I took my car to Take 5 Oil Change for a simple oil change, and while I was there, the clerk suggested I get a coolant flush. I told him I did not have enough cash for the service at the time and would come back later for it. Later that same day, while driving, my car started smoking. I pulled over and discovered that the coolant tube had been left unhooked from the engine. I reported this to Take 5 and spoke with the manager, Zach, who initially said that he reviewed the cameras and arranged for my car to be towed to their mechanic at Edward's Transmission. After getting the repair estimate, Zach told me they weren't going to do anything to help cover the cost, leaving me completely on my own for an issue that was caused by their negligence. After this situation, I contacted cooperate several times and was told that it was going to be escalated and that i would receive a phone call back, and never received that call. This was extremely unprofessional and careless. A routine oil change should not result in engine damage and an expensive repair. I've been without a car since July 5 and i reached back out to Zach to see if they would at least tow my vehicle from their mechanic to my home and was told that they would not cover anything. I will never return to Take 5 and strongly advise others to think twice before trusting them with their vehicle. read more

Just left! Great experience! We typically try to stop at the location on Keystone because it's closest to us from work and we like to get there before 7 out of respect for their time. Unfortunately when we went there today they gave excuses on helping and said they didn't know how to use an evac. Evac is needed because the stripped the threading last time. Thankfully I called this location who said they could help! Zach was very welcoming on the call! We arrived and they were ready to service us. We got there at 6:30 later than we'd like but even with that they didn't rush or anything. They explained the steps and process very well. Top notch service! I've been sitting in my turned off car inside being ignored for 20 minutes. I'm about to just leave ! Any other Take5 that I have been to have almost always welcomed me with a water and candy, while letting me know how long everything would take. This guy parked me here and 10 minutes later/ago someone asks for my miles and told me to turn my car off, so no clue when someone or if someone will actually change my oil here, but this service sucks and they are seemingly insanely understaffed to not be able to even acknowledge more than 2 cars with 3 bays! Finally after 25 minutes 2 guys came over asked me to pop my hood and stuck a pole under it, then immediately the third guy who seemed to be in charge said "no not that one I need you guys over on this one" pointing to a car that literally just got there! I said if you guys are going to keep ignoring me, please shut my hood so I can leave! I have NEVER had such horrible service at a take5, but I absolutely will never return after that, at least not this location EVER! One of the guys didn't even know what to do and said to the other he needed his help, to what? Raise the hood on my car?!! No way am I trusting that!! read more

Quality and timeliness have suffered. I bring four vehicles here regularly. Today's visit wasn't quality or quick. 1 hour and 10 min from getting into the facility to finish. If short-staffed, it would have been nice for the attendant to give customers that info before being trapped in a bay. Staff / employee: - were not familiar with Ford Ranger oil filter location. - used their own t-shirt to clean oil dipstick - took out and used a vape while standing over my engine bay - didn't check or offer to check cabin filter (even though Take 5 use this as a marketing tool) - mentioned he's going to wash my windshield, but stood there silently waiting for me to say 'no'. Considering taking vehicles elsewhere and recommending other do the same. Only redeeming grace is a nice military discount, of which cannot be used together with other discounts. Since you no longer cane get $19.99 oil changes I decided to come here due to having a coupon a few years back and haven't been anywhere else since. I got to different locations due to them having free oil top offs after an oil change, and every single one I've been to have been professional. They greet you with a water and Take 5 ! Ask what service is needed. Get the service completed in a timely manner. They top off air , windshield wiper fluid , clean your windshield, make any recommendations on new wipers or coolant exchange and you're good to go. No appointment needed, just pull up. I've been getting oil changes for a long time and most places just want to find something to fix on your car. Not Take 5 ! If you really need it they will recommend it if not they send you on your way. I've never had a bad experience here. It seems like everyone is happy to be at work and work together as a team. There are times when I'm willing to pay a little more for peace of mind and quality. Take 5 has become our go-to oil changing service for that reason. We drive old, paid off cars. That doesn't mean I want a cheap oil change. I first went to Take 5 because they offer an option for Mobil 1, High Mileage oil. It's a little more expensive, but I want my vehicles to keep going for a long time! We showed up for the oil but have been back several times for the service. Today they helped me with a coolant exchange ($99) that I wasn't anticipating. They showed me the problem, didn't apply any sales pressure and encouraged me to Google the service and come back if I had questions. Google confirmed "it's a thing" and also showed me that their price was more than fair. It's easy to get in and out. The service has always been great... AND I know I'm getting a top quality product put in my car that will help the engine to keep running smoothly for thousands of miles. read more

I can't say more wonderful things about Take 5! My oil change light came on a few months ago so I popped into Take 5. They checked my oil levels and told me I still had a few thousand miles to go and didn't need to get a change yet. Read that again! They were honest and straightforward. I feel like that is so hard to come by in the car maintenance world. So when it was actually time for my oil to get changed last week, I knew I had to go back to Take 5! There were a couple of cars getting oil changes when I pulled in around 5p but I was listening to a pod so it felt like it went quickly. The most convenient part of Take 5 is that you never leave your car! That's right. You just pull right into the garage and let them do their thing. I was offered both a reeses and a bottle of water. It's like they knew the way to my heart. The staff people worked quickly and efficiently. And they continued to earn my trust! They took out my air filter and showed me how clean it was mentioning that it did not need changing yet. I knew my tires were getting low so they filled them up so I'd be set for winter. I was asked if I had a coupon to use so I started to look on my phone but then the staff person said he could just use one he had for $10 off bringing my total to $63. I've found my new place! This is my 3rd visit to Take 5 but my 2nd oil change. When i first visited them last year they checked my oil and told me my oil was still clean and there was no need for an oil change. Yes they showed me the oil to see it was still clean. I thanked them and promised to return when it was time. That right there made me a customer! In this time of COVID, I was really excited about being able to stay in my car for an oil change instead of having to either sit at the dealership or stand outside in the cold while I waited. I noticed Take 5 had opened, so I dropped in. It was around lunchtime and they were able to take me pretty much right away. Someone guided me into the bay very carefully (I'm sure I'm not the only person who is terrified they'll plunge their car into the lower level!!) and then I rolled my window down to answer some questions. I was told that the only oil they had available for my car was an $89-something synthetic for high-mile engines. Whether or not that was true, I have no idea ... and not knowing enough about cars to call their bluff if they were just trying to upsell me, I went ahead with it. Very similar to Jiffy Lube and places like that, they did the whole "oh, look how dirty your air filter is" thing. I don't like feeling like people are trying to sell me unnecessary items, so I deducted a star for that/the price (at least $30 more than I pay at the dealership for my oil changes). read more

I was first greeted with a chilled bottle of water and directed to drive right in and remained in my car as they advertise. There were 3 gentlemen in total working on my car and all of them were extremely friendly and courteous. They added air to my tires, added windshield washer fluid, cleaned my windshield added premium oil and oil filter. I was extremely happy with the total experience from start to finish! I was excited to be able to go to a new place to get an oil change I seen it on Facebook where if you put your email you get a coupon for 25% off, they had 3 stalls and all were filled when I pulled up. It was only 5 minutes before a car pulled out and it was my turn. The young man came to the window and asked if I was there for as oil change and handed me a fun size Take 5 candy bar and a bottle of water which I thought ...how nice anywho I thought the only service they provided was an oil change, However after pulling into the stall I noticed they had wipers and other products they provided. I took pictures of all of the items sitting around to show you, I wasn't sure what everything was. He asked me about my make and model of the car and mileage and looked on his computer to tell me exactly how many quarts of oil I would need and then pointed to the price list which was separated by mileage to ask which did I want. Then he had me pop the trunk to start and after being under my hood for about 5 mins he called the other guy over and then they came to me to inform me they could not change my oil because of a bar or something the manufacturer put on the car and normally they put it in the front but on my car it's in the front and go all the way to the back and the only way they could do it is....if they had a lift. I decided to try out Take 5 because I didn't want to wait over a week for an oil change appointment. I called ahead and they promised I'd be in and out within 15 minutes. As soon as I drove go they offered me a cold bottle of water and a candy bar. The service was great. The employee I interacted with most, Devin, was thorough, competent, and charming. After the oil change was complete, they went out of their way to help me troubleshoot an issue I've been having in my car display. In regards to COVID policies, all employees wore masks and all of the payment was done through your car window... you don't even have to leave the car! Take 5 Michigan Rd Indianapolis is the only one I use. Recently had an oil change and added in the coolant flush. When they removed my lid, a piece broke off and fell inside. They attempted to retrieve it with no luck. They paid for an Uber home and towed my car to a mechanic shop. The shop tried to remove the piece with no luck as well so Take 5 paid for a replacement of my radiator to make sure that piece didn't travel through to my engine and damage it! Not even necessarily their fault but they didn't hesitate to take care of me. They have made a loyal customer in me and I won't go anywhere but there for my oil changes. read more

While the staff was nice and accommodating, my routine oil change at this location ultimately cost me over $1,000 in repairs. An incorrect oil plug was installed and then over tightened leading to warping and deformation of the oil pan. Oil began leaking profusely immediately after visit. I returned to Take 5 location and they said the "fixed" the issue, but the oil leak only got far worse after that. Entire oil pan had to be replaced due to the damages caused. I've reached out to location and corporate offices, but haven't gotten a reply. It appears proper training needs to happen. I suggest steering clear of this location given what I just went through in expense and hassle. read more
