I used to go there for oil changes, but they are what we used to call a Clip Joint. They were charging me way over $100 for an oil change. Then finding other things to charge me for. The last straw was when the tried to tell me that my one month old battery was in need of replacement. The cheapest wind shield wipers they could sell me were over $40. I won't go back there again. I've been coming here for years so I'm pretty surprised by the bad reviews I see here on Yelp. The main service I usually get is my oil changes. Every time I come, the people who work there receive me in a timely manner, explain the cost for the service I'm getting and I have waited no longer than 20 minutes for someone to get started on my car. There's at least one phone charger in the waiting area, which has come in handy on more than one occasion. When I leave, they've always put a little sticker on my car to tell me when to get my next oil change (either by mileage or date) and my car always runs smoothly. I often get coupons in the mail, which is a total plus bringing down the cost of my services. I plan continue going to this Jiffy Lube for my future oil changes. ;-) read more

Poor experience, and not recommended. Brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change in an attempt to avoid the dealership and save some time and money. This was a mistake, though perhaps a predictable one. The employees seemed to have very little experience with the tools and the job. They billed me for the wrong type of oil, not what I asked for, and thus I likely overpaid by over half compared to the dealership. They also were not familiar with how to read and use a tire pressure monitor, and when asked to top off my tires, left them all less inflated than before, in retrospect possibly not knowing the difference between the PSI and KPA unit readouts (two different units of air pressure measurement) on their tools. More importantly, as I later found out, the technicians cranked on the oil filter with a wrench, significantly over-tightening it, stripping and cracking the filter, breaking the o-ring, and leaving the vehicle spilling oil down the road over the course of the subsequent long distance trip I was preparing for. This was a very simple, basic mistake that no professional employed in a dedicated oil change shop should be making, and cost me a good bit to straighten out the damage it did to my vehicle once I arrived at my destination. I would recommend taking the time to find an experienced, honest small mechanic who is familiar with cars to do the job right, instead of trying to take the easy and quick path as I did in this case. read more

I've had my oil changed here several times and have had consistently good service. They are friendly and professional as well as efficient.

Since I have owned my car I have only gotten the oil changed here. Today I went because I'm going out of town for thanksgiving, and they said they could not change my oil because the oil drain plug is stripped. Said nothing they could do and said that was it. WTH!! They did the damage And gave me no solutions. So now what? How will I get my oil changed now if the bolt is stripped and it cant be turned?! read more

I stopped by the Jiffy Lube to get my car ready for a road trip. Ronnie, the manager was helpful and friendly. The level of customer service was something rare in Memphis. They changed that oil, fixed a bulb and topped off the antifreeze. He even found me a coupon to lower the bill. I heartily recommend this place. read more

Was told I had a 10 minute wait and 10 minutes to install oil. It has been an hour now:(. One tech tells me that my 2014 has to have "Des oil" that's $80 for a 2014 Chevy LT and needs 4.2 quarts. And that's the only kind I can use. He says he will discount it down to $64.95. I call extreme lube and they say the same oil and amount will be $46.99 and that if I choose conventional (which I can since my car isn't under warranty) that it be $42.00 read more

I received an oil change on 2/1/2021 with mileage at 116127. I only commute to and from work (less than 10 miles total) . My car started rattling after 400 miles. After getting it checked out my a mechanic , not only was there little to no oil in my car, the square part that is taken off DURING the oil change was not put back on causing further damage to my vehicle. This location was the only location I've been to outside of my mechanic due to desperately needing an oil change but never again. read more

I went for an oil change yesterday, and they didn't give me enough oil!!! Only gave me 2 quarts of oil!! I paid 89.00 for 2 quarts of oil!! Make sure you check your oil before your pull off!!! Poor service and poor communication and poor facilities Drove up, waited while the "courtesy" person ignored me for a few minutes, she slowly walked to my truck and barely said a word. I got out and asked if we were good while she went to go fetch someone from the parking lot. I walked myself through the service bay to the waktomf room with the plywood covered door. I waited there with the extra loud tv blaring a soap opera because there was not a remote anywhere and nobody came in that I could ask. Eventually someone came in to tell me my service was done (I didn't actually tell anyone what I wanted or confirm my choices) and then charged me $176 for unknown service. I can accept the price if the service is worth while, but this was not. I got in my truck to find that it had not been vacuumed, windows were not cleaned, and to top it all off, they didn't even reset my oil change reminder. I looked over my receipt and noted that it said all these services were completed. It really made me wonder if they really did any of the service. Hopefully they at least changed the oil. I won't be surprised when my low washer fluid light comes on soon. I don't want to think what else they could have neglected in less obvious places. I drove out to this place past all the other cheap quick places because I have always had good experiences with Jiffy Lube. It's expensive, but the people and service always make it worth while. So disappointed. I should have listened to Yelp about this place. I will contribute my Yelp review to hopefully help others avoid the distaste of such poor service. read more

When I pulled up, I was greeted immediately and the mechanic took my car right away. I told them I needed an oil change and they showed me the waiting room. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes! Slowest oil change (that they were not able to actually get done) I've ever received. Customer service was about as good as the previous reviews I've read mentioned. Very unprofessional. Should've listened to the other two people before me! On top of everything else, I didn't 'actually get my oil changed because my oil pan screw was "stripped" and the guy who can fix that wasn't there and they got oil all over my leather (fortunately it's black)...... The Chrysler dealership never seems to have an issue getting the job done. Hoping my car doesn't start spilling out oil on my drive to somewhere that can actually get my oil changed. The only perk of this place is that it's open on Sunday (might as well not be). Will not be back here. read more

Experienced some terrible customer service at this location today. I went in at 2:45pm, knowing that closing time was 5pm. I was certain that should be enough time. When I pulled up, the mechanic asked me to leave the keys in the car because he doesn't like "keys getting mixed up". Strange way to greet someone, but okay, fine. I go into the waiting room, letting him know that I need a claim ticket and that I'll be leaving with a friend and coming back to pick up my car. He told me to wait; that he'll be with me in a minute. I wait 10 minutes. In the meantime, my friend arrives, and we wait together another 5-10 minutes to speak to someone. When this mechanic returned, I asked for an oil change, tire rotation, replacement wiper blades, and tire pressure check. He noted this. I asked him for a claim ticket and he said "we don't do tickets. You just tell me what you need for your car and I'll do it." That part was really odd. No claim ticket? Doesn't seem like a good practice. I felt vulnerable leaving my car without some sort of proof or receipt, but fine, I leave. I return with my friend at 4:45pm, a few minutes before closing time. Nothing had been done to my car because apparently the last oil change place had put the oil cap on too tightly and they weren't able to remove it. I've never heard of this before. And even if they couldn't get to the oil change, I had asked for other services -- tire rotation, wiper blade replacement -- why weren't those done? My feeling is that it was close to their end of day and they just didn't care about my business and wanted to go home. I'll be going back to Midas, even if it is further away from my house. I only have time on the weekends for errands like this, and this place wasted my time. Do not recommend. read more

This review is only for the location at 2911 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. When it comes to oil changes and other simple maintenance needs, it doesn't get much worse than this place. The people who "work" there act lazy, unknowledgeable, and unfocused. They mess up simple things such as not being able to put the correct mileage on stickers. God only knows what they are doing under the hood of the cars. I stopped trusting them long ago for oil changes, but recently I stopped there to get a headlight bulb replaced. Simple and easy. Right? Apparently not. The person on duty would not even try. He lazily told me that they couldn't change headlight bulbs on Volkswagens. I quizzed him and he didn't know why. I left, went a couple miles to another oil change company, and the bulb was replaced within 10 minutes. How does this Jiffy Lube location even stay in business? And does the corporate office of Jiffy Lube care so little about its name that it allows one of its locations to be run like this? On Saturday, May 4th I was in Memphis TN to attend the Beale Street Music Festival. I pulled into a Jiffy Lube (2911 Poplar Street) because my oil light had flashed on the previous night when I arrived into town and I was about due for a change. Other than that my car was good working order and although it is a 2002 it has less than 75,000 miles on it. I drive a VW Golf. A 5 speed. Yes, you have to press the clutch in to start the engine. Less than 15 minutes after the young service tech asked me to park the car for their maintenance tech to pull it into the bay they came to get me in the waiting room. The tech told me he couldn't start my car. I got in and found the ignition stripped. The key would turn but had no give, everything on the dash was lit up and stayed that way even when the key was removed. Yes, I freaked. They never filled out a form because they never got me inside the bay. The ignition was broken before they started the work on my oil change. There is no paper trail at Jiffy Lube. This is a flawed service practice. At this point the service staff all begin to ignore me. Even though my car was completely blocking entrance to their first bay and business was getting steady. Instead of trying to assist us and a transaction they had started, they began to back cars into the bay we were blocking. My boyfriend began trying to get information regarding contacting the franchise owner while I began calling ignition specialist that might possibly be open on a Saturday. The manager told my boyfriend he didn't know who owned the franchise. Eventually I ended up having my car towed from the Jiffy Lube to the VW Dealership Service site and renting a car from Enterprise which happened to be across the street. Both of the tow service, the dealership and the Enterprise know where the car came from event though the Jiffy Lube has sugggested that maybe I wasn't there at all. They cancelled my complaint with the Better Businness Bureau claiming I was never their customer because there isn't a service invoice. Meanwhile the dealership office manager asked me how my car ended up in the shape it was. He said that it, "looked like someone tried to start it with a screwdriver. Apparently Jiffy Lube personnel are not trained on VW's. I am not suggesting that a screwdriver was used. I am only saying that they had possess of my vehicle, it suffered damages and they want to ignore me and the damages done. I had to return to Memphis on May 15th to return the rental and retrieve my vehicle... so the cost have only just stopped adding up...$1,107.00 (towing, parts and service and rental from 5/6-5/15) + $94.00 (two day rental 5/4-5/6)+ $40 (gas going both ways to retrieve car) = $1,241.00. Loved my visit to Memphis except for the service practices at the Jiffy Lube. I'll return to Memphis, but I will warn others away from Jiffy Lube.
