What is it about coffee in the afternoon that makes everything feel so much naughtier? It certainly brings with it a whole latte energy! Last day on Oahu and it was stop-after-stop of amazing company, laughter, good food, and lots of fun sips. At some point, someone suggested coffee. Honestly, it was a great call. Enter: Talk Kaimuki. We ordered: Matcha Latte × 3 ($7.00 ea.), Hot Matcha Latte 16oz ($5.25), Haupia Latte × 2 ($5.50 ea.), Almond Croissant ($6.00), Banana Bread ($4.50), and Lemon Cake ($7.00). Purchase Subtotal: $54.75 + Card Processing (3.6%) fee: $1.97 Now the lattes are amazing. Robust in flavor, creamy, and it had enough caffeine to make the midday need for a siesta go away. The baked goods had a mix reaction. The almond croissant was good, I heard good reviews for the banana bread, but that lemon cake is a hard pass. She looks cute but she was diabetic levels of sweet. If you're not into caffeine but are a fan of a sugar rush, feel free to get the lemon cake as your energy source. Woo! Randy S. had told us the evening hours is boozy, Thursday-Saturday. Now that sounds truly wonderful! Cheers, Kaimuki!

I love the ambiance here! The baristas are super friendly and love to talk story with you! They really make you feel welcomed. This is my go to coffee spots to study and/or do work. I always recommend this place to any and all my friends for an amazing cafe experience!

Visited Talk Kaimuki today after a pedicure to order my regular- Iced, Nutella latte with Oatmilk. I told myself to order something new, but if you know me, I go with what I like most days. The Nutella latte hits the spot if you need a pick-me-up on a busy day. Some things to keep in mind: -this area can get really busy and parking is a nightmare during lunch hours (11:30-1:30pm). All spots are also metered parking so be prepared. With a credit card or change! The ambiance in Talk Kaimuki is a chill and relaxed. This is an area where lots of college students frequent so there is a hipster vibe. Lots of folks here getting business and studying done so perfect spot if you are meeting a friend or colleague for a quick meeting.

My experience at Talk Kaimuki today deserves a 5-star. As soon as I entered, the staff was eager to take care of me. The woman who helped me was efficient, kind and skilled. Her iced latte was incredibly crafted. (The reason for the 1-star deduction has to do entirely with my other experience here. There was an employee who was condescending and rude when I asked a question.) The restrooms are clean. Talk offers free WiFi. There's parking nearby. Lots of seating for social hangouts, work/school, etc. My iced vanilla lavender latte was delicious! Coffee flavor strong, yet well balanced. The perfect amount of ice too!

If you love your coffee bold & strong- this place is it. Check their specialty drink menu, yum! They have pistachio matcha & haupia lattes, to name a few. They also have this ube chocolate bread putting. There's a wall of mini shaka hooks. Cute spot & happy baristas.

Customer service was quick and friendly, and the staff had great recommendations for their pastries. I ordered a café mocha and the Lilikoi Mango Sticky Rice scone--which completely surprised me because I normally don't care for sticky rice desserts, but this one was fantastic. I stopped by on a busy Saturday morning, and even with the crowd, the baristas were swift and attentive. I love exploring the little cafés around Kaimukī, and Talk Kaimuki is definitely worth a stop if you're strolling through the area.

Sorry to say I live close by and haven't been here in a long time and is the first time here for cocktails! I'm so happy I did. Love what they did with the place and the way they do things. The evening had a great vibe. The night we came we sat next to a couple that met exactly a year ago celebrating that they met at Talk Kaimuki and their relationship is still going. Bartenders are great not in just making their cocktails but personable and friendly. Their ideas as mixologists are amazing to watch. My friends and I were able to see how they were testing recipes .its nice to see the artistry as a mixologists. As someone who is not much a drinker, (I was this night), to see the process. The drink were delicious and unique flavors. What I really love are the different glasses. I'm all about crockery and loved the different styles. It adds to the drinks for me. The food we only had grill cheese and the popcorn and both were delicious. The Popcorn is legit! I'm looking forward to visiting again with my friends. Thanks for a great experience.

Very friendly staff. Baked goods - in house. I bought blueberry scones. Very tasty. There was a line to order. They are open when others are closed. Lots to order for breakfast and sandwiches and coffee and other drinks of course. Relaxed atmosphere.

Today I got to try the breakfast at Talk Kaimuki and found it very quiet, relaxing and calm with a tasty meal. The service was friendly and helpful.

A staple coffee shop in Kaimuki that turns into a cocktail bar at night. The space is laid out with the coffee bar and ordering counter in the center with seating on both sides. There is a good amount of indoor seating with different nooks for people to sit in. There is a good variety of coffees -- the Thai Nitro was good! The pastries are good -- especially the cinnamon rolls and I have also heard that the quiches are worth a try. The baristas are sweet and quick as well. At night, the cocktail bar is pretty self-directed as you pick up your clipboard menu and grab bottles of water on your own before heading to your table. Then, you order off your menu. We got a Sneaky Smash, Ode to Oaxaca, Curry Lemonade, and some sort of lemon non-alcoholic drink. The Curry Lemonade was different and did taste like drinking curry, if that is what you are looking for. The other drinks were enjoyed by the table, especially the lemon drink -- sweet and syrup-y. This is a great spot in Kaimuki for drinks throughout the day and into the night with parking on the street and in lots around Kaimuki.

Cafe in downtown Kaimuki on a corner spot! Parking is street parking. Really lovely atmosphere for sitting and doing work, catching up with a friend, or just enjoying a relaxing coffee morning. Good vibes! Relatively quiet even though it's busy. Open concept space with high ceilings and lots of sunlight. Coffee drinks aren't the most aesthetically pleasing, but there's a rich coffee taste, and the milk foam was well done. They sell pastries, quick bites and sandwiches as well. A bit pricier but coffee quality is worth it.

Honestly, not sure how this place is and continues to be in business. We came here to get a caffeine fix, and we regretted instantly in giving this place a try - Don't fall for their signages, since it's all false advertisement - their so-called 'Specialty Drinks' are all lies! I tried their Nitro, which was described as it being 'rich and creamy' - there was no richness or creaminess in this drink - it was bitter, watered down, and it had an off taste to it, as if they added some weird unfiltered water. With half of a sip, this was tossed. There seemed to be only one staff member on site, preparing the drinks; we come to find out that she is supposedly a 'longtime beloved employee' named Di - not sure who these individuals are, but she was passive aggressive and made us feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable. The place itself is spacious, but dimly lit; the surfaces of the tables were not wiped down properly, as it was grimy/sticky. In addition, there was a pungent odor coming from somewhere, so not sure if they have a sewage problem or something. Apparently, this place transitions into serving cocktails at 4 PM. Such a poor experience, and, unfortunately, I can't and will not support this so-called local business. Limited metered street parking in the area. +awful service +unfriendly and rude staff +improperly prepared beverages +false descriptions on items +limited metered street parking available

Chocolate croissant was overcooked and dry.

We are weekly regulars at Sprout Sandwich Shop and it's usually good to very good. My issue at…read moretimes is that the fillings can be skimpy and not evenly distributed. I think that you should be able to taste a bit of everything in the sandwich with every bite. There have been times that the pickled red onion was on the skimpy side - like 80% of the time. To me a great sandwich is when everything is evenly spread on the bread (house mayo, hummus, garlic aioli, etc.) and evenly laid out (turkey, chicken, meats, etc.) and not just piled high in the center with the edges bare. Today my Duke sandwich was fantastic! Whoever made it literally had everything evenly spread and laid out on my multigrain bread. The lettuce was over the edges, but who cares. The carved turkey was moist and the bacon had the right amount of crunch. I actually had pickled red onions in every bite and not just a few pieces pulled apart by the layers and spread out on top of the meat. I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich that just disappeared too fast. It's so easy to continually support our neighborhood businesses when they serve great food.

Sprout has the ideal "beach sandwich". Something that is light but filling. Satiates the appetite,…read morebut keeps that six pack tight. And you're going to need that for your day jaunting across Waikiki in your new seal-print bathing suit. So ditch that Moko Loko and grab yourself a beautiful sandwich from Sprout, you'll feel a lot better about your trip to Hawaii. I love that Sprout has vegetable-forward options even in their meat-based sandwiches. The pesto chicken salad was loaded with beautiful green goodies which made this treat as aesthetically pleasing as it was delectable. They're also slapping down some of the best local Hawaiian ingredients into these here sanguines. The pesto itself was mac-nut based, which was intriguing. I'll be honest, I couldn't taste the difference between that and a pine nut pesto, but it was friggin delish pesto either way. The only downside I can think of is that the bread here lands somewhere between "ok" and "good". I've never had a bread quite like it, but it reminds me of a mix between an artisanal white bread, and a painini bread that you would find in Italy. It got the job done, but I feel like it could be upgraded. Sprout is worth a visit before or after your beach trip. The surrounding neighborhood is also a lively area with tons of fun restaurants and shopping.

I think the meat changes but it's usually some slice of meat rather than a sausage or bacon and there's also cooked greens on there that are a little different. The croissant items I've had have all been really good. Today I tried the quiche and it was very good and had a really tasty croissant crust. The egg and ricotta in there was really creamy and custard like. Mushrooms were good but I wonder if this would be even better with Hamakua mushrooms? It would mesh well with their use of local ingredients. The one negative is that the $3.75 coffee was TINY. Granted if you eat there I think you can refill it but kind of a rip off if you're getting things to go. The meat is all pretty pricy but it's local stuff so that's cool. There's also some unique things that you probably can't find elsewhere. I was excited to see venison pastrami and venison liver mousse. Hoping to try some of that stuff soon!

Since it was their anniversary on Sunday, also got their celebratory funfetti cupcake which also like their baked goods did not disappoint. The croissant base of many of their pastries is flaky. When fresh it crunches with every bite that you take. This time around we had the cinnamon roll, mango danish which had a chocolate mochi filling, and their char siu bun. It's such a neat take to have char siu in a croissant. We are used to having it in the doughy bao bread but in a croissant, savory with a crunchy outside tastes so much better. I love sweet but this one wasn't overly sweet, who would have thought that mango and chocolate pair so well together. It's the summer months, fresh mango on pastries. It was the perfect ripeness. For the cinnamon roll, you honestly cannot forget get their cinnamon roll...It's flaky and again the frosting is not overly sweet. Can't wait to get another box of their pastries again soon.
