My friends noticed a flapping sound underneath the car because a piece had not been secured. The Firestone shop in Jackson found my tires were not aligned and were wearing so severely because of this they could have exploded on Interstate 40. I had to pay for a full realignment and two new tires in Jackson, to the tune of $900+. I had only had these tires for 18 months, installed in 2024 at Costco. I have not received any reimbursement from Caliber or from Steve's after this faulty work could have cost my friends and I our lives.

I would not bring your car here unless for regular maintenance and you didn't have another choice…read more I brought a Ford Taurus SHO here when it was it was having a misfire issue. The car threw a CEL check engine light and said to stop driving so I took it to the closest shop I could. That was a mistake. They. Told me they would look at it, but did not want to listen to anything I had to say. I tried to tell them the car was modified and had full bolt ons. They didn't want to hear it and acted like they knew how to handle anything. Ila few days go by while they work on other cars and then I guess they start looking at it. They call back saying it needs coils and plugs. Keep in mind the coils and plugs had lasts than 50k miles on them. So I tell them to go ahead. They end up charging me 1,600$ for a job that takes a competent mechanic maybe an hour to do. They charged me more than double what the spark plugs cost ANYWHERE. Okay fine they need to make their money whatever. They charge me 500-600 for coils. They called me a day or two later saying the car was done. I go to pick it up and make it Maybe 5 minutes down the road before the problem reappears. I call them back. They state they are closed so bring the car back tomorrow. Okay great so I drive it miss-firing the whole time the 12-15 minutes home. I bring it back the next day and ask what is the deal. The service writer proceeds to tell me the turbos are likely bad. I ask what he bases that off of. He talks out of his behind making no logical sense. Keep in mind the car had new turbos installed maybe 20k miles ago, which they would have known had they taken any time to listen to me. I had already paid at this point so I was going to get it resolved. Another day goes by and they call me back stating it is ready. I asked what the problem was. I asked did they compare the spark plugs they pulled out of it to the new ones? Shocker they did not. They out factory plugs in my non factory car that were not the same temperature hot/cold rating. I asked them to get me the right plugs. They said they would warranty out the old ones but never did. I asked several times did they change all the coils or just one and I never got a straight answer. Needless to say a few months later the issue comes back. I decided to do it myself this time, which is really what I should have done the first time. Come to find I had one NGK plug and 5 Motorcraft Ford Plug. Tell me if they did my plugs how did I have a mismatched set??! So at this point I can't trust that they changed all six coils and I end up having to redo what I overpaid them 1,600$ to do. It took me about 2 hours. Keep in mind I work healthcare IT and am not a mechanic. I work on things when I have to but I don't enjoy it. Long story short I would not trust this place for anything. I wouldn't trust them to put the oil you pay for if you use anything but the cheapest oil. Let them plug a tire maaaybe. The rest please save yourself the hassle and frustration and go somewhere else.

I got there the next morning right when they were opening. Neither guy seemed happy to see me, but did a great job in fixing the tire and putting the spare back underneath my truck. They charged $25 for the patch which is different than a plug... they had to take the entire tire off the wheel and patch it from the inside and put it all back together, etc.. It's the only way to permanently fix a tire, plugs are garbage. When I was paying, I asked the guy if I could buy him lunch and he said that would be great so I gave him 60 and said keep the change, then he seemed happy!!

The employee admitted to losing it and shrugged off the responsibility and put it on her to have to pay for another one. This was the most expensive used tired shop I have visited with prices being 50% more than other places. I could get 3 tires elsewhere for only 2 here and it's no-name low quality brands. Plus there is a charge for them keeping the old tire. And they charge you for air and their sign says they charge you more if they put in the air rather than you. What tire shop charges for putting air in and expects you to do it or pay more? The employees were having verbal skuffs with each other. Not friendly to customers. Would only visit here as a last option. Low in customer service and accountability. Upper area on price.

I took my car up to Steve's because it's close to my neighborhood and I've never used them before…read morebut thought I'd give them a try. My clutch pedal was starting to lose pressure. This is something I've had fixed before by simply replacing a faulty slave or master cylinder. I let them know this while describing the issue. After saying this was most likely the issue, I was asked if the clutch had been replaced. Later I got a call back and they said that I was getting good pressure with the cylinders and that wasn't the issue. Instead that I was going to have to get the clutch replaced. I walked back up there and paid the $150 "diagnosis" fee that increased to $187 upon payment, citing taxes but not mentioning the $15 fees added. I told them I was going to get another opinion. A mechanic I know that changed the cylinder last time took the air filter off and checked the slave cylinder and showed me that fluid was leaking out very noticeably. Steve's hadn't bothered to even check the cylinders or they would have seen fluid leaking out. I'm guessing they just took it into the bay and pushed the clutch and decided I need a whole new clutch. My friend mechanic ordered a $60 part, the faulty slave cylinder, and the car is back running just like it was before. So Steve's got my $187, but not another cent from me. I hope it was worth it for them to get a small amount from me on the short end instead of a trusted customer in the long run. Avoid these crooks!
