Me: No. (Peeked in to see one long table in an otherwise empty restaurant). Greeter: We don't have baby chair. Does your baby need one? Me: No, she's fine with a regular chair. Greeter: (Looks into restaurant like he struggling with a major decision) For a few seconds, I really thought this dude was going to turn us away from the ten or so other tables inside, but the moment passes as he leads us in and hands us an album of a menu. Despite all the options, we stuck to what we know and love: Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, Malai Kofta, and Saag Paneer, with a mixed basket of naan. Only the CTM was a full entree which came with rice, but the curry itself was smaller than the other two curries, which were listed as Sides. The naan breads and SP were great, but the Tikka Masala and Malai Kofta were much sweeter than what we're used to. We were staying at a nearby hotel. Very extensive menu especially for starters. Service was excellent and very attentive servers. Food was also great. Had 3 main entrees and multiple naans between 4 of us. All were excellent and authentic. Tried to convince them to open a restaurant in South Carolina but they wanted to stay where they are. We will be back on our next trip to Amsterdam. read more

We made a reservation online - 1830- and arrived JUST before the place filled up completely so MAKE A RESERVATION FOLKS! (Btw, this was on a Tuesday night so keep that in mind and PLEASE make a reservation). It smelled AMAZING when we walked in and we were not disappointed. There were 4 of us and we shared all of the things that we ordered and it was a lot of food but we managed to eat most all of it. I finished my bindi (okra) for breakfast this morning! Papadum and several sauces were brought to the table while we were waiting on our food. The green sauce is completely different than I'm used to, very little spice, but the tamarind sauce was lovely and there was another chutney/sauce that was also a bit sweet that was served with the papadum. For starters we shared samosas (2 per order, good sized), chicken 65 (good sized for four people sharing, probably the best I've ever had. It had fried curry leaves as garnish and it was heavenly) and lamb momos (4 per order and be warned that the sauce is HOT, like nuclear HOT! When I told that to our waiter he laughed and told me that they had a green sauce that was even spicier so you can try that if you're feeling frisky but you've been warned!). All were good but I would get the chicken 65 a hundred times just because it was so yummy. For dinner we split the chicken jalfrezi, lamb saag, bindi masala (spiced okra), chana masala (I think it's called amritsari chole on their menu. I had to ask which one was the "right" one but I don't think there is a bad choice here), bhartha (mashed spiced eggplant) and garlic naan. Ohmygod everything was AMAZING! We had not eaten much so we ate until we hurt and brought a spoonful of the eggplant home and most of the bindi. It was a LOT of food but all of it was amazing! The service was good, food was amazing, comfy setting, just perfect for a chilly, rainy night. Try this place folks! read more

I was staying at a hotel nearby and passed this restaurant and just decided to go in. I was impressed with the extensive menu and ordered two of the chaat story items. They were both just so amazingly delicious! Service was excellent! I would love to return if I ever visit Amsterdam again. read more

Absolutely loved Tulsi! One of my friends who lives in Amsterdam took us to this spot because he knew I was craving Indian food. The restaurant was packed when went there, but because of my friends connections with the owner, we got a table on a busy Saturday night. We had Nan bread, basmati rice, butter chicken, chicken kebab and more (I cant recall all of the food items we ordered, but you can see it all in the images I posted). The restaurant is very fancy, and ideal spot to dine with family and friends. The restaurant is located in the city center, so its ideal for tourist to get here either via walk, public transportation or ride sharing. One thing I liked is they also served Indian beer at the restaurant (Cant eat Indian food without a Kingfisher beer) I had a great experience, and expect me to be back when I am in Amsterdam. read more

Having Indian food after so many days feels like wow. and Tulsi restaurant made my evening a lot better by serving great dishes. Since we were just two of us . Wow couldn't try a lot on the menu, but I'm surely going there again to satisfy my taste buds. So my husband and I went there today and ordered tangri , butter chicken, garlic naan, butter nan. OMG. I've only been once so this is just my first impression. It wasn't bad it wasn't great it just fell right in the middle and I didn't find it to be exceptional or special in any way. The wait staff was friendly and there's a huge room so waiting For a table doesn't seem like it would ever be a problem. I had a pleasant evening with my day and there wasn't anything that would keep me from going back so possibly I can update this review with more stars at another time. read more

This was a super meal. We ordered several dishes for the table and all were excellent. The only slightly negative comment I have is that it did take a little long for our dinner to be served, but the outstanding food and attentive service from who I think was the owner made up for that slight criticism. We chose this place because it was close to our Amstel hotel. After a short tram ride, we walked down the block and could smell the beautiful aromas of Tulsi before we entered the building. With low lighting and comfortable seating, this place was relaxing from the first moments. The service was efficient and friendly, food was amazing, and house wine is reasonable and tasty. I was first deterred by the one star rating. We luckily still went here though, to try ourselves. The restaurant looks really nice, but it is not exactly cozy because of how big it is. We were seated and served by friendly staff. Then we got yummy papadam on the house. But after not getting our drinks for 20 minutes we asked, and they told us they hadn't forgotten them. 5 minutes later we just got the ordered mango lassi (which tasted really good according to my friend, and was reasonably priced with 3€ for a small glass). Again, they had forgotten my water. Additionally it took quite a while to get our food. About 35 minutes, although it was pretty empty. My friend had mattar paneer which she would give a 4/5 and I had a potato pea curry. They were really flexible, as they were able to make it vegan. Also a 4/5 for me. I ordered extra hot, it still was fairly mild though. After telling them this, they made up for it, by serving me hot sauce. Overall this was a solid experience. Nice staff, good food and pleasant seating, for a fair price. (26€ for 2x rice, 2x vegetarian dishes, tap water and a mango lassi) read more

Visiting from US. Went to Tulsi for Dinner and it was hands down the best food I have had outside India. We ordered Mango Lassi, Paneer tikka which came with rice and amazing side of kaala Chana, Paneer butter masala and butter naan. Each of these dishes were just amazing. We got complimentary papad.
