I started at Ultimate Pain Management in 2019 when I moved to Simi Valley. I have been going every month and many times 2 times a month. The staff and Dr. Kumar is first class and extremely efficient. Wait, times are non-existent. I have a lot of issues, and Dr. Kumar always listens and recommends the conservative approach. He doesn't push anything, and he always allowed me to do what is right for my situation. Unfortunately, I am moving out of state and can no longer go to Dr. Kumar. I will miss Dr Kumar, his staff, and, more importantly, the excellent care that I have received for the last 4 years. Visited this doctor on two occasions. Refused to prescribe a low level sleep med I've been taking for 18 years. He advised I go and lie to a psychiatrist to get a sleeping med because I actually have stress and insomnia. On each visit, he failed to address my issues and walked out when HE was done talking. And yes, the office IS like a fast food restaurant ... packed and people moving through rapidly. I will never go back to this doctor as his quality of care is absolutely non-existent read more

I have been coming to Dr. Kumar now for about 3-4 years and I have nothing but positive things to say about him. I go to their office that is located in Santa Clarita. He is always super friendly and even remembers small details about myself and my daily life. It is always nice when you do not feel like your regular doctor sees you as a total stranger. The office has always been extremely good to me, especially when it comes to being late to appointments or having to reschedule one (which I very much appreciate). I would certainly recommend Dr. Kumar, and I have before, to anyone who is in the market for a good pain management doctor...or if you are trying to find a doctor who prescribes Suboxone to help you get off of opiates (which was why I went to him). I just now realized that I made it sound like I call in all the time late. Ha obviously no office would be okay with that. So if i could put a NO STARS, i would, first of all let me start with saying i have been suffering from chronic lower back pain for over ten years, have been on and off opiates. I have always been taken care of as far as epidural, facet, and sac region injections with great results. I went to this dr due to my dr having insurance coverage issues. First of all he was very quick to insult me on the assumption that i was ONLY there for opiate refill, take into account this was a tuesday and my refill was till thursday. He treated me like i was a drug addict or something, calling me a lier for some reason. Not even asking if i had ENOUGH meds till actually friday. He not ONCE asked me about my lower back , history, pain, nothing at all whatsoever!!! I was dumbfounded and extremely agitated, since this was supposed to be my introduction visit!! He preceded to calling me a lier, after i kept insisting that i wasn't just there for meds, i mean people who understand what lower back pain does to one's ability to function, understand that meds are a lifesaver and are obviously part of a good treatment plan! So he said to me you know what this isnt going to work and asked me to leave!!! again not even asking me nothing about my condition, i couldnt beleive this old prick, its ovbious hes just a hustler and has no concern on one's condition. I felt he judged me by the way i looked, having no hair and covered in tattoos. He would keep staring at my arms, and like i said , going straight to asking me bout meds without having any compassion or interest in my chronic lower back pain!!! Horrible experience, no compassion, he doesn't care, and is a judgmental person, but hey KARMA is real, cant even believe hes been around 40 plus years!!!! read more

After trying over a month to be called back for an apt. I was referred by a physician When I went for my consultation. The office was packed. People were in and out like a fast food joint! When I was called in. The first thing a nurse did a drug test swab. What! Why? Than the Dr walked in No introduction. No hello. Nothing. Did not even open my chart. I proceeded to attempt to explain why I was revered (he was sent a letter from my MD). He stopped me and said. (Very unprofessional very rude. Go back to your Dr. I can't help you. I asked him why? And he walked out of the room and told the receptionist no follow up. I honestly think he confused me with someone else. What a nasty. Miserably. Unprofessional human being. How he calls himself a physician. I wouldn't let him examine my dog! Stay away. He's only interested in money and the wife is the driving force behind him. read more

I was recommended to Dr. Kumar by a relative. I'm so glad I was able to see him. He has performed many Spinal injections for me, in addition to several Radiofrequency Ablasions. Dr. Devinder Kumar is the worst. I found him to be most unsympathetic and impatient. When I first visited him for management of intense pain, he was cold and indifferent to my suffering, wanting more to hustle in the next patient than deal with my questions and concerns. He runs his office like a mill and seems more interested in quick turn-around for maximum billing. I suffer from pain due to nerve damage from gunshot wounds sustained a few years ago. On my first visit to Dr. Kumar, he struck me as very terse and ambivalent. He said he would not even consider wounds from several years back. Huh? He simply authorized an MRI and rushed away to the next patient. On my second visit to Dr. Kumar, he simply told me he was forwarding the MRI report to a neurological specialist. There was absolutely no reason for me to come in for that appointment. There was no treatment, no advice, only a $60 co-payment. I could have been notified of the referral to another specialist by mail, which has been the procedure with every other doctor in the past. Just a rip off, pure and simple. The neurological specialist confirmed my pain was due to the original gunshot wounds, contradicting Kumar's assumption that the pain had to be caused by something new. A second opinion also contradicted Kumar's opinion. Among physicians, there are healers and there are money-grubbing quacks. Devinder Kumar is the worst example of the latter. Too bad a zero rating is not available. read more

Dr Kumar is very caring, considerate and has compassion for his patients. He is honest, direct and realistic. He is interested in hearing about alternative care for pain and what kind of results are achieved. He doesn't always agree with the alternative methods, therapies or theories, but he is always interested in what is successful to manage pain. The office staff are polite, patient and personable. They do their best to help out when appointments need to be moved. Just a few tips/Word of advice. 1. the parking lot is limited and the businesses in the other units will tow your car so make sure to park in designated spots or in back where the spots are blank. 2. If your insurance changes in any way, they will need time to set everything back up for you. Make sure to give them about two weeks or even a month if you can. read more

I stopped going to this doctor recently after about 9 months of treatment and very little progress. Once they found out my insurance covers the pain shots, that's pretty much all they wanted to do, and the shots helped me very little. (My insurance was billed $14k per shot.) My pain was not improving and yet he kept wanting to lessen my pain medication. I understand the need to manage the addiction aspect of pain meds, but if you're still in pain and not improving, why would you be expected to decrease the meds? Anyway, I hold no bad feelings but I just felt like we were not making any progress so I am moving on. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Kumar in his Valencia office since he opened it. I followed him from another office that he use to work at with another Dr. who was very rude. It was 100% better that he left and went in his own. I have gone through numerous injections with Dr. Kumar some my insurance would not pay for anesthetic so he's done injections on me with no anesthetic and I could not feel anything he did an awesome job. After I had my back surgery he came into the hospital every day to do follow up care even though he was not the surgeon. In the past two years my son has left for the military and we've noticed some of my medical problems have deteriorated he has sent me to the appropriate doctors but he has continued to be my pain management doctor and will continue to be my pain management doctor. If I have another doctor that is going to be performing surgery or a procedure on me Dr. Kumar calms my nerves even though he is not the doctor that will be doing the procedure. I do not live close to his Valencia or his Simi Valley office I drive at least 45 minutes to get to the Valencia office to be seen. His office staff is very diligent in what they do and they are very good if you need to make a last-minute cancellation they will try to get you in as soon as the next possible appointment so you don't have to miss any of your medications. In approximately the 10 years that I have been with Dr. Kumar I have never had problems with him or his staff and now that he is at his own office it is 1000 times better. read more

I have been going to Dr. Kumar for several years after being treated by my medical doctor for my back pain. After several months of treatment and little to no relief, he sent me for an MRI, of my spine to find that I have DDD in the cervical all the way down my spine. I was then referred to Dr. Kumar where I brought my MRI results for him to read. It was after my first visit with Dr. Kumar that I was able to work a full day.
