Tang is an excellent doctor. Very thorough, knows his stuff, great bedside manner. But, when it comes to dealing with patient issues, he leaves it up to his staff, and lets just say he has not hired well. I went in for a procedure to have botox injections in my arm. On my follow up visit, I was feeling much better. I was told that if I needed the second series of injections that I should contact them to schedule an appointment, but since I still felt fine, I did not see the need for the procedure again. Unfortunately, they did, WITHOUT TELLING ME, so they ordered the botox through my pharmacy, then they never called me to let me know or to ask if I was going to make an appointment. So they stocked their own little pharmacy in house on my money that I was billed. I tried to get the order canceled, but since it was delivered to the doctor already, it was too late. Now, by the time I was finding this out, my pharmacy called me asking me to authorize more botox to them again?!?! Seriously. No phone call to me yet, so I call the pharmacy and tell them no way. Then Dr. Tang's office finally calls and asks me to come in, but when I brought up the first issue of botox, they denied it, and then even denied that they had just requested it again, yet they had to call the pharmacy to cancel it themselves too. I tried to contact the doctor to discuss this, but he won't talk to patients. Obviously he feels he is too important for that. I was forced to speak with his office manager who tried to coerce me into having the injections done, even though my arm feels fine. I told her I just want them to pay me for the medication since I was out $100, but she badgered me for a few minutes trying to get me to have a procedure that I didn't need, and she is not even a doctor. Can't wait for the AMA to hear about that. Finally, she agree to pay me the $100 they owed me if I came to their office in two days and signed a letter confirming I have no interest in the botox anymore. I agreed and showed up on time as requested and guess what. There was no letter waiting for me and the office manager was not in the office, she was running late and had the nerve to ask me to wait for 20-30 minutes for her to get there. You have got to be kidding me. Again, Dr. Tang refused to speak with me, still. Now, I am at work and I receive phone call from again arguing with me about this situation. I tell them I cannot discuss this now since I am at work and hang up and she call me back and says they will no longer pay me back. So now they are in possession of stolen goods. I am torn as to whether I should call the police, just sue him, or what. But if you are looking for a Neurologist, unless he fires his entire staff (except Betty - she was very nice) you will not ever get help because they are not interested in helping anyone, they just want your money, and it appears that Dr. Tang may be the same way if he refuses to speak with his patients. He made thousands of dollars off of my treatments, the least he could do is give me 5 minutes of his time. This office is a nightmare - steer clear. read more

I was sad to see Dr. Tang did not have good reviews, but I am leaving off one star for his staff. I guess it depends on what condition you see him for. I went to Dr. Tang in 2010. He was wonderful, warm, intelligent, caring and just amazing and helped me with my diagnosis greatly. I was also fighting cancer at the time. Not long after, he himself was diagnosed with cancer and he took some time off and I went to Dr. Murthy, also wonderful, but now retired. I do agree on the staff but that was in 2010 and sounds like that has not changed. Staff in general is a problem and there is no excuse for them to not be warm, compassionate and professional because I have worked at a doctor office who treated similar cases of pain and disease and people are scared, nervous and stressed when they come to the doctors so a caring and positive staff is almost as important as the doctor themselves. read more

My wife had Dr. Tang as her neurologist. I'm not an expert at judging the skills of neurologist but he seems highly knowledgeable and competent. I do know that he has an excellent bedside manner. He explains things well and listened carefully to our questions and he answered them thoughtfully and professionally. I would recommend him. read more

I had made an appointment for my daughter to see Dr. Tang for a concussion in his Thousand Oaks office- they gave me another doctor without even telling me. I must have called him Dr.Tang 3-4 times during the visit and he never corrected me. I found out after the appointment that they gave me Dr. Tata. Dr. Tata knew nothing about a Return to Learn Protocol and that is imperative for any student to have when adjusting back to school after a concussion. My 12 year old daughter even said, "Mom, that doctor won't even listen to you." I'm writing this because I don't want any child/patient to ever going through what we did. When I called their office to discuss this the very next day- the lady who answered the phone told me she'd tell the office manager and she'd have her call me. 2 weeks later- no call. SO disappointing! Thank God for Children's Hospital and their doctor's with tons of expertise. I will never step foot in that office again. read more

Dr. Tang is the nicest most compassionate Dr I have met in awhile. The problem is his staff. They are TERRIBLE!! They will lie to cover up their ineptitude and lack of caring. If you want a great dr and can get past dealing with dishonest and rude office staff this is the place for you. Even my pharmacist says the staff is rude and uncaring. Personally I will forgo my medicine for Parkinson's disease to avoid ever talking to his unprofessional staff again. Five phone calls to were made to try to resolve a prescription problem. I'm revising my previous review about feeling sorry for Dr. Tang. I called the office to go back and let Dr. Tang know how rude his staff was to me and when I gave Betty my name, she put me on hold for 10 minutes before the office manager Mimi picked up. Mimi said right away, she would be happy to send my medical record to any other office for me, and said the staff is the same at the T.O. office and the Simi office, so I would have to deal with Betty either way. I told her I was fine with that and she finally relented and made me and appointment for August 11, 2015. I took copies of previous Yelp reviews and a letter to Dr. Tang to inform him of how unprofessional and rude his staff is to his patients. Dr. Tang basically said, he is so busy with other projects that his staff basically runs his office and I felt he really didn't care about how his staff treats the patients. As I was leaving, I was told that I had not met my deductible for my insurance for the year yet, and had to pay 96.00 for my office visit in advance. I told them that there was some mistake and that I knew for sure I had already met my deductible for the year and Sandra said the insurance department was sure I hadn't. Apparently Dr. Tang's insurance department doesn't know what they are doing either, because when I returned home, I called my insurance plan and they said I had in fact met my annual deductible and my co-pay should have only been, $9.60, not the $96.00 they made me pay. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!!! THE OFFICE STAFF IS RUDE, AND DR. TANG IS TOO BUSY DOING OTHER THINGS TO CARE AT ALL! I'm looking forward to getting a refund for my over payment in the near future. I have had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Tang. If you read the bad reviews, the complaints are centered around the staff and the insurance companies. You are in great hands with Dr. Tang - I am a local family practice physician, 25 years experience, and Dr Tang, Dr Label and Dr Kim, amongst others, are excellent, top notch. If you want to blame somebody please blame the insurance companies who dictate the level of care you can get. Also, my patients and friends and family have had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Tang and the local neurologists. Dr. Tang is wonderful. He is a good as a doctor can get. My aunt sees him and she loves how caring he is.

Completely agree with all the reviews regarding the staff. Dr. Tang is a fantastic doctor and helped me solve some problems that no one else could, but the staff, which he apparently leaves all patient care decision making to, are just horrible. They're concerned more with collecting money than they are with their patient's well being. I just had a prescription renewal withheld from me over a $25 appointment cancellation fee because I had the audacity to not come to their office when I came down with the flu the day before an appointment (left them a voicemail letting them know). I was told by Dr. Tang not to stop this medication (have been on it for months) without his consultation and that when I do stop it needs to be a gradual reduction to prevent side effects (read the same thing online as well). Now I'm left with no medicine and the only way I can contact Dr. Tang is by waiting until the next available appointment, more than a week away. So much for that.. Again, great doctor and I'm going to miss him, but I need to be seen at an office that actually gives a damn about its patients. read more

I found Dr. Tang to be personable and he took time to explain his diagnosis and follow-up treatment, however, his office staff does not seem to be helpful or knowledgeable. I discontinue using him as my doctor because of his front office staff. I went to both of his offices. The Thousand Oak office was slow in providing the information and the connection to the follow up doctor that Dr. Tang recommended. His Simi Valley office could not help with explaining the type of lab work that they wanted. In fact when I showed up for my MRI appointment, I was told that it couldn't be done because I had to have lab work done first. This was not explained nor scheduled, so I lost a full day and had to go to one of my other doctors to get the lab work explained and corrected. I also was charged for missing an appointment that also was not clearly scheduled. When I had a follow up appointment, I was told on the phone that I owed money. When I told the person on the phone that I had never received a bill, she said she didn't know anything about it and she couldn't help me. For me that was the last straw.
