Lube tech showed me my engine air filter (a washable K&N) stated it was my "cabin air filter" and needed to be changed, and dripped oil over my valve cover, engine cover and core support. $125 for an oil change now I've got to go wash my truck.

This particular Gateway location, on Poplar, is hands down the best place to take your car to…read morehandle tires and general maintenance. They are lovely here - the customer service is phenomenal and they are HONEST to a degree rarely found in this industry. It's always pretty busy, and they don't take appointments - it's always first come, first serve - so I usually try to make it in as early as possible, but I've never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time. I know that if I drop my car off in the morning, they'll have it ready for me by the end of the day. They are never trying to gauge you on price - many times I have come in expecting to replace a tire and they've told me it's unnecessary; instead, I've left with a tire patched and paid nothing. Because they are so wonderful here, my whole family really makes an effort to bring all the business we can to them. I'd rather deal with Gateway than a dealership any day! We stumbled upon them about five years ago and we will continue to bring our cars to them as long as they stay in business.

I visited your Collierville location for a oil change on 7/21/2026 at 12:00 p.m. The guy that…read morewaited on me was rude and unprofessional. He said they was busy and it would be an hour wait but I was willing to wait. He never came back to give me the status. I ask some of the other staff to check and they was not friendly either. I have brought my car to your establishment in the past but it had been a while. He insinuated because I hadn't been to you that I wasn't taking care of my vehicle. All the staff seems to have the worst attitudes and I am not sure if it's racially motivated but I am uncomfortable. There were people that came after me but got their vehicle back before me. I feel I should have been notified of the status Instead I had approximately a 3 1/2 hour wait. I won't be back to that location. I have a 2015 Nissan Altima.

Unprofessional with a dash of Twilight Zone at Firestone Poplar and Highland…read more Another Firestone location couldn't reattach my tire sensor after fixing a leak. A tool was locked inside a toolbox and the key was with someone who had left for the day. That was okay. Mistakes happen. They apologized, handed me my tire pressure sensor in a Firestone bag and asked me to come back so they could reattach it. I was traveling so I made an appt. and went to the Firestone at Poplar & Highland to have my sensor reattached. During the hour or so wait, I watched my sales manager and perhaps the store manager soothe a mildly irate customer by giving him a free oil change. To reattach my sensor, I was charged over $40. When I said it didn't make sense, the charge was reduced to $20. I said that it still didn't make sense. Why am I paying - it was Firestone's mistake. The service manager very politely explained that he had not had an opportunity to call the other branch to verify my story. I immediately volunteered to call. He ignored me and explained WALMART'S return policy. Yes, Walmart's product return policy. I couldn't see the face his associate who was 4feet away and silent. I wondered if the customers behind me were listening. Minutes earlier, this same service manager gave a customer a complimentary oil change to resolve a service concern. I was required to pay to resolve one. Why do customers with service concerns receive such different treatment? Was it my long blonde hair? Was it because I am "nice"? Or maybe he didn't like my dress or flowery umbrella. Help me, a former national director at a national service company, understand. I'm knowledgeable about how corporate brand continuity and customer service are supposed to operate. There are standards for pricing, standards for service, and standards for doing the right thing. I paid the $21.95 to the sales manager to whom I'd given a $5 tip the week prior for checking my tire pressure. And left. I left... with disappointment, anger, an explanation of Walmart's return policy and questions.
