I am 32 years old at the time I visit. I had symptoms similar to TIA. I couldn't bare to look at the light for the EEG awake test because it was too painful, that is not normal. He discounted that fact and told me "there is nothing wrong" Remember. I tell him that I have constant numbness on my extremities(legs, arms, head). The numbness is larger the farther out you go from my center. he tells me at the end there is nothing wrong with me and "I don't do this kinda of thing". Meaning he doesn't want to help me fine the problem. That's what his whole business is, the bill was for 1300$ with my "best insurance"(blue shield gold)! I paid 80$ through my insurance and they later sent me mail for another year to pay 20$ more. This is a slap in the face. Why would I pay you money if you didn't help me. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Kim for about 5 years and at first I wasn't sure because I came from a westside migraine practice that is nationally recognized for migraines and has a standard protocol and is a lot more rigorous in diagnosing and treating headache disorders. My migraines weren't as bad anymore and I got sick of driving so far so I wanted a local doctor so I tried Dr. Kim and I've been happy. My migraines have gotten better and then worse, and the same cycle has repeated and Dr. Kim has supported me in trying different and new treatments. I also have other diseases that complicates my migraine treatment and he is very mindful to make sure that the medicine he gives me won't interact. I'm glad to have found him. read more

Brought in my aunt who's 87 years old to be checked for possible dementia. Clearly asked the office up front if they would accept what Medicare pays them in full and not come after her for more money They said no problem. Now 3 months later they're sending bills to her $143 when we call them up they go oh no we have notes here saying we explain to you about Medicare, which is a lie. At the same time the doctor was very rude and seemed upset that she couldn't speak English and he had to have a spanish-speaking interpreter in there. Originally had some billing issues with the office that have been resolved. *see update * the girl on the phone I paid today was very nice. It was not her fault, she's just following up for a mistake made by the office in the past. She was polite and apologetic. Update: the office reached out to me and was very polite and helped fix the situation. Things happen, and when people make an attempt to fix things, I respect that. Overall, between the doctor visit and the way the front office helped fix the situation and apologized, I can recommend this office. It's a clean, modern office and the doctor was informative and friendly. I hate giving less than stellar reviews since it's people's livelihood, so I am happy to have left this experience on a good note. Nice people who care about people! read more

Dr Kim is great Neurologist! He listens to your concerns and is very kind and patient with you. Not trying to rush you out of the visit to get to next case. The staff was equally accommodating and went above there normal routine to get my MRI done as soon as possible with the place of my choice! I really recommend Dr. Kim. I was not impressed. Office staff was not the nicest, more concerned about the co-pay than anything else. I waited a long time to see the doctor, which I think is so disrespectful. My time is just as important. It would be worth it if Dr. Kim was fabulous; he's not. I felt I was rushed and that the exam was not very thorough. I've been working for doctors for 40 years now. I know what to expect when I walk into an office and how patients should be treated. Meeting Dr. Kim for the first time, I was extremely disappointed. He didn't introduce himself when he came into the room and would not give me eye contact. He sat down with his laptop and proceeded to explain my MRI to me. I could barely hear him and he didn't bother to even bring it close enough for me to see what he was pointing to on the screen. He mumbled a few things and never gave me a clear concise answer to what I was seeing him for. ZERO bedside manner, and never smiled once. I felt like I was wasting his time. I left there with more questions then answers and I was really upset by that. I asked him what I should do for my condition and he shrugged his shoulders and said for me to return to the doctor that referred me. The doctors I work for are extremely professional and give each and every patient their full attention and treat their condition accordingly. So, with all this being said, I would never refer anyone to him nor will I ever go back. If you read this Dr. Kim, please take into consideration that patients need your time with them to be a pleasant one, smile, and please introduce yourself. read more

Referred by an ENT for my daughters head injury ( with preferred PPO insurance Anthem Blue Cross) requesting a diagnostic evaluation (CT OR MRI OR EEG) to see internally if there is any issues that could be the cause of frequent headaches. He entered the room and had no eye contact and did not introduce himself to us - first sign of odd bedside manner. He then only looked at the documents we filled out before he proceeded to completed a visual assessment of her eyes, reflexes and balance. His demeanor was not welcoming. We discussed the 3 options and he offered an MRI which I would have accepted but he was unwilling to complete the school documentation to return to school/athletics. It makes no sense to hire a healthcare provider to practice their medical opinion on my child, who is not a partner in caring for the whole patient. To be willing to charge for an MRI but not document the options for return to norma activity as a partnership was disappointing so we left and will seek another practicing opinion who is invested in true quality patient care. Anyone can bill for service but it takes a true professional to care for patients. He could have even referred us to a headache specialist or concussion specialist but was not forthright in providing any information.... It was a waste of our time NEXT! read more

I was sent to Dr. Kim for an nerve conduction study at his Thousand Oaks office. The referring physician was new to me was is Dr. Kim. It appeared that many local physicians use Dr. Kim for these one an done studies. I had to fill out copious amounts of documents for a one time study. It was annoying. Dr. Kim was cold, disinterested and could care about me. I had been in an accident and hospitalized about 2 weeks before the appointment and tried to get some information prior to the test from the office about how much movement would be required by me as I was in serious pain when moving. This was a fruitless endevour. Dr. Kim never made eye contact, was impatient by my inability to change body positions quickly and the electric shocks exhausted me. This was my third study of this kind but the other two were from my neck to fingers. I was prepared for a moderate to high level of disconfort. The test took over 45 minutes and at the 30 minute marker, I started to cry. I couldn't control it. The only thing Dr. Kim asked me was did I need a tissue. I understand he is not my physician just someone doing a service for another physician and I wouldn't be seeing him again. However, that is no reason to treat me like a robot without any feelings. read more
