I've been so many times since 2015 I can't believe I haven't left a review. It's one of my husband and I's favorite go to spots for sure. It's not a super fancy spot since it has been here for a while but service is consistently good. Came here on a Tuesday night with a group of 12 friends. It was my first time, so I didn't know what to expect. Restaurant wasn't packed but had a few other small tables beside us. Staff was very friendly but didn't seem smooth. Orders were swapped based on how our server was telling us. They fixed everything promptly and kindly, though. I can't entirely fault them because our group was so huge, but I just thought it'd be more organized. The food I had was very mid. I got the beef noodle soup, medium spicy and we also tried the garlic cucumbers and chicken nuggets. The medium spicy wasn't spicy at all which was a bit disappointing for me. Beef noodle soup: flavorful broth and very tender beef. Noodles were good too! 2. A choy: fresh and not overcooked 3. Cold chicken noodles: Refreshing on a hot summer day and lovely sesame sauce. Super authentic and reminds me of summer in Taiwan 4. Garlic cucumber: Crunchy, garlicky refreshing as well! 5. Dan dan noodles: Expected more spice. It was average for me but I appreciate them putting the pork on the side for us like we asked! 6. Stewed Pork Rice: Just ok - stewed pork was a bit dry and should be fattier. I just want to start out by saying I love the staff. I unfortunately don't remember the name of the young lady that served us, but she was so funny, sarcastic, and had good recommendations for what we were feeling. I didn't feel the typical pressure and awkwardness that I usually feel with a server. First I want to say is that the food here is SPICY! Legit spicy not the fake spicy where the food ends up just tasting extremely salty. They have noodle soup and can make it from 1 (practically no spice) to 7 (I did NOT try this and probably never will). I had ordered one of the noodle soups a three/four and my lips were on fire, my mouth was on fire, and the food still tasted extremely flavorful I loved it. We also ordered Fried Shrimp Roll, Preserved Egg with Tofu, Spicy Chicken Nugget, and scallion pancake. I will say that the scallion pancake was extremely disappointing and something I probably will never order again. I was under the impression it would be "filled" with majority scallions and there were barely any in there. The Preserved Egg with Tofu DELICIOUS, I wish I could have more of the egg even rn. They specialize in beef noodle, but I love their rice entrees and the snack dishes. The chicken nugget rice combo is basically peppercorn chicken serviced with rice, drizzled in braised pork sauce. The sides include a braised egg, dried tofu, and Taiwanese cabbage. It's a classic combo! You can pay extra ($2?) to add fish ball soup and green veggies. This is definitely enough food for 2 meals if you have small appetite. Recently I ordered through UberEats from them. I was worried the peppercorn chicken and pork cutlet wouldn't taste as good after delivered. It was still as delicious as I remembered. The perfect combo with your entree? Shrimp rolls also delicious and fresh. The scallion pancakes were ok. But, no scallions and not really the layers you would expect from this dish. The noodles, my husband and I handle spice very well. We were both surprised at the level of heat, especially the oil in the broth hits the back of your throat. We were both sweating. My ONLY complaint is that there is little to no flavor in the broth with the heat. Spicy is all you taste which isn't what we're looking for, as much as we LOVE SPICY. You also want some flavor and didn't find these dishes had it. The beef, however super tender and delicious while somewhat fatty. I have been humbled. All week long I've been begging my friends to come with me so I can complete the Bull Daddy Hell Challenge. No one wanted to go out today, but I really wanted something spicy, and I wanted to finally be bested by a restaurant's spice levels. I decided I'd prepare for the challenge by getting the closest I could to it and trying at home (so as not to embarrass myself in public if it really IS spicy enough for me). First, I sniffed the broth. Meh, doesn't seem too bad, I think I'll be good. So I get a little bowl... first taste is a little different than I expected. If you've ever had Dan Dan noodles or tried chongqing noodle soup, you may have experienced the "numbing" effect that Szechuan peppercorn brings to a dish. That's what hit me first. Unlike those dishes, I was numbed, but I could still feel the heat. Not unbearable... and not too hot that it loses flavor... but challengingly hot. Finally. This is what I've been looking for. Absolutely delicious. I don't think I'd have any fun with the soup lower than level 3, but keep in mind I like to bite into raw reapers/ghost peppers as a form of self-torture. It's not about your tolerance, it's about how much you hate yourself. So, I finished my normal sized bowl in less than 30 minutes, maybe with some practice I'll finally reap the challenge rewards. P.S. also had the garlic cucumbers. YUM. recommend throwing gochujaru on them if you want to add more flavor levels. Noodles were a tad over cooked and mushy. Dan Dan sauce as a whole can be one note. This was peanut flavor with a slight heat. Only some green onions on top if you order the straight up Dan Dan noodle dish. The minced pork was needed, added some dimension. The spicy wontons were fantastic - soft steamed and in a great sauce. Love that Plano has so many Taiwanese restaurants. Taiwanese restaurants are less common, and Taiwanese fried chicken is the best Asian fried chicken. I had the non-spicy beef noodle soup. The noodles were plentiful, but the amount of beef I was given was scanty. Just like how beef noodle soups usually are. What little beef we had was really good. Super tender with the right amount of lean meat and fat. Unfortunately our beef noodle soups didn't have any vegetables. No vegetables at all. My family and I had to end up ordering a side of vegetables. When factoring in the scanty amount of meat, the beef noodle soup was on the expensive side. Parking is plentiful. Full house Soup (mild) - the soup base was not that spicy so if you can handle a little bit of spicy, get medium. The beef was tender and the tendons were okay. Got the flat noodles and they were soft but still had a chew to it. Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (hot) - hot had a good kick to it, the numbing pepper kind of hot. I can't handle the fire instant ramen but this was doable. There were a few pieces of beef and a handful of flat noodles. I thought the flat noodles were well made. Basically your traditional beef noodle soup with a spicy twist. You can customize your level of spice and our server recommended I stick to level 1 because "it's really spicy." I felt a little kick...but I definitely could've used more of a kick. Keep in mind that ya girl eats REALLY spicy food and have done so for so long that I've probably deadened all my spice receptors.
