My wife and I stopped by for lunch as a long weekend treat today. We started with the avocado fries, which are basically panko tempura-ed avocado slices. So good, and the spicy mayo sauce was just right. My wife had the salmon katsu bento while I had the tofu peanut bento. The salmon was perfectly cooked, fresh and delicious. Amazing meal! Was craving sushi after visiting Salem and stumbled across Takami. Found that they offered Vietnamese and Thai food as well so we ended up ordering a Thai dish in addition to our sushi. Coastal maki: the soft shell crab with a tempura coating was crispy but not oily or heavy. Very delicious without being fishy. Mackerel: very delicious and wish we ordered more nigiri pieces. Khao soi: very flavorful and they might have even added an extra chicken leg for us because we asked for an extra bowl to share between two of us which is so sweet! read more

So so impressed with my entire experience here! First- it's so welcoming inside. Beautifully decorated, soft music playing, clean and bright. The waitstaff was friendly and knowledgeable, food came out so quickly! Every single drink and dish gets an a+ for presentation and taste. As someone with a gluten allergy, I'm so grateful that their menu was clearly marked with allergens and that when I ordered a gluten free item, they knew enough to make sure that I didn't get any sauces with gluten either. Love being the first to give these guys five stars! Absolutely adorable place walking distance to the Cabot. Recently opened and the place was full! Servers and sushi chefs were hustling like crazy with smiles on their faces to keep up and did a good job doing so. We got a wide variety of sushi bar things and cooked things. All was most excellent. Avocado fries were big fat pieces of avocado served with spicy mayo. Cranberry crab Rangoon were yummy and different. Well we showed up to this new place, unsure that the reviews were real. But we love South East Asian food so we decided to give it a shot. We had food from the Thai side of the menu and everything was great!! The chicken wings were crispy with the sauce on the side. The pork skewers were great. The khao sooo was lightly spicy and full of flavor and the pork with rice was great too!! All the sauces seemed to be homemade and were lovely! Definitely not your run of the normal sauces. Me and my friends are on a mission to find the best sushi places in the North Shore and was so pumped to find this spot in downtown Bev! It was so cute and cozy in there with a colorful mural and cute decor, and warm wood interior. The food was amazing so fresh and decently affordable. The service was pretty slow, but since they just opened I'm not too upset and won't rate them low because of that. But very excited to go back and try there Thai food next time! read more

I took a friend here for lunch last week and while she was happy with her meal, I was not. There were no spring rolls -- or it turned out to not be an option with the dish I chose even though it was printed as such on the menu; in any case the waitress said I could not order spring rolls which I'd been looking forward to. I also hoped I could order hot Thai tea which is always on the menu at Thai restaurants, but was told that only iced was available. Lastly, the broccoli in my main dish was raw and super hard. It would have been so much better if it had been even lightly parboiled. Sadly, I don't think I would ever visit this restaurant again. read more

Tried this new and wonderful sushi/Thai place last Friday. I was so impressed with the food and service that I have been here three times in just 8 days. I had the crispy duck the first time here and it was delicious and exotic. The next time I tried the "sashimi lovers" offering and I can say it was among the best tasting and beautifully presented sashimi dinners I've ever had. The salad and miso soup that come with the entrees are also excellent. I'm now planning to take my kids when they visit from out of town. I wish this lovely family business the best of luck. Takami is a wonderful addition to Cabot Street. It's a lovely space, open and inviting, and the restaurant team members are welcoming and gracious.
