I called in for an appointment and it was about 3 weeks before I could get in, but it was worth the wait. My Mercedes needed and oil separator. They quickly got in and diagnosed my issue. I received a call confirming if they could go ahead and start the work. Once they did that, I picked up my car the next morning. Mid-town AW, has been my "go to" place for my cars service and general maintanence since moving to Memphis... Grant is by far thee absolute best at "service with a smile", and over the top, above and beyond, customer care and experience. He is passionate about the people he serves "and" your car! t Brandon and Brandon ( not a typo ) are also amazing members of the MAW team... They always meet me with a warm greeting / welcome - and the double B's truly make their customers feel at home while executing the onboarding and delivery of your vehicle with speed and efficiency. The pedigrees of the mechanics are top notch and while i dont know them by name I trust that my car is in experienced, competent hands - "ALWAYS". The price of service is competative to the MBZ dealership ( typically less ) and the results are at par. I warn you though...they are busy! Planning ahead is key! So if you need service work please call ahead, dont shoot the messenger if you sometimes roll to v-mail and "Grant" has to call you back. OR if you cannot get in the same day...of course, if there is an emergency there can be flexibility so let them know. The MAW's team also has a solid list of referral colleagues in areas/services that are not their current areas of expertise. (such as towing, body work, etc. ). Horrible service from start to finish. Tech was extremely rude and left my vehicle dirty from his work. Failed to service car adequately and did not top off fluids. Upon arrival I advised them the " check coolant level" light had just come on two days prior to my appointment on 9/2/22. They advised they would check. Service was completed and I was advised all was good. Only 22k in miles and enjoy the car. Pulled out an coolant light came on within 10 minutes. Called them back and advised that I will monitor and advise. Over the next week, the light indicator replicated. I called them and advised and received this response. Add some water to the reservoir. I decided to go in again. No apology and the same rude tech opted to menace over me while blowing cigarette smoke in my face. Told the tech that was "trying to make the situation right" and he agreed that the tech was rude but that's because he's from Mississippi (don't know how that factored in but anyway). Tech then manually poured wiper fluid and coolant in each reservoir manually with no funnel. Making even more mess. I asked for Jeremy the manager and was advised he was out of town til the following Monday. I left a business card and asked that he contact me to discuss upon his return. I advised I would wait to review their company, pending his response to my concerns. Received no call the following Monday. Called back on Tuesday asking for the owner and was advised he no longer works there and he was now at Bluff City Range Rover. I accepted the response and ended the call. It is difficult to find automotive services that you can trust. Yet, we found one! My service light came on in my vehicle. We took my vehicle in for consult. They were thorough, attentive, and ironically enough couldn't find anything wrong with my car. They checked the valves, fluid, etc to give me peace of mind. Still nothing major resulted in the diagnostic evaluation. I went in with a perceived issue and walked out with a clean and spotless vehicle! Yep, they washed my car! Who dues that? They will never answer a straight forward question and make up several excuses of why they have to charge more after you ok the work. Then ask dumb questions like "why would you bring a car here?" Drove my GLK-350 from California and needed a service A and smelled gas outside the car with the tank full. Very friendly and helpful staff. Initial diagnosis was that the fuel pumps were leaking but Brandon was able to replace the leaking piece for half the cost. Will definitely go back again! The only confusing thing is figuring out how to walk to the office. No problem once I was directed to the red carpet. read more

Customer service has gone down hill over the past year. My mom has been a loyal customer for years, even ignoring others when they disclosed grievances about Midtown Autowerks and instead choosing to trust them. She has been getting 4 of her Mercedes serviced here and after a series of issues we will not be patrons here anymore. First, we never receive our vehicles back in one or two days.. always takes at least a week, even for something as simple as changing my brakes (which were still squeaky and upon further inspection I found out they did not change them correctly). Secondly, they have made several mistakes and then acted as though they did us a favor by correcting errors they made. For example, she had her starter replaced, then within a year she had to have it replaced again only to drive home the same day and find her car unable to crank. As I was discussing our issues with Shane he boasted about how they replaced it without charging her.... why would you charge me for something your crew did incorrectly?? Each time she's had an issue, they have used accusatory tones and have been pretty ugly to us both. I understand they run a business and want to do so as effectively as possible, but great customer service can make up for areas where actual service is lacking. After years of being loyal customers I would expect to be treated with a little more respect. They used to do such great work and I definitely felt Shane and his crew were among the best but sadly those days are over. Please take heed. read more

Being originally from Dallas and always owning European vehicles. There was plenty of places to take your car, and most shops had to keep their pricing low because of all the competition. In Memphis (Midtown Autowerks) http://midtownautowerks.com is the first shop that i have ever found... out of almost trying them all. That gives you not only Quality top notch Service in addition to treating you like a real person... Without the costly European up-charge THAT ALL THE OTHER Independent European shops, i have been to. I've been taking my cars here for service and repair for about a year now. I have 3 Mercedes and do some work on them myself, but trust Shane for all diagnostics and repairs I don't want (or am not able) to do. Shane is very honest and his labor rate is the lowest around. Yet he knows Mercedes at least as well as the guys at the dealer and does very high quality work with only genuine parts. Amazing Place, Great Customer Service. I showed up at 4pm Friday afternoon (10/17), needing a new belt and Shane ordered the part and installed it that day. They showed me the cost of the belt and the labor was extremely reasonable. The labor was actually less than I thought it would be and they really knew their stuff. I would recommend them to anyone who owns a Benz or a car for that fact. They where working on Land Rovers, Smart Cars, and various other imports. An Honest, Trustworthy mechanic is very difficult to find but I think I've found with Shane. Alicia in the office is also a plus, she is very friendly and easy to talk with if your not shy. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. Don't be fooled by their friendly demeanor. They are crooks. They installed a faulty fuel pump for $821. The car then left us stranded on a road trip and we ended up having to replace the fuel pump again. For another $800. They refused to refund our money for the parts or labor despite us continually telling them we believed the fuel pump wasn't working. Don't trust these people. My experience was not pleasant at all on July 30,2020 these are the services that I had done of course the diagnostic belt idler pulley that we had no conversation about he told me (Shane) that I was going to need a new serpentine belt because mind would tear up so he put a new one on and that one shivers to pieces but he replaced it changed oil car was supposed to change the harmonic balancer but he said that the tool broke on my car so he had to order another tool it took days before he could do the harmonic balancer and I also had a transmission fluid/filter service work description R&R A/T PAN GASKET A/T FILTER AND FLUID-REPLACED WITH NEW-REFILL TO PROPER LEVEL and my transmission failed had my car towed back to the shop and he asked me what's wrong with the car I've driven your car three times no problem you can come and pick it up the car smells like oil transmission fluid it was smoking really bad I thought the car was going to catch on fire about time I made it home I missed a part let me tell you this Shane told me that I needed a belt tensioner that's why the belt tore up the first time now mind you he's putting on parts we didn't discuss but not parts I need so when I picked up the car I was gonna go ahead and get the belt tensioner put on but Shane refuse to work on my car and asked me not to come back to his shop and he got all my money and I got a smoking car that was extremely dirty when I picked it up it looked like it was just over there under the tree collecting dirt read more

wooow this place is a complete joke they completely misdiagnosis a car and then basically change what they want to. they told me i needed new radiator hoses and a bunch of other stuff i told them not to do as it was way overpriced. when i came to pick the car up they tell me the engine block has a hole in it (after charging me for useless repairs) how do you miss a hole in the engine block????? after i asked about how this was missed in the diagnosis he told me "why did you bring me the car" and told me to fix the car myself wooow never again read more

While traveling, our Mercedes ran into a problem that threw it into limp-home-mode (drivable but not over 20 mph). We have a great mechanic in Arkansas, but couldn't make it home to him. I found Midtown Autowerks online, read great reviews, and gave them a call, pretty sure that it would end up with a sizable repair bill. They not only worked us in on a very busy day but also fixed the issue for $100! I never write reviews... Ever... But I feel compelled to do so this time. Bought a Mercedes in December 2014 and wrecked it pretty badly in May 2015. Car has never been the same and recently had an issue with the engine. Each time I bring my car here they are fast, honest, and very reasonably priced. They even replaced a part for free this time and saved me $200. Couldn't ask for better customer service. As long as I own a Mercedes, I will always bring it here to be serviced. read more
