Wonderful experience and meal! Madame greeted us with open arms and served two fresh Heineken beers before we sat down.. food recommendations were above point! Irbraham's service was just better than enough to several recommendations and continued through attention during our meal and beers in Amsterdam. Thank you for helping us enjoy Amsterdam! Highly recommended! John and Marie

Could not resist having an Indian meal in Amsterdam. After a few hours of walking around, the choice was between something local and a highly rated Indian restaurant. It was an easy decision for me. I was happy to see they served Kingfisher beer. After drinking Heineken with almost all meals, it was time to make a change :). They served spicy papad with mint and tamarind chutney for starters. Tasted great with the beer. Ordered the Madras Chicken Curry - it was presented well and tasted great. I also ordered biryani to-go based on recommendation from the staff for my dinner for the following day. Service was a winner! It was nice to enjoy some Indian hospitality and I totally enjoyed my meal here. The restaurant is centrally located and is a few minutes walk from the Heineken Experience. Pricing : Moderate to high Will I return? : For sure. Recommended the restaurant to a friend who is a local.

Great food , service was excellent! Highly recommend after a day at the Heineken experience. Try the vindaloo if you love spice.

Best indian restaurant in Amsterdam? Well, we only tried this one we were here and it was the best Indian I've had in years! With already great review on Yelp, we decided to try this restaurant which was also close to our apartment. We did not have a reservation and we were surprised to see that the restaurant was almost packed, thankfully we had arrived early and we only waited a few minutes a the counter. A traditional indian restaurant with only indian staff, a very detailed menu, and great service. Exquisite food and drinks. If you love spicy, this is it! I was quite happy with my choice of lamb biryani. The meals is served in the center on the table which makes it easier to share. The portions are large so come with a empty stomach if you want to finish your meal! Really a great place for a meal with a very friendly staff.

Service was wonderful. Very attentive and went out of there way to make sure we were happy with our food. The chicken soup was slightly spicy for to black pepper however nothing else was. Portion sizes were deceptively large. We ordered 2 fixed menus and had 1/3 of the food left over. Would definitely return when back in Amsterdam.

Lamb vindaloo

We visited here shortly before closing on a weeknight last month. I chose the lamb vindaloo and he chose the chicken tandoori (sorry, no pics of that because it was devoured) and some garlic naan. The food was adequately spicy and was fresh and delicious, even at closing time. If I lived there, I'd be visiting all the time. The food was authentic and the flavor was great.

Awesome food and even better service. We ordered butter paneer and dal fry along with onion pakora. Best tandoori roti I ever had. Soft and not burnt. We liked the food so much we ended up going again in our short visit of 4 days. Definitely recommend.

Definitely, some of the best Indian food I've ever had and I've had a lot! We stumbled across this place after a tour and were pretty hungry so didn't really care about the rating. When I looked it up on Yelp, I was shocked to see it have a near perfect rating so I was excited to see how good this place could be. For a starter, they brought in papads, but with dipping sauces which I had never really seen before. One of the dipping sauces was a sweet chutney while the other was more creamy. Both were really good with the papad. For the main course, I ordered a Paneer Butter Masala curry (comes with rice) and a garlic naan on the side. The curry is definitely more than enough for 1 and probably not quite enough for two people. Also, they give you rice to share with the table so it is recommended that you also get a side of naan to finish your curry. The curry was incredible. Extremely rich and creamy, but was still enjoyable to eat. The paneer was cooked extremely well - very chewy, but also lightly crisp on the edges. The garlic naan was also some of the best I've ever had. Very fluffy and actually tasted like garlic. It was one of the few times it felt actually worth paying extra for the garlic naan. The rice was also not just plain basmati, but a fried rice and was also very good with all of the vegetables in it. Overall the rice and curry tasted great, and the naan and curry we absolutely incredible. The service does take a long time, especially for naan, but all of the food is absolutely worth the wait. If you're in the area, definitely come check this place out!

We had the Keema Naan, lamb Birriani, and aloo saag

Met my fiancée by her office for a date night. The food was delicious and the portions of meat very generous. We had the lamb Birriani, the aloo saag and keema naan. We will be back here regularly to try the rest of the menu. The staff was incredibly helpful, attentive and kind. This is clearly a family business, with plenty of attention to detail both in the cuisine, the presentation and the cute decor. All in all a lovely evening. Go here. You'll thank me!

I was only able to get tickets for the AFH for a 6:15 p.m. tour, meaning we got finished around 8 p.m. Hence, this became our late dinner option that day. I wasn't sure how busy they would be, but I guess we arrived late enough so that they had a few tables available. The restaurant is located on a fairly busy street (served by trams, which we later used to get back to the Central Station area). It is only a few doors down from one of the canals. The menu indicated that they had been in business since the 1980s, so they must be doing something right. As an added reference point, they are about a 20-minute walk from the Central Station. We arrived and were greeted and shown to a table near the front of the restaurant. It seemed to extend quite a way back, but I didn't have a reason to venture further in. Our server was friendly and provided menus and took our drink orders. I know they had wine but I don't know if they had a full bar. There were certainly several tables of Americans and Brits who appeared to be well served in that regard, so maybe there was a bar... The menu was fairly extensive, with an appreciable overlap with dishes we were familiar with from Indian places in the U.S. We all found something to our taste. I think we ended up with a couple of vegetarian curry dishes and one that was chicken-based. We also got naan and rice. Everything was good, and given the lateness of dinner (for us), we were hungry. When the food came out, they also brought one warming stand per dish. This was something new that we encountered at a couple of restaurants on this trip. This is probably more relevant in the winter months, but it kept the food hot. I'd likely return here for another meal if I'm ever back in Amsterdam.

Very elegant interior, with tasteful decor, soft ambient music, best for couples, but also able to accommodate larger groups with a reservation. We were seated right away and greeted by our server Sona, very gracious, patient, attentive, and professional. She asked about any allergies and then took our order of chicken tikka saag and chicken tikka masala, both medium spiciness (also asked if we would like Indian medium or European medium--we chose Indian medium). These entrees come with rice, and we also ordered garlic naan. Immediately, they brought chilled bottled water and complimentary thin crispy cracker like bread with red sauce and green sauce (I didn't catch the names). I liked the green sauce better (mint), and my husband liked the red one better (tamarind)--both were lovely. About 20 minutes later, our entrees arrived piping hot, and cooked to perfection! Tender chicken, savory rich flavors in the masala and saag, both the right level of spicy for us! Glad we had enough rice and water! Excellent restaurant --Sona was amazing and the whole experience delicious!

The lamb saag was absolutely delicious and the salad was quite good as well. We weren't huge fans of the mixed tandoori plate, the flavors weren't very developed and it needed more spice, but we were overall satisfied with the service and the dining experience. It appears from the other reviews that the momos are one of the best things to eat here, but I personally couldn't because I am gluten free, so considering how delicious the saag is, I bet dishes other than the tandoori are very delicious as well! Overall I would recommend this place.
