Tall Plants - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Houston, Texas

4 years later and my Monstera Deliciosa grew up!! Have been coming here ever since for my plants, some plants from other nurseries. However the quality of the plants here are so high quality, and the workers here are so helpful! I got this Monstera Deliciosa during the height of COVID. Like other people, plants were a way to cope. It's 2025 now and this plant reminds me of how I overcame the difficulties during that time. I showered it with all my love, watered it, and gave it the environment to thrive, and now it's all grown up and healthy through all these years. Thank you Tall Plants!! read more

Extremely nice and great service! Jamie and all folks there were very helpful. Limited selection of pots but I was able to find 2 of use.

Joseph is so helpful!! Great place beautiful plants and healthy! Grateful to have a place to find that special new edition!

Highly recommend this plant shop. They have a wide variety of plants that you can grow indoor and outdoor. Kyle helped me out and showed me around the shop. The shop is not too big. Small and local which I really like to support. After picking my indoor plants, Kyle explained to me how to take care of them at the check-out area. He also wrapped the plants with brown paper bags that made it easy to carry to your car. The prices were also very affordable. Definitely would come back for more plants read more

The most fitting analogy I can think of to describe the care at Tall Plants is the difference between joining a gym and hiring a personal trainer. As a plant newb, I'm accustomed to walking into a nursery, aimlessly meandering through the isles, looking for plants that catch my eye while simultaneously looking for little tags to independently discern if the plant will indeed fit my space, and lifestyle. Then I usually spend a considerable amount of time finding someone to help me make a selection. Occasionally I succeed, but I often fail. At Tall Plants I was greeted by one brother on my first visit, and the second on my second. You'll likely be greeted by one of the brothers as well. Both are amazingly helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. They are the personal plant encyclopedias I didn't know I needed. I described my space, light levels, height needs, and they showed me which options would work best while educating me a bit about each one. I had tons of questions, they had tons of answers. Once I made a selection, they packaged them beautifully for their journey home. I also asked about how to better care for some of my existing plant babies. From floppy leaves to simultaneously growth and death, their advice was golden. Plant mentorship at its finest. They are consistently receiving new inventory, their prices are great, and they offer sales (there were a few plant babies for $3 and $5). Yes please. Man I'm thankful for this crew. If you're anywhere near the area (even just for the day, they're worth stopping by). read more

Loved this place!! The costumer service is absolutely incredible the manager is extremely sweet. You can tell he truly cares about his costumers:) he even gave me another plant for free. LOVE THIS PLACE! Owner is awesome. Friendly and helpful. Great quality plants. Will go back many more times

Such a great plant gem of Houston! It was my first time here and I was greatly welcomed at my arrival. The owners welcomed me and explained how to take care of all the plants that I was curious about. I can tell that they take great care of their plants and that they care a lot about how they treat their customers. They had a great variety of plants. Mostly, all were large and grown for years to get to the large size. I picked a few of the once's I liked. All the plants were carefully wrapped in brown specialty paper containers. The packaging prevented unwanted dirt spilling in my car. Wonderful customer service. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else to get my large plants! read more

This is the best place to find a wide variety of plants. They have many varieties you cannot find elsewhere. If you are looking for a Fiddle Fig or a Monstera deliciosa this is the place to go! However, you may want to call in advance if you are seeking a Monstera deliciosa to see what's in stock or when they expect their next shipment. They have a wide variety of pots, trays, moss, etc. All of their plants are healthy and lush. Family owned and operated, too. read more

Like a lot of people I've gotten into the plant world since COVID... like 120+-plants-and-counting 'in to plants'. That being the case I've made the rounds to a lot of the popular house plant spots in Houston, and I have to say the quality and selection at Tall Plants is fantastic! They get in some of the rarer, hard to find plants and if you follow their Instagram you can get a preview of what's available each day. The prices are hard to beat as well, with plants ranging from $5 up and when I compare plants to what people charge on Etsy and Facebook, Tall Plants has always been a better deal. The people who work there are super nice and helpful, will answer questions you may have or just chat if you want to strike up a convo. It can get busy on the weekends or right after shipments, and the parking lot is small so be prepared to either circle or park down the street. Especially during shipment deliveries, the large trucks will take up 1/2 of the parking lot so only 2-3 cars can park at a time. Don't get discouraged! One of my best finds here was a highly variegated golden pothos hanging basket (some call it Hawaiian Pothos) for $19. I've been looking for one of these to replace the one I lost in the freeze and everywhere I looked people were charging $20 for small pots or even cuttings, or the Pothos weren't variegated as much as I wanted. I was SO happy to find this guy at such a great price, and it was so full I had to repot it right away because it turns out the pot was 100% roots, hardly any soil was left in the pot. It's still doing fantastic and growing like crazy, so I'm very pleased with the quality of plants from this place. Definitely a stop to make when you're out hunting for a new plant friend to bring home! read more

Very nice selection of plants, with new arrivals every week as it begins to warm back up. I got two plants that really spoke to me as I walked around. What a beautiful nursery! I went to find an end of school year gift for my kids' assistant principal, who loves plants. This was my first time here, and I'm not a plant person so I had called them the day before to make sure they had what I was looking for. When I walked in, I could tell that all the plants were very healthy looking and cared for well. They have a great variety of all kinds of plants. Shawn was the employee who helped me pick out a plant. He was so personable and informative. He walked me around the store, introduced me to the owner Chris, and really took his time to make sure I was picking out a great gift. I can tell that they are very knowledgeable about their plants. The customer service was fantastic. I am looking forward to coming back and purchasing some more plants for myself. As a plant beginner, they provided some useful info and suggestions so they will be getting my business again in the future! Highly recommend this place! read more

Come here for your indoor and outdoor plants! Even if you feel like you know nothing about plants, don't hesitate to ask the staff for help. They're super friendly and knowledgeable. You can feel confident that you will get a quality and healthy plant at a good value. I learned of this nursery after moving to the area last summer and regularly visit to see their new plant haul every Sunday. I'm looking forward to see what the spring time has to offer. For you plant hobbyists out there, here are some plants that I've purchased here: Monstera deliciosa (Swiss cheese plant), Scindapsus pictus (Silver satin pothos), Epipremnum aurem (Devil's ivy), Calathea lancifolia (Rattlesnake prayer plant), Monstera adonsonii (Swiss cheese vine), Sansevieria masoniana (Whale fin snake plant), Hoya carnosa (Wax plant), Asplenium bulbiferum (Mother fern), Pilea peperomiodes (Chinese money plant), Ficus benghalensis (Ficus Audrey) and various succulents and cacti. Lastly, this place appears to be dog friendly so bring your pooch and grab a plant! read more

Good selection for the front of my house. Nice people and reasonable prices. Small but great for a gift.

Would not recommend buying the Janet Craig Compacta. I regret my purchase. I followed exactly how they said to water, I called Tall Plants twice when I noticed it was getting brown and continued to follow their advice. I even went as far as seeking help from other plant experts/resources. This plant pretty much appears to be dying now. For a tree they said "is hard to kill", it didn't even last a year. I have no green thumb, but I do know a thing or two about plants, and by no means did I over water this plant at all! My next step is to repot it, in the hopes that it won't die completely...but I just want to share that for the price I paid...this plant was not worth it. read more

Honestly I could not have asked for a more positive buying experience than I had at this place. I'm a first time plant buyer and had visited two well known plant sellers in the Heights area prior to finding TP. Both places no one would even speak to me or offer help, not to mention neither had what I was looking for which were palm plants. The second I parked my car I was offered assistance, and not because the men weren't busy, they were just extremely helpful and aware. Their names escape me now but everyone I encountered was extremely helpful and patient, taking the time to explain proper care and instructions. I originally only planned on purchasing 1 plant, but ended up buying 5! Excellent delivery service for a small fee, very VERY professional company. When I decided to purchase more plants I cannot imagine shopping anywhere else in Houston. Exceptional is the only word to describe them, thank you for transforming my new home! read more
