    Beef tomato noodles soup
    Jenny M.

Lot of people said their food is very authentic and tastes good. I believe people's reviews and their experiences. So I decided to give it a try after church on Sunday. We got there. Inside was so dark and felt dirty; we sat at the table that had a big trash can behind my dad. Anyway, we looked at the menu - my parent was like $18 for a beef noodle soup? Everything was $15 and up. I told them just to order. I told myself the food better be good. My mom wanted to order soy sauce chicken leg, but they ran out. I wanted to order oyster intestine noodle, but they ran out, so I told my mom I won't trust the place to order beef noodle soup. I ordered pork chop rice and a soup. Dad ordered beef tenders dry noodles soup. Mom wanted clear broth beef noodle soup, but they didn't have it either, so she had no other option but to order beef tomato noodle soup. To be honest, when they served the soup, I couldn't believe they served the soup in a small to-go container. The soup wasn't hot at all. Mom ate it and said it tasted funny. The beef was dry, the soup tasted starchy. The noodle waiter said it had fresh hand-pulled noodles. No, it didn't. I had one bite of it, and it didn't have the right texture. It tasted like flour. Yes, it's made with flour, but it didn't taste right. It just felt like you put dough inside the soup. Dad's dry noodles weren't dry; they contained some soup, and it looked the same as my mom's - like tomato broth. My pork chop rice was huge, but the pork chop didn't have any flavor, and I could see MSG on top of the pork chop. The ground pork meat tasted sour. Overall, it was the worst Taiwanese food I've ever had, and it was overpriced. I don't see how those people gave 5-star reviews when it didn't taste good at all. I'm sorry, but I will never go back again. For a 3-person meal, we spent $75 - ridiculously expensive and tasted awful.

I've been coming here for years (very glad they survived the pandemic) but never wrote a review. This quaint little cafe switches between self service and full service depending on if they have wait staff hired. The old guy sitting at the cashiers counter is the owner. The cafe is pretty laid back; when you come in, you're asked to seat yourself wherever. Menus are laminated and you're given a marker to make your choices. They have a food menu with pretty standard Taiwanese cuisine and they recently added a full drinks menu for Taiwanese milk teas. The cafe is usually pretty empty on most days but despite that they've managed to stay afloat for years. I've heard that they can get busy during mealtimes. They don't have ceramic plates. Instead the food comes on take-out boxes and paper plates to save on overhead cost. All menu items are in cash prices and while they accept credit card, there's a +3.75% surcharge so it's cheaper to pay cash. We ordered a marinated chicken leg with rice and a fried pork chop with rice. The thing I love about this place is the huge portions despite the reasonable prices. For $15.50, I can get a whole, super tender chicken leg, a ton of rice, veggies, meat sauce, and a tea egg. The chicken leg is juicy and delicious. The fried pork chop is a bit more expensive, comes with a giant fried pork chop that is very crispy and savory. Everything else is the same. This cafe isn't fancy by any means but you'll get a delicious meal for the value you pay.

Best taiwanese restaurant in Dallas I've been to so far. The bao was AMAZING. A very simple, non-fussy down to earth restaurant. This place is not very adjusted for americans but its totally worth it. Go early because several items will sell out by the end of the day.

Taiwanese Style Chicken Roll and braised pork belly with rice

My family and I always order this place to-go, and it is definitely one of my favorites!! It used to be cash only but they have started taking Zelle payments now. One of my favorites is the large gua bao (not pictured) which has pork belly, mustard greens, peanuts, and cilantro. It is a perfect balance of sweet and salty and is delicious!! We also usually get the chicken roll and pork belly over rice. The taiwanese style chicken roll is a super nostalgic flavor for me, and it is absolutely everything I am looking for. They even cut the box when you take it home, so it stays nice and crispy. The pork belly over rice is AMAZING as well. It is definitely on the heavier/fatty side, so we like to share this dish but the taste is SO GOOD. The sides of cabbage and pork are so tasty as well! These are both go-to dishes we always get!! Overall, the cost of the food is on the pricier side; however, I think it is well worth it and always nice to support a local small business!! 10/10 would recommend - one of my favorite Taiwanese places!

On recommendation of a friend, I came with my parents who are first generation Taiwanese Americans. It was so good that my dad mentioned that they could come here rather than fly to visit Taiwan. In order of what we enjoyed, Pork belly Gua bao, spicy Beef and tendon noodle soup, and to a lesser extent oyster pancake.

Things to know before walking in: 1. Cash only, there is an ATM at the 7/11 a minute walk away 2. Service is slow as staff has been cut during the pandemic 3. Everything is served with takeout containers, does make bagging things up quick and easy if you don't finish your food We ordered the tomato beef noodle soup, oyster pancake, and fried chicken leg bento. The tomato beef noodle soup wasn't bad but we didn't expect the soup to be so tomato-y! We've had chunks of tomato in our beef noodle soup but not soup like this. I did enjoy the noodles as they seemed handmade and thick! The meat was flavorful. The oyster omelette was not gooey enough for my husband's taste (iykyk). The star of lunch was the fried chicken leg bento! The chicken was perfectly spiced and crispy yet so soft and moist. The cabbage side was delicious and the braised pork/egg/tofu side was very authentic and liked that there was extra sauce to put on the side.

I met a Taiwanese guy during pickup ultimate frisbee and I asked him where are some good eats, specifically Taiwanese. He recommended Taipei Station Cafe and so we went for lunch together. I had to pick out a few dishes to sample, so I ordered the following: Gua Bao Oyster Pancake, Beef noodle soup, Oyster & Intestines Noodle Soup, and Pork Belly over Rice. Overall, all the dishes were decent. However, the beef shank could have been more tender for their beef noodle soup. It's hard to find a Taiwanese restaurant that serves Orh Wa Mee Sua (Oyster & Intestines Noodle Soup), and I was glad Taipei Station Cafe had it on their menu. They reminded me of being in Taiwan, then wished I was in Taiwan to eat at the night markets! They serve their dishes in "to-go" bowls and plates, which I thought was interesting. The downside is their pricing, which I think is a bit on the high end. Definitely a whole in the wall type restaurant, which I love. When I'm in the Dallas area again, I'll keep Taipei Station Cafe in mind.

Beef noodle soup- half meat half tendons

My wife and I came here a few times already since we relocated to Dallas from San Francisco Bay Area. Their soup noodles and bento boxes are amazing! We actually felt their taste are better than the ones we had in the Bay Area

This place only accepts cash so make sure to have some on you because the prices here are a bit high. For beef noodle soup, this place is probably the most expensive but by only couple dollars. However to people who really like rich broth, this place is perfect! The broth is super rich and has tomatoes in it making the broth thick and amazing. If you like spicy, this definitely has a lil kick and if gone in the wrong pipeline can make you cough a bit. But it's so goodd. I would come here more often if it was closer and not so pricy but I definitely would reccomend this place for some good beef noodle soup. I usually get the spicy beef and tendon one and devour it all. The noodles are chewy and good and the beef is still very soft and good. Perfect for the cold weather and if you need some Asian comfort food.

I stopped by to pick up some stinky tofu and the popcorn chicken. and it took roughly 10-15 mins for them to make my food. i didn't eat there, and took it to go. You order everything on a ipad kiosk, and one or two people who work in the back will begin to prep your food. out of the two items, the popcorn chicken was definitely the winner. Don't get me wrong, i love good stinky tofu, but it was just alright at this place. The popcorn chicken on the other hand was really good, at least when you get it with medium spice level.

I understand prices for food in general have been going up, but this place is bordering being overpriced. You now order through a Chowbus kiosk, which funnily includes a very strong emphasis on how spicy their seasoning is. They were not kidding with that one, their spicy is REALLY spicy!! I wish they had a better system of notifying you that your order is done though. We were waiting for an almost embarrassingly long time before going up to check if our order was forgotten, just for it to be sitting on the counter unattended. We were some of the only people in the entire food court and sat nearby the restaurant, so we definitely would've heard them if they called our order number out. Overall a decent place for a quick meal.
