This is a solid weeknight kind of spot if you happen to be in the neighborhood. The takeout special is a great deal. For about $26, it comes with naan, rice, curry, and an appetizer. I chose the samosa, which had a flavorful filling and a crispy exterior. It came with a mint chutney, tamarind chutney, and onion chutney, which were all solid. For my entree, I picked vegetable vindaloo. It was *really* spicy, almost to the point of being challenging to eat. I also noticed a ton of red food coloring. The food here isn't bad. On my journey of trying out every Indian restaurant in Brooklyn, I would put this place somewhere in the upper middle. It took about an hr for my food to be delivered which is a little long but not terrible. Chana Saag: 8/10 This was my favorite thing from here. It was very well seasoned and packed a lot of flavor and cooked almost to perfection Chicken Vindaloo: This was 6/10. I think the biggest issue with it was how oily it was which was a bit surprising. It also was a very small amount of chicken compared to many other places Ive eaten from and the chicken was also a bit tough and chewy which usually means it was over cooked or likely they reheated leftovers which caused the chicken to over cook. Flavor wise it was pretty good which helped boost its rating. I would definitely give this place another chance to try the Indo-chinese options in the menu and to get some of that Chana Saag again! read more

Seriously unexpectedly high quality Indian food in the shadow of the elevated JMZ tracks, right by the Myrtle-Broadway stop. I asked for the shahi paneer to be made spicy and it definitely had a strong kick. My partner got the garlic naan and chicken tikka masala and enjoyed both. Not good, dingy sketchy area and took a long time for food to come out. I spilled lassi all over me because they couldn't be bothered to put a cap on their lassi, wrapped it with plastic and it got all over me. The only good thing I ate was the biriyani, everything else was mediocre or less than subpar. Their meat tastes boiled and overcooked and thrown in as an afterthought, not really cooked down correctly with the gravy. The person cooking doesn't know what they're doing. The seating area is nice but poorly kept and uninviting. All the tables had chairs on top so basically they're not welcoming you in to sit. So don't do it. The 1 star is for the helpful and informative man sitting behind the desk taking orders, he was nice and accommodating with what he had. Don't recommend and won't be back. Both of the garlic naan bread were very stale and just didn't taste fresh at all. The tikka masala tasted very sweet and although I appreciated the amount of chicken, it did taste dry and just lacked that tenderness. Indika House came highly recommended from our hosts in Bedstuy, and it did not disappoint when my partner brought pickup from there on a Friday. They have a phenomenal take-out deal: one bread, one appetizer, and one entree. We ordered that with a secondary entree to prevent hangriness from appearing. We started with the aloo tiki, and I honestly had to fight my family for them. They were divine and piping hot despite our (pretty lengthy) transport from the restaurant. The naan we ordered paired so well with the saag paneer and (I believe) chicken chettinad. We are pretty spoiled in our hometown with our own fair share of fantastic Indian restaurants (recommended by our various, close Indian friends), and this one definitely reminded me of them. Indika house was a great experience! The food was served hot and was delicious. I wish I'd gotten the paneer spicy, but other than that I have no complaints. My favorite dish was the gobi manchurian, it was so crispy and savory. The server was really kind and attentive. He did a great on of checking in but was not too overbearing. The restaurant itself is a bit small. The seating itself isn't bolted to the ground, so it moved around a bit. For an Indian person though, the restaurant was on the same level looks wise as restaurants in the suburbs. It's moderatelty priced but the food was really good. The rice was light and fluffy, much better than at most restaurants. Naan was also very fresh and soft but not too thick. Had the saag paneer, it was great, and the butter chicken was also good. Lamb vindaloo was very good, nice boneless pieces of lamb with just the right amount of heat / spice. We were in Brooklyn for some official jobs. Were looking for some Indian cuisine and Indika House popped up. Went to the restaurant and it's amazing art works they have on the walls. The servers were on top their service from the beginning to the last. It's a fusion restaurant mixed with Indo Chinese. The foods were delicious and exactly what we wanted. This is probably one of the worst Indian food deliveries I have ever had. The reviews for this restaurant seemed promising, so I was excited to try them for the first time. First impression is a lasting one and this was extremely disappointing. I also had a stomach ache a few hours later resulting in a few early morning bathroom runs. Chicken Korma is a favorite of mine and it is the dish I will always order first whenever I am ordering Indian. I am not sure if my late order left the kitchen unprepared, but this dish was watery and flavorless. It tasted like actual water was added as it seems to be missing not only salt but actual spice. It was so confusing. The chicken was tender, but looked and tasted as though it has been boiled. The naan looked good, but was rubbery, most likely due to transport. It was not enjoyable. I also ordered lamb Rogan Josh to try for the first time, but because the Korma wasn't good, I lost my appetite all together, so I will have to try that dish elsewhere. read more

Craving Indian cuisine, I saw this place pop up on Uber Eats, with a deal for $18, which included an appetizer, naan bread, basmati rice, along with an entrée. I selected Fish Tikka and Lamb Rogan Josh. I also decided to order Rose Lassi (instead of my customary Mango Lassi, because I wanted to try something different). When I checked the order to make sure it went through, I noticed that I accidently chose the Sweet Lassi, so I immediately called the restaurant and they made sure I received the Rose Lassi. I enjoyed this drink, which was a beautiful pale pink color. It actually truly tasted like rose in a light and aromatic way. It was also delightfully creamy and smooth. I just would have liked it to be a bit more thick. The naan was decent - Very puffy and soft, moist, slightly charred, with butter on top. The Fish Tikka had a full bodied lemony flavor, made using tandoori masala and yogurt, The fish taste was quite strong, and the pickled red onion and red pepper was too much for me. As for the Lamb Rogan Josh, I had forgotten to request the dish to be mild, so it was too spicy for my tastes. The rice and Rose Lassi helped with that though. There were notes of cardamom, cloves, many spices, onion, ginger, and garlic in the sauce. I liked that there was plenty of lamb, which was tender and juicy. There are quite a few appetizing sounding menu items, so I would be open to trying this place out again in the future. read more

I got the chicken tikka masala, one of my favorite Indian dishes in general, and was disappointed to note a surprising sweetness to Indika House's version. And I've ordered chicken tikka masala at many places in the past, trying different variations, none of which have stood out like this. The vegetable samosas tasted good but were not fresh, which was fine with me but seemed like something to note in case others are interested. Did a quick pickup at this spot on a Monday evening coming back home from a trip. Easy ordering process and the food was ready within the timeframe given. Decided on the Lamb Curry ($16), Gobi Manchurian ($9), and the Lachha Paratha ($4). Lamb Curry is super rich, as large meaty pieces are covered in the thick masala. This is easily paired with the lachha paratha, which looked more like an overgrown naan than the flaky bread I was expecting. Gobi Manchurian has that familiar tangy flavor and not too greasy. All portions are considerable enough for some leftovers (except the bread, which would never be good the next day). Location itself is near the train and doesn't have too much room inside, so was glad to get the food to go. Would order the lamb dish again, though probably with a different bread option. read more

For an appetizer, Aloo Papri Chaat was very filling. I would have like the Chicken Tikka to be a little spicier, but that's just my preference. Same preference towards the Chicken Curry. You get the typical Indian restaurant food here, but they did kick it up a notch with a whole section of the menu dedicated to Indo-Chinese food reminiscent of my hometown of Malaysia... Kidding- I'm from TN, but my partner in crime is Malaysian, and he thought it was cool... and so then, so did I. In any case, the highlight was the chicken gassi which was very nice. After a lot of comparing, I rate Indika House as one of the best Indian restaurants in NYC, and probably the best in Brooklyn. It is better than Dhaba in Manhattan. I have done direct comparisons of the same dishes, because I didn't believe it at first, but Indika is better. The dishes I order most are chana masala and chicken vindaloo. Last night I had the best chana masala I've ever eaten from a restaurant outside India. For some reason a lot of other Indian restaurants don't give chana masala the same level of attention as other dishes, but at Indika they do. Also, Indika fries the samosas correctly every time without fail. They're always crispy but not greasy. Manhattan and Queens are usually regarded as the best boroughs for Indian food, but Indika House is a shining exception to that. Also, they now provide real dinnerware and utensils if you choose to eat-in (no more plastic or styrofoam). read more

I came here in person on a Friday evening, looking for a casual Indian spot in Brooklyn. I think it definitely delivers on that, as the meal was affordable and quality. We got the crispy okra appetizer, which I would say was the biggest disappointment of the meal (too stringy and hard to bite into, with a pungent onion flavor); the samosas were solid though. I really enjoyed my main dish, a paneer pasanda; I've never had these paneer sandwiches in gravy before and I found it to be very unique & filling. I had enough leftovers for a couple extra meals, making it better value! I don't know if I would ever crave to come back here, but its' not a bad option if you are looking for a cheapish sit-down Indian restaurant (or for takeout!). Nice service. read more

This place hit so good! Came here after bopping around the neighborhood for a while and wanted dinner. Was able to sit wherever. You can tell no one really sits in here because the service was delayed. They were probably to busy doing take out or delivery orders in the back. I would've even went to the counter if I had known it would take them that long to get to us. However when the waiter did come, he came with two cold bottles of water and waited on us to decide what we wanted before we left. We all ended up with the Samosa Chaat on recommendation from our friend, and I when I tell you, that was one of the best things I'd eaten in a very long time. A Samosa with a whole lot of fixing all over, it stayed crispy, while absorbing all the different flavors, it was phenomenal. And the presentation was so nice, it such good filling good. AND THE PRICE WAS JUST RIGHT! We had what was supposed to be an appetizer and couldn't eat more it was so filling and delicious. 10/10 would tell anyone in the neighborhood to come by. read more

The best Indian food around. I have lived all around this area my whole life and have ordered from many Indian restaurants but now this is the only place I will order from. Everything is so fresh and tasty, nothing disappoints. My go-to is the beef samosa and chicken-saag. The biryani and lamb curry dishes are great as well. I will definitely be going through the whole menu. I remember one time they did not have a curry dish that I ordered so they surprised me with a replacement one and it was so much better than I could have expected. Soooo good. The owners and staff are always so nice as well. Whenever I am there to order take-out, they have always treated me very nice as well as other customers and even to the delivery workers.
