Wanted to like this place as we are in this area once a month. VERY PRICY MENU for the amount of food. Forgot to take a pic of the recent menu but compared to one of the most recent one posted, I've added some of the updated pricing. There were two of us. We both got the traditional breakfast option. Not large portions at all. Just two eggs, potatoes, meat and biscuit. I got sausage. No taste and VERY DRY hockey puck. The other person got the ham. It was a good portion and they said it tasted good The biscuit was good and so were the potatoes. BUT NOT ENOUGH TO JUSTIFY $55 for BREAKFAST. Iced tea =$4.25. Coffee =$4.65 Tradition breakfast = $15.99 They do have an extensive menu of "griddle" options. French toast, crepes, etc that is around $13-16 each but if you want the eggs and meat to make it a combo, that is an additional $7.49. So just for a breakfast combo you will spend at least $20. The food is not that good to justify the price, in our opinion. Service. Not good. Restaurant was more than half empty at the peak of a Saturday breakfast time. This is definitely a one and done. If you want to charge those prices for mediocre food, the service and taste need to make up for it. And it didn't. read more

I had a group of 8 ladies that needed a place for lunch on a Saturday during a break for a conference at the event center. We were all from out of town. I called two days ahead and was able to get reservations! They were so helpful and checked in to confirm day of. They were ready for us right when we got there! The staff and manager were all so nice and helpful and accommodating! The ambiance was fresh and cute! The food was AMAZING! Wow! Talia's took our breath away! We were in town from Texas craving a memorable brunch and Talia's did not disappoint. A list of things they did well includes: matcha, iced latte, veggie skillet, and ESPECIALLY the gluten free Belgian waffle! It was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. We went to Talia's for the first time today. We were surprised there wasn't a crowd, there should be! This place was really good. The service was great and friendly. We ordered a Strawberry Croffle with 2 eggs and bacon. The croffle was toasty and light. The eggs and bacon were perfectly cooked. We also ordered a meat lovers omelette with hashbrowns and country potatoes and a pancake. Omelette was BIG with lots of flavor and the hashbrowns were nice and crunchy. The country potatoes may be the best we have ever had. Crispy in the outside, smooth and tender in the inside. The pancakes are the size of the plate but had a bit of a chew. Coffee was dark, strong and full of flavor. We will be back to try other things soon! read more

Excellent food and nice atmosphere. On a personal note, I cannot find it comfortable with how restaurants have to always be playing music. And it is set to be loud so conversing is difficult to talk over the music. I would like to find a non-music restaurant. This brunch spot is not a disappointment whatsoever. First visit and will not be the last. The food was fresh. Mimosa was tasty and fresh. The chicken was moist and crispy. If you live near, or are traveling through Allen, you owe it to yourself to stop in Talia's Café on W. Exchange for breakfast or brunch. From the exterior, it looks like any another of the many cafes that pop-up in every town, but Talia's is not the ordinary café. Make no mistake, if you're looking for a usual breakfast, Talia offers all the American staples, but if you want something a little different, you have to try a Croffle! Very popular is South Korea, a croffle is a croissant roll cooked in a waffle maker. The result marries the crunch of a waffle with the light, flakiness of a croissant in a delicious fashion. You can simple have your croffle with butter and syrup, or powdered sugar and whipped cream, but that's just the beginning. Their menu includes options such as Caramel, Strawberry, Banana or Strawberry Nutella, and - my choice - Apple Pie Croffle. I ordered my croffle along with 2 scrambled eggs, sausage links and a bowl of grits. All good, the rest was just what you'd expect from eggs, sausage and grits. The Apple Pie Croffle was light and flavorful, topped with apple chunk that were not overly sweet, powdered sugar and a dollop of whipped cream on the side. Depending on the size of your appetite, you can order 1 or 2 croffles (I'd suggest 2!) Now let's take it up a notch! For the fall, the owners of Talia's Café are combining the Croffle with another South Korean favorite - Brunost Cheese. Brunost is a sweet, caramel-flavored soft cheese that packs a very strong flavor. Called the "Brown Cheese Croffle", it is topped with Powdered Sugar, a Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream and then thinly shaved cheese. On it's own, Brunost can hit the palate hard, but when combined with the creaminess of the Ice Cream and savory Croffle, it a blast of flavor in the mouth. Joining the Brown Cheese Croffle on the current menu is the Honey-Maple Ham Croffle Sandwich (Ham, Cheese, Tomato, Lettuce, Fried Egg and Honey Mustard between two Croffles), and Toffee Nut Latte. Both really appeal to the foodie in me! The sandwich can be a bit messy if you want to take a big bite, so be prepared to use your knife and fork. The Toffee Nut Latte is a wonderful blend for one who likes a sweet, nutty flavor to your coffee. Definitely give Talia's, and their Croffles, a try! read more

I've been here a couple times with my son. They have a pretty big breakfast menu, and the service was pretty fast. On my second visit here, I was rushed, and they were able to accommodate my time and get me fed and out quickly. There is nothing wrong with the restaurant, the only thing I will say is there nothing that stands out. This is the closest place in proximity to my home, but oftentimes I find myself driving past this place because the other places have something that makes you want to come back. The restrooms are clean; which is a very important piece to me, the floors are equally kept clean. When I eat, I check some foundational things to make sure the place is to my liking of cleanliness. So to be clear, Talias is awesome, the food is delicious, and the service is always on point. I will return, I will continue to dine here when the timing is right. I am absolutely obsessed with the strawberry croffles! I have never heard of a croffle before coming to Talia's cafe and wow-- its so delicious! The waffle and croissant hybrid was very delicious and was topped with nutella and powdered sugar. It came with a side of maple syrup as well. In addition, for a small fee I added two eggs and sausage links. The eggs and tasty sausage links actually came first before the croffles so it was nice not to have to wait. This cafe is a newer place, so there was no wait. In addition, the staff and server was very kind, food came out promptly and the ambiance was nice! Overall, I would recommend Talia's cafe to anyone. Another one of a slew of Breakfast/Brunch spots that have opened recently. I had a gut feeling going in that I was going to get what I got and I did. Let me remind you of my criteria when judging a restaurant. Food-Just Ok Environment-Severely lacking Service-Help! The food here is ok. I haven't had breakfast but, the menu was more extensive and there may be a better outcome there. The lunch menu hits all the right notes and my Ruben sandwich was decent. The problem came in with the space. It's my least favorite and seemingly most common new trend. Giant empty space, black painted ceiling, cheap tables, and chairs! Uncomfortable when I have better options down the street. Service. Our waiter was new and in training. No problem but, you have to come around once in a while! Finally. This new point-of-sale check-out system leaves me speechless. I was probably going to tip a max 15 % due to poor service maybe even 10. But the system gave me the choices of 18,20 24 percent!!! I don't like those systems especially when they crepe the customary 15 up to 18 and 20. So bottom line,I'm not going back.
