His website is full of pompous claims about how many skin cancers he's detected and how he's the best of the best. I went in with several situations that needed attention and had asked for a full body exam, too. I think the total amount of time he spent was maybe 5 or 6 minutes. TOTAL. Got out his liquid nitrogen squirt gun and squirted a bunch of growths I didn't like (and -- to his credit -- a few he noticed that HE didn't like), and then glanced at my front and back (maybe ¾ of a second each side) and we were through. The places he was supposed to have gotten rid of came back within 10 days. He forgot to look at two places mentioned, and he couldn't find one lump so he said he'd find it next time (in four months supposedly). He thought he knew what it was, but didn't take the time to find it. Not saying he doesn't have the credentials or that he doesn't kow his stuff, but he is so fast and quietly cavalier, that even if he actually is able to do a thorough job (which he wasn't), it had to have been "sloppy" at best. Certainly he didn't leave this patient thinking he really took his work seriously -- but hey! When you're the best, does anyone even question? Look at his website. Two stars for being good at annual skin exams Worst experience ever w anything beyond that. Called prior to having some moles removed to make sure that they were covered by my insurance in the front desk girl said yes $575 later I was charged for every single one of these removals but the worst part is that I wasn't even charged for the removal I was charged for the in-house biopsy they performed, which I never asked them to do. I would not go here. I spoke with my insurance and they said the way that they build it was very sketchy because they built them twice so messed up. read more

OMG, I got shingles back in October !! Not fun AT ALL ... but I knew something was wrong, so I did my Yelp search for dermatologists near me, and I liked what I read about this place. Dr. Abrishami's practice had recently moved to this new location on Chesebro, and in fact, the paint was still wet when I went to my first appt. I met with "Chu" (P.A.), and she was wonderful. Kind, caring, reassuring, she helped me gain almost immediate relief from this very painful and itchy skin condition, and she insisted upon several follow-up visits until she was comfortable with my improvement. Even though the appts. are very efficiently run, she takes time, listens to my concerns, answers all questions. I always felt comforted by her care. The front office staff is also very nice and efficient. It's a very well-run office. I also learned I still need to get the shingles vaccine, which is something I've avoided... Best dermatologist I have had the pleasure of being a patient of. Dr A has biopsied and diagnosed multiple melanomas for me over the past 8 years and has removed quite a few of them with MOHS or margins surgery. He is a perfectionist, has a wide knowledge and experience, does fantastic suturing so he gets super fine scars that are hardly noticeable, and he is gentle and compassionate during surgery. His staff are all welcoming to a clinic that looks like a 5* spa, and his nurses are all friendly and helpful. If you suffer from skin cancer, or any other dermatological issue I would definitely recommend Dr A 100%. There is a reason he keeps winning all the Best Doctor of the Year plaques in his surgery! Beware !!!! First Surgery (Date): Dr. [Doctor's Name] stitched the wound but did not remove all the calcification. The wound reopened shortly after. Follow-up (Date): The physician assistant (PA) recommended reopening the wound to remove the remaining calcification. However, Dr. [Doctor's Name] chose to restitch it, leading to an infection and extreme pain. Despite the infection, I was not prescribed pain medication and had to insist on antibiotics at a subsequent appointment. Second Surgery (Date): Dr. [Doctor's Name] attempted to remove the calcification but missed some again. The wound was stitched excessively, causing it to bleed for an hour post-surgery. The stitches were left in for three weeks, despite the standard practice of one week, resulting in the wound reopening. Further Follow-up (Date): Dr. [Doctor's Name] hurriedly instructed the PA to restitch the wound without proper examination, leading to further complications and no resolution. Final Decision (Date): The doctor advised waiting another three weeks for the wound to heal on its own, which was not a satisfactory solution given the ongoing issues. Impact on Health These repeated procedures and lack of proper care resulted in prolonged pain, multiple infections, and considerable distress. The doctor's failure to remove all calcification initially and inadequate postoperative care significantly delayed my recovery. Resolution I sought a second opinion from Dr. [New Doctor's Name], who took the time to remove all calcification meticulously. The wound was stitched once with special non-allergic sutures, left in for one week, and I was prescribed peptides inhalers, CBD creams, and nerve pain medication. This treatment led to a successful recovery without further complications. Assessment of Standard of Care Based on my experience, I believe Dr. [Doctor's Name] did not meet the standard of care for the following reasons: Incomplete Calcification Removal: Proper surgical technique was not employed to ensure all calcification was removed, leading to repeated wound reopening and infections. Do not use them and find someone else!! I went one time due to having Covid back in May and then postpartum a month later. I was losing my hair and wanted a solution. I went once. I was told by their office manager that I would only be charged $70 for the visit that insurance didn't cover. I saw the dr for maybe 5 minutes. She told me to take Nutrofol and buy this stuff they make with Rogain in it for $80. I did exactly that. 3 weeks after my visit I was charged another $180. I called immediately and they said oh yeah that's what the insurance didn't cover on top of the $70. I said please take my credit card off file and please do not charge it again. They never let me know in the first place. Today they charged me another $90. I called saying I asked that my credit card was off file and why did they charge me again?? She said I have no idea and I do see the notes to take your credit card off file. She then said someone would call me by the end of the day. I still haven't received a call on why this happened. So for one visit that they said would be $70, cost us around $400 for one visit and I have had no results! They ask for your credit card on the first visit and don't tell you they will randomly keep charging you. read more

Nice doctor, but most expensive I have ever been to. Went in for the smallest thing (somethin you can literally purchase off the counter) and was billed as if it was surgery. Even after months of visiting them, I received another bill and called asking questions. The receptionist at their office made me call the "new accounting office" and so I did but the accounting lady had no file on me and told me to contact the office again. Very unorganized and I feel scammed to have to pay for things they don't even have records for. I was looking for a new dermatologist in the Agoura Hills area. I was referred to Dr. Pakula but she isn't taking new patients. But her partner, Dr. Abrishami, is. Lucky break, because I'm really happy with him. His office is conveniently located near the intersection of Kanan and the 101. Very nice office, the building is either new or has just undergone extensive remodeling. The ladies at the reception desk were pleasant and the surroundings relaxing. I was shown into the exam room and was greeted by a very nice gal named Veronica. I immediately felt comfortable speaking with her. Once she got all the mandatory questions out of the way and excused herself, the doctor came in almost immediately. No waiting! Dr. Abrishami is cool. He really seems to know his stuff and seems confident in his knowledge. I'm overweight and was nervous about the skin check (bra and panties only!) but he gave no indication that it was a problem for him. He's a doctor, he's probably seen it all! He looked at my areas of concern, eased my mind where appropriate and pointed out one area that needs further attention. I feel confident he knows his stuff. Ladies, here's what you need to know if you get a skin check: 1. wear matching underwear. 2. shave (he looks under your arms and on your legs). 3. pedicure (he looks at your feet and between your toes). I was unprepared, I hope my self-deprecating sense of humor distracted him from my disarray! Fantastic Dermatologist! First of all Dr. Abrishami is super smart, not affected, patient and amiable. His staff are all super pro, friendly and his practice is in a brand new building so it could not be nicer or cleaner. It is also super conveniently located off the Kanan exit from the 101. I have seen him now three times. First for a check up where he did an impressively thorough exam of my skin and diagnosed really pesky dandruff, an unsightly rash and removed two small growths from my leg and hip. He biopsied both and I received a very cheerful follow up with the results when they were ready less than a week later. I had to make a follow up appointment to have a really bothersome sebaceous cyst removed. Both prescriptions he gave me for the dandruff and rash are working very well. For my second appointment again Dr. Abrishami was on time, cheerful and ready to go. I experienced zero pain during the cyst removal procedure, zero issues with the four stitches I received and again a cheerful follow up call from his staff letting me know that the cyst was benign. My third visit to have the stitches removed also was a great experience. So, if you are looking for a Dermatologist it's your lucky day because your search has successfully guided you here.
