I, again, ordered thru uber eats. This time my adventures took me to indulge in Indian food. I had eaten Indian food before but it was years ago. I'm going to have to visit an Indian menu again because what inordered was ok but I know there is better. Let's start with the samosa. Its a pastry with potato and peas mashed. A bit spicy but if I eat it slow im ok lol. The seeks kebab was of lamb and it was very spicy. Didn't read it correctly. I couldn't eat it. For my main meal I ordered salmon steak and it came with a red rice but I mistakenly ordered a side of brown basmati rice. I'm glad I did. The salmon was very tasty. The red rice, was good. It reminded me of my childhood when I ate whitespace with ketchup; which is what it tasted like. The brown Tasmania rice was bland. I guess thats the waybill suppose to taste. I mixed both rice and the salmon and WOW the combination made a very tasty meal. It all complimented each other more so then if eat separately. I would seriously eat here every day if my budget allowed it! This is Indian food done right. The mango lassi was superb. It was rich, thick, creamy, and the perfect way to start off my meal. It was so big and filling that I ended up taking the leftovers home and I basically had a second drink the next day! The paneer tikki masala was amazingggg. The paneer was delicious, and the tomato curry was savory, creamy, and had the perfect amount of tartness. My stomach is growling while I type this. Every curry dish also comes with a side of jasmine rice. It doesn't say that on the menu, so I also ordered plain naan. At first I was a little peeved because I didn't need the naan due to the secret side of rice, but after taking a bite of the steaming naan, all regrets faded away. Walking through the front door you find a simple room with minimal decor, but the wondrous smell of Indian herbs brewing just beyond the curtain is intoxicating. Personally wouldn't get any seafood from this place, I got a seafood dish which was supposed to have a mix of seafood including shrimp this was my shrimp...... the sauce they cooked it in was tasty but this shrimp + grit for improperly cleaned seafood so it was crunchy from sand was not enjoyable + onion bhajis were greasy and too big and no sauce so personally wouldn't order from here again. read more

ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK: I've ordered from this place over the last 3 years easily over a hundred times, both myself and my partner order from here. Initially this place was great, the delivery was fast and the food was consistently very GOOD. And I'm dedicated to consistently supporting places that offer me great service. But over the last year I've had multiple issues, specifically with the quality and freshness of the food. Now, I give fair reviews, which is why I mention the history of this place and why I have never given a bad review before. The first sign that things were amiss was when I began getting a couple orders that tasted a little off, and then there were the ones that were bad enough that I didn't eat at all. Again, I order from here so often, that I brushed this off. Listen, I'm no food critic, but I can tell when the same thing I've ordered over the last three years tastes wrong. So at the end of 2019 when they closed for a short time because it had dropped down to a B rating, that only reinforced that something actually was off. If you don't know how ratings work in NYC, a B is pretty bad (just go google it). But apparently they "fixed the issues" and they reopened again. Naturally, I came back. A few bad orders (and a B rating) isn't enough for me to lose faith, right? Then, BAM, coronavirus hits and they were shut down for a couple months. When they reopened I was ELATED to order! But, for some reason the food was OFF again and I actually found hair in it couple of times. I stopped ordering. Eventually my partner talks me into ordering again (because "history," and hair can occasionally fall into food), but I do so only after we call the restaurant directly to ask if there's a new chef. No new chef (just the current chef inconsistently making the food well). At this point, we're giving A LOT of grace... maybe it was a bad day, maybe a bad batch of produce, etc. And to our delight the next couple orders were good again. Flash forward to today, my partner's order wasn't just bad (as in taste), it was bad as in you used past due chicken or something else likely covered in salmonella. She calls the restaurant to tell them that there's something wrong with the food (hungry at work work/ because she's a frontline worker) Their response? "It's not my problem" "I don't care" "I don't want you as a customer." IN SUMMARY: Inconsistent food quality Potentially bad ingredients Former B rating, which who really knows how long that A will stick? With the amount of Indian food options in the area, you'd think that the standard of quality would be higher. Tandoori Masala has 4 stars and 162 reviews which is concerning. For our delivery, we ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Biryani. Simply put, the food was underwhelming. Both the chicken and lamb meat were dry, which ruined the taste. The Chicken Tikka Masala was very thin and was not hot enough. The Biryani seemed quickly thrown together as the rice was unevenly cooked and colored. I have been sleeping on this place for so long & I'm glad I have finally woken up!!! The food here is absolutely delicious. The samosas are big and extremely flavorful. You get 3 or 4 if you order the appetizer or 2 if you order in a combo with an entree. I've had the Chana Saag, Chana Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Vindaloo. You can't go wrong with anything but I do have 2 comments -- the chicken masala does taste kind of tomato soupy, it's not really spicy at all whereas the lamb vindaloo is spicy for sure. This has been my favorite Indian restaurant to order from for the past year and a half despite there being lots of other options in the area. Their chicken tikka masala blew all of the other ones out of the water, imo. So I was glad to continuously give them business. Until now. I ordered from Tandoori Masala via Seamless as I always do. As usual, it showed up on my list of options close to my home address... which is the same home address I've had for the past year and a half. I placed an order, and Seamless told me my order was in the works. About 10-15 minutes past the time I was supposed to receive it, I decided to call the restaurant considering they were typically really timely (often early, even). I called and a brash man on the other end told me "oh I canceled that order- your address is too far, sorry." I told him that I got no notification of this, and that I've ordered delivery from them MANY times before. He had no response for this. Seamless promptly refunded me, but what the hell? I also checked Delivery.com and it said they deliver to my address through there as well. I live less than 2 miles away, btw. Seamless told me they had not gotten any notification of the order being "canceled" either. So I waited around for over an hour for no reason. They apparently told Seamless that my address is in fact "out of the area" but they "do me a favor" on slow days which is why I've been able to order from them before?? My boyfriend and I planned to go to this restaurant for sit down service. Off the bat they have a sign on the door that says takeout only, but when we asked to dine in they said it was fine (meanwhile they had all of the tables set up for dining in anyways?). There's no music inside either so it was dead silent as we were the only people eating in. The server was cold and rude. She barely greeted us and I did not hear a thank you or your welcome from her once. She also brought us an entire bottle of cider without glasses?? I'm not sure if they just expected us to chug out of the bottle? The cherry on top was paying. We did not ask for the check yet we were given it anyways right after our table was cleared. It came off as them trying to kick us out. Then she had the audacity to hover over us staring as we wrote down her tip. The food itself is good but the service is god awful. Only order takeout. Loved this place ! My brother and myself came here on a Friday evening (the place was EMPTY) lol literally one other patron. We sat wherever we wanted looking over the menu and enjoying the warmth and great smell of the restaurant. The waitress took our order .... I was basic and ordered the Chicken tikka misala and my brother ordered what I believe is called Lamb Korma we both added garlic naan to our order which came with a bowl of rice. The food came out piping hot and we dug in immediately. I loved every bite of my food and so did my brother. I will 100% be back here. read more

Our family of 3 enjoys Indian, eats it often, 2 of us have taken an authentic Indian cooking class. Needless to say, we enjoy Indian food (in and out), so any restaurant getting consistent 5 stars we had to try. Bushwick is hipster hot of course, so we figured even if it's 4 stars we'd be happy. The interior is minimalist as it should be - after all it is 2015! The tables, glasses, dishware and utensils all SPARKLE. We came early, before sundown, so the view out the large window that runs the entire storefront is across to the lovely row houses across Broadway. Service was excellent, served with a smile. Here's what we tried this go around: Gratis for the table: Papadum served with 3 relishes - tamarind, mint cilantro, and tomato. Our preference would be a little less salt in the papadrum and cut the tomato with some onion. But as it was, it was still yummy. Appetizers Samosas - They could not have been better. Bhel Puri - Absolutely delicious. We were fighting over the last rice crisps! We tried 2 different Naans Kandhari Naan (Naan stuffed with pistachios, raisins and almond chopped red onion) - This was so yummy, it could easily be used as a dessert item. It doesn't indicate that there was coconut in it, but we certainly thought there was a hint of coconut flavor in there somewhere. We should have asked, but we just forgot. Spicey Naan (Chicken, Cilantro and some Chili powder) done to perfection - kick it up a notch by putting some of Saag or Curry on it (see below). Lamb Saag, and Shrimp Saag (not on the menu, just asked for it) - The Saag here has to be the best ever. Not at all salty with a hint of spiceyness. Truly perfect. The Shrimp were fresh, done to a turn. The Lamb was excellent quality, melt in our mouth, no grizzle. Both contained a sufficient amount of protein. Crab Curry - This was another yummy dish. Spicey but not too spicey. Dessert - 3 pieces on the house: Gulab Jamuun - A pleasant and absolutely delicious way to end the meal. *Even the Basmati rice was yummy! We WILL DEFINITELY go back. I had the chicken Tikka Masala from the prix fixe menu, which came with a tangy tasting chicken soup and basmati rice. I opted to order for pickup and my food was ready when I arrived just fifteen minutes later. DO NOT EAT HERE! I recently ordered Bengan Bharta with rice and when it arrived it had an insect in the dish. I called the restaurant and they initially said they would give a refund. When a refund was not provided, I called a Seamless representative. They connected with the restaurant and told me that the owner flat out refused to give a refund. I called them again and they said that they could provide me with more food but not a refund. I know that it seems crazy to dispute $13, but the fact that a restaurant will not refund a person who finds a BUG in their food is beyond belief. The lamb biryani is the best here. I always get the medium level and that already has a nice kick to it. If you're not good with spice I suggest you not to get this dish. I loveee it though! It is my go-to from this restaurant. It's only two blocks from me house and they always make it super fast. Great service. The only down side is they put raisins in it and it's a little too hard in the dish. It kinda gets stuck in my teeth. I try to eat around it along with the peppercorns. I will say that it is Indian food but the lamb vindaloo is WAAAAYYY too spicy. I know that ____ vindaloo is supposed to be spicy but it seemed like they over seasoned the sauce on the night that I visited (let's say that my stomach was NOT happy the morning after). This is coming from someone who likes spicy food. Other than that the food was pretty edible. The place itself is very humble and does not have an Indian charm or vibe, like most Indian restaurants. The interior of the restaurant kind of reminded me of a simple a room; but then again, many places in this area do not focus on the ambiance of the restaurant. Also, the service was not too friendly. The waiter seemed more interested in reading his newspaper and playing on his laptop than tending to us.
