I did not have anything tailored by Taryn, but I did call for an estimate. This review is not a reflection of the quality of tailoring, but the quality of service. Taryn was very short, unprofessional, and unhelpful over the phone. I have never had anything professionally tailored before, so this was a new experience for me and I have no frame of reference. While describing the alterations I was looking for, she was distracted, cursed under her breath, and said something about a dog(?). She asked when I would need it by, and--okay, I recognize that I was asking too much by needing it in less than a week, but it's something relatively simple that I was considering doing myself (which I will clearly be doing now) and she didn't even let me get out an apology before hanging up. I know it's an additional ask, but I would've really appreciated a rough estimate for the service regardless, and especially an explanation of how much time services like this tend to take, so I could know for the future. I have another garment I was hoping to have tailored for a later event, but given this experience, I will certainly be looking elsewhere for that service. read more

The actual cost was quite a bit more than the quote. I received the quote at her shop after she pinned me up and knew mostly what she would be doing. The tailoring was well done. And picking it up was easy. She has cats and I'm allergic, so that part made me apprehensive and concerned. However she told me that she took great care in keeping my dress away from the cats. read more

I absolutely love Taryn as a tailor and would not hesitate to use her again in the future! She tailored a dress of mine when I was a teenage and so I thought of her again when it was time to tailor my wedding dress. She did fabulous work and I love how efficient she is too! Today I called in a panic as my son suit pants seam came apart and we were leaving for an out of town wedding. She said bring them over and I'll take a look. I brought my dress into this place in hopes things will be done professionally and appropriately. The seamstress informed me if I had cat allergies she would treat my dress to minimize any risk of allergic reaction since she has a cat in her work area. But when I saw her again she had already forgotten we spoke about that. We verbally agreed she would complete the bust/side areas before my next appointment. So come next appointment I went in -- she took out the wrong dress that wasn't mine, and called me by the wrong name. Finally found my dress and I asked her about protecting it against cat dander and she said she couldn't guarantee it would be cat free. Then she said if I was concerned I could treat myself with meds during my wedding to avoid allergies. She also offered I could go elsewhere, which I decided to do. However when I got my dress -what we agreed upon she NEVER did even complete. She had taken off some lace parts on the side and proceeded to charge me for that but did not keep her word about completing what we had previously agreed upon. We did not sign a contract or had a receipt but I figured since she was a small local family business, she would try to be more professional and customer friendly to keep her business running. I took my dress elsewhere and never ever going back to her. I do not recommend this tailoring business to anyone. Taryn didn't keep her word. Pass and move onto other places for ur wedding dress tailoring needs. read more

Got great advice from Taryn about the fit of my wedding dress. I was worried about the fit of the waist and thought it needed alterations- turned out it just needed proper tying of the corset back. My Granddaughter took her wedding dress there for altering. The dress needed shortening, to have the illusion straps taken up and some minor adjustments on the hips. When my granddaughter went for a fitting the lining was too short and Taryn had not saved the fabric! The sewing on the straps was also poorly done. We picked up the dress and took it somewhere else. We were also charged quite a bit!! She was recommended by a friend,but our experience was not pleasant. I'm not sure I would want her altering my wedding dress. read more

Taryn replaced a zipper in a dress for my daughter. The repair was done quickly and looked beautiful.

I went to Taryn to have a bridesmaid dress altered. I needed the waist taken in, but Taryn also suggested I shorten the straps. I figured she was the expert, so I agreed to have that done too. When I went back for the final fitting the arm holes were so small my arm barely fit through, and since the straps were shortened the dress fit oddly around my bust. It turned a dress that was supposed to sit at the natural waist into an empire waist dress and it looked like maternity wear. Fortunately she altered the arm holes so they were no longer digging into my armpit on the day of the wedding, but the overall look was ruined. I talked to another bridesmaid at the reception and she said she had her dress altered through David's Bridal (where we bought the dresses) and she had the same thing done - waist brought in and straps shortened for the exact same price I paid at Taryn's!! Why did I even bother?! Not to mention my final bill was higher than the quote Taryn gave me initially which is not cool when you're already paying a lot to be in someone's wedding party. I would not recommend for bridesmaid dress alterations. Just get the alterations through the place you bought the dress from! read more
