I am a firm believer that "Customer Service" is everything, especially when I am spending my hard earned-money. I really would give a little higher rating, but it would only be for the repair work and that's all. I've been a faithful customer for many years. I was referred to Thong's and instructed to only negotiate with Thong himself and never with his wife. So, I would get an outside diagnosis of my vehicles before taking them to Thong's. I would then call Thong and he would give me a price for the labor only, and I would then pick up the parts myself. I would save money because a lot of repair shops add a mark-up or additional profit, when they furnish or buy the parts for you. Also, the labor cost negotiated with Thong was already cheaper than most places in town. Like a lot of other customer reviews, I've read, people including me, have just put up with Mrs. Thong, because the price and work was very good. However, it wears you down after a while and you just get tired of dealing with this lady. She is rude, she tries to charge more than you negotiated with Thong himself, she will try to argue with you at times, she believes she's smarter that most, and never wrong about anything. So, I've finally decided to pay a little more and take my business elsewhere. Thong should really deal with his wife and send her home and get someone else to run the office. I'm quite sure he is beginning to lose business and it will show in time, if it hasn't already affected their business. Unless of course, she's really the boss and doesn't care about business growth. I will never refer anyone to Thong's again, as I have in the past. Mrs. Thong is "BAD" for Business. Mr. A. C. . . ("A Customer Whose Had Enough") read more

The best mechanic ever.He does quality work and is professional every step of the way.

I paid $100 diagnostic for my 1992 Buick and I was having trouble getting it started so what I wanted was a proper diagnosis of the engine and perhaps a repair if I could get it. what they did was replace my coolant temperature sensor and tighten my accelerator cable and overfilled my coolant. THEN they said I had a bad engine and that it was "too expensive for you so..you should probably just leave" siting a complete engine rebuild being needed. I asked if they did a compression test, was there a timing chain failure, or if they even did a fuel pressure test to see if that was the issue and..no. they did none of that. it ended up being a faulty fuel pump. so I'm sorry if this sounds like a lot, but a shop with a reputation like that (every single person I asked about them said they were the best shop) I shouldn't have gotten a half wit answer like that and then told to go home and give up. $100 wasted when I should've done it my self to begin with. read more

I have been going to Thongs auto shop for years and they do great work . Most of my experiences with the services was a positive result .I have to say their prices has gone up but they are still cheaper then most other machanic shops. The office visit is not all laughs and smiles but it is professional. read more

Their diagnosis was helpful and I paid 100$. But unlike the Thongs I'd old. They just threw money, my money, at the problem. They estimated 1000$. I replaced two sensors in my own for 25$ total. They wanted to replace a fuel pump(not needed). And a very expensive intake- I got used for 60$ just in case. Can't recommend them. They never tested fuel pressure! No way to tell fuel pump was needed. read more

No stars. I experienced Mrs. Thong as having a bad day so she decided to be rude turn me away when I ask for a exact time estimate. She was completely nice on the phone a couple of days prior. I have been referred here twice. She gave me a mix of hour and then said it may be all day. No one spoke or smiled. I never understood how automotive and car repair industry people feel the need to be rude and dismissive and still have nerve to over charge. Lol. read more

I just felt a very gratuitous "Thank you" was in order for Thong's entire (& wonderful) staff. One hell of a family business which by merely existing within this community was a Godsend for me. Not sure about everything other auto repair shops provide, but having Thong's available means there's not much of a need to learn what competitors are able or willing to avail. read more

Man honestly I feel like they let me down. I was hearing so much good stuff about thongs auto shop so I decided to bring my car in. I have a 2006 Chevy impala lTZ and I brought it in to get the transmission swapped out for another one. They had my car for over 2 months and when they called and told me to come pick it up my car was smoking severely as soon as you get on the road. Then they gave me the run around even before that, not answering the phone, not calling me to let me know if my car was ready, I had to call them. Picked up my car and brought it back 3 times because it kept smoking so bad soon as you start driving, it wasn't doing this before I dropped it off. Long story short, $2000 later my car still doesn't drive and has been having electrical issues ever since I took my car to them. Yea 1/10. read more

Fantastic, knowledgable, friendly and cost-friendly. What more can you ask for? The nice girl working the front desk asked me what the problem was and immediately came out and diagnosed it in a blink of an eye. Tough to find honest repair places nowadays so if you need a repair close to downtown this would be my best recommendation. read more

This is the worst and most racist place you can take your car to. I took my car there to get fixed and then they gave me a out of the water price that is ridiculously too high and after a week or so I came back to pick it up because I did not have $4000 for a new motor which wasn't even the case. They towed my car and told me that it has been sitting in a tow yard for the past week without even notifying me so I had to go pick up my vehicle and I had to pay the towing charges as well as a week worth of days inside the storage. I went back to the shop and told them why did you guys tell my vehicle without notifying me they said it was a broken down vehicle so we decided to throw it away which was a ridiculous answer for a customer that comes to them all the time. AnyWho I picked up my vehicle from The towing and recovery Place and found out that it was just a sensor that was needed to be replaced and I replaced it for $50 parts and $80 labor and that fixed the car as good as new and they told me that it needed a new motor. Anyway I will not recommend anybody to take the car there for anything. read more

I dropped my car off here on a Friday morning. I called Monday morning and was told they would call when they know something. WEDNESDAY the woman called and said come get your key we can't do anything. I went to get my key hoping for a better explanation as to why it took 5 days for them to say they couldn't help me. She had a nasty attitude and literally shooed me away with her hand and said "you go to another shop". I asked to speak to the mechanic and was refused. I only went here based off the positive reviews but I would never go back or recommend them. read more

Dont judge a book by its cover. Places looks like a shade tree mechanic shop on the outside. But great people that are Hardworking and knowledgable on the inside and have competitive prices. These guys know what they are doing. Only downside is because he does such good work. There can be a long wait time due to him being backed up due to everyone going to him getting there cars fixed. He cant keep up with demand sometimes. I have a Mitsubishi 3000 GT. These cars are reliable but can be finicky as hell to work on. I needed my 60,000 maintenance done on my ride. Which is replacing timing belt, water cooler, thermostat, seals and gaskets, and so on. Firestone wanted to charge me $2500 dollars. This guy charged me $1350 and thats including me getting my wiring harness rewired. Been taking my car to him for years. If he could find a way to expand his lot for cars that are waiting and cut the turnaround time down this would easily be 5 stars. read more

Thong's the MAN. He knows Honda's and Toyota's like the back of his hand. His background building them in the factories for a total of 14 years (8 yrs Toyota, 6 yrs Honda) serves him well. I've been going there for 10 years. He has saved me lots of money. Replaced an engine, transmission, everything else, multiple times. If you'd rather not buy a new car, let him fix yours or even rebuild it (then you know what you've got!) Prices are the very best I have found. He is trustworthy and professional. Highly recommended. read more

My vehicle was not starting on 11.01.17 so I had it towed to Thong's Repair Shop. They called after a few days and told me what was wrong and that is would be 750.00. I told them no problem and to go ahead with the repairs. On 11.17.17 I called to see had the vehicle been fixed (since they had it 16days) and they said yes, come pick it up. Got to the shop, paid the 750.00 and they brought the car out. Once I got in my car IT DIDNT START. The owner put a booster cable on the battery and started it right up. He said it was only doing that because it had been sitting and it should be fine once I get to driving it. Well today 11.20.17 I went outside to take my daughter to school and the car didn't start. We called the owner and he said " Oh yea...she needs a new battery". The problem I have is why wasn't I told this before they released my vehicle to me. Why would they give a customer a car that they KNEW had other issues. I didn't tell them what I thought was wrong with my car, they told me so why wasn't a battery a part of what I got repaired. I could have been stranded anywhere at any time of the day all for a simple issue that needed to be fixed. On top of them giving me a car they had not been "fixed" they are not answering the phones. I am very disappointed in the service that I have been given and would like to be contacted to resolve this matter. Now I am out of additional money for tow, rental car and repair when they knew I needed a new battery when it was in their shop in the first place read more

I went to Thong's auto repair for a hood replacement on my 96 Toyota Camry. I was told it would be $100 to replace the hood (if I brought my own hood) and a hood latch. I went there and was about to leave my car then another gentleman stopped me and said it will be $200 to replace everything if the car need a hood release cable and to pull a slight bend out of the radiator support cage. I said ok that's fine. I didn't have the money to repair it then because I thought it was just the hood and the latch. So I returned about two weeks later with a different hood already put on and new hood struts. I went to get the bent radiator support cage, latch and hood release cable fixed. The date I went back to them was 04/29/2016. I told them what I needed done and they still quoted me the $200 price. I received a phone call from the lady at the desk and she told me that he couldn't take the bend out of the radiator support cage and that it needed to be replaced, ok. The hood release cable was fine as well and didn't need to be replaced. Then she says it still would be $200 just to put a latch on, I then got upset because I was originally told $200 for everything. One thing I don't like is someone trying to beat me out of my money. So I don't recommend this place to anyone, for that kind of price I could have just went to the Toyota dealership and got it fixed and not at some second rate mechanic shop. read more
