1 year postop. Still healing nicely.

One year post op to the day. Dr Moza did a wonderful job. He is truly professional at what he does. Unfortunately, I did not get the results I was hoping for, however that has nothing to do with him, nor his staff who were all excellent and the most caring group of doctors, nurses and anesthesiologist.

This is a photo of my husband 24 hours after a major surgery performed by a GREAT doctor, Dr. Kapil Moza. My 64 year old husband had not one, but TWO prior failed surgeries that were not performed by him. Dr. Moza performed a L4-5 fusion with screws, rods and EXPANDABLE CAGE. He removed two synovial cysts and decompressed the spinal canal and nerve roots and removed scar and then stabilized with hardware. Before you decide on a doctor for such an invasive surgery, I strongly recommend that you schedule a visit with Dr. Moza. He is by far the best of the best!

My husband was in excruciating pain from his neck down his left arm. Dr Moza figured out what he needed and placed 2 artificial discs (Mobi-C) to his neck and removed a large fragment of a disc that was pressing on his nerve. Big thanks to: Dr Kapil Moza (Neurosurgeon) Dr. Nikhil Pandya (Anesthesiologist) Octavio Calderon (Neuromonitoring) Dr. Shariar Ghodsian (Post Op Recovery MD) Nichole Nishizaki, RN Katie Chetwynd, CST/Director of Operation

Feeling great Dr. Moza you are the man thanks again

Thanks to Dr. Virella, my debilitating back pain is now completely gone!!!…read more Having had chronic lower back issues for decades, I had previously tried chiropractic care, acupuncture, physical therapy, and epidural shots to alleviate the pain. While some of these treatments temporarily helped me, the pain kept returning until it became unbearable. After watching my friend recover brilliantly from her back surgery performed by Dr. Virella, I bit the bullet and scheduled my own two level lumbar laminectomy last February. I'm beyond thrilled with the results, and wish I had scheduled the surgery sooner! Mina, Dr. Virella's amazing office manager, effortlessly steered me through all the necessary paperwork, helped me prepare for my recovery, and calmly answered zillions of questions. (Sorry Mina!) Dr. Virella and the other staff who were involved with my surgery spent a lot of individual time with me before the surgery, explaining what their roles were, and what exactly was going to happen. They were all so kind and reassuring, I wasn't nervous at all before the procedure. The first few days post surgery were quite painful, but I was stunned that I no longer needed any pain medication at all after just six days--not even Tylenol. I continued to improve daily, and my recuperation really ramped up when I started physical therapy. After 12 weeks of P.T., I felt stable enough to begin riding my horses, and felt strong enough to hike with my three big dogs. It feels so amazing to have my active life back again! I couldn't be more satisfied with this surgery, and owe the success to Dr. Virella. I'd highly recommend this skillful surgeon and his wonderful staff to anyone who wants to alleviate their back pain once and for all.

I did shots in the spine, physical therapy. Nothing helped. I went to Dr Virella with my MRI video. He looked at it and explained it all to me. I said can you fix my problem, He said yes. I proceeded to have him do a laminectomy on my spine. I couldn't be happier with the results. I have nothing but praise for this man. I have been pain free since. Thank You very much Dr Virella. I went in with several situations that needed attention and had asked for a full body exam, too. I think the total amount of time he spent was maybe 5 or 6 minutes. TOTAL. Got out his liquid nitrogen squirt gun and squirted a bunch of growths I didn't like (and -- to his credit -- a few he noticed that HE didn't like), and then glanced at my front and back (maybe ¾ of a second each side) and we were through. The places he was supposed to have gotten rid of came back within 10 days. He forgot to look at two places mentioned, and he couldn't find one lump so he said he'd find it next time (in four months supposedly). He thought he knew what it was, but didn't take the time to find it. Not saying he doesn't have the credentials or that he doesn't kow his stuff, but he is so fast and quietly cavalier, that even if he actually is able to do a thorough job (which he wasn't), it had to have been "sloppy" at best. Certainly he didn't leave this patient thinking he really took his work seriously -- but hey! When you're the best, does anyone even question? Look at his website. If you're really THAT good,do you really need to advertise like that? Staff was professional.

I credit her naturopathic guidance (including recommendations for high-quality supplements and integrative strategies) with transformative changes in my overall health. Since following her recommendations, I've experienced *substantial* improvements in my sleep, digestion, and hair growth. These changes were night and day, not subtle! (which was what I was initially expecting) Reading through some of the negative reviews here, I felt it was important to offer a different perspective. I have never found Dr. Stiles Green to be rude or unkind. She can be direct, sure, but directness is not harsh/cruel. In fact, I've always found her to be compassionate, thoughtful, and well-informed. In my experience, she demonstrates a strong ethical compass and an unwillingness to indulge pseudoscience, particularly when it comes to something as serious as cancer. That kind of integrity is something I respect deeply, especially as someone who has actually *gone through* cancer treatment. Some reviewers seem disappointed that she wouldn't offer naturopathic treatment *instead of* standard chemo. To me, that reflects a patient's misunderstanding of what good integrative care actually is. No ethical doctor (naturopathic or otherwise) should support treating cancer without standard oncology care, especially in cases where chemotherapy is lifesaving. The fact that Dr. Stiles Green draws a hard line when it comes to evidence-based treatment should be seen as a strength, NOT as a failure. In my cancer support group, the unfortunate reality is that people who refused chemo in favor of "natural-only" paths did not survive. That is NOT something to romanticize. I get it that communication styles matter, and not every doc is the right fit for every person. But it's worth telling the difference between a physician who is "not fake nice" and one who is truly unkind. And yet, in my experience, Dr. Stiles Green is neither cold nor dismissive. She simply doesn't sugarcoat, but she is also very thoughtful and caring. If you value clarity, thoroughness, and care rooted in both science and holistic insight, I think you'll find her to be exceptional. Because of her, my quality of life significantly improved during treatment and after treatment--all while being supportive of the standard care I received at UCLA.
