And picking it up was easy. She has cats and I'm allergic, so that part made me apprehensive and concerned. Today I called in a panic as my son suit pants seam came apart and we were leaving for an out of town wedding. She said bring them over and I'll take a look. I brought my dress into this place in hopes things will be done professionally and appropriately. The seamstress informed me if I had cat allergies she would treat my dress to minimize any risk of allergic reaction since she has a cat in her work area. But when I saw her again she had already forgotten we spoke about that. We verbally agreed she would complete the bust/side areas before my next appointment. So come next appointment I went in -- she took out the wrong dress that wasn't mine, and called me by the wrong name. Finally found my dress and I asked her about protecting it against cat dander and she said she couldn't guarantee it would be cat free. Then she said if I was concerned I could treat myself with meds during my wedding to avoid allergies. She also offered I could go elsewhere, which I decided to do. However when I got my dress -what we agreed upon she NEVER did even complete. She had taken off some lace parts on the side and proceeded to charge me for that but did not keep her word about completing what we had previously agreed upon. We did not sign a contract or had a receipt but I figured since she was a small local family business, she would try to be more professional and customer friendly to keep her business running. I took my dress elsewhere and never ever going back to her. I do not recommend this tailoring business to anyone. Taryn didn't keep her word. My Granddaughter took her wedding dress there for altering. The dress needed shortening, to have the illusion straps taken up and some minor adjustments on the hips. When my granddaughter went for a fitting the lining was too short and Taryn had not saved the fabric! The sewing on the straps was also poorly done. We picked up the dress and took it somewhere else. We were also charged quite a bit!! She was recommended by a friend,but our experience was not pleasant. I'm not sure I would want her altering my wedding dress. read more

I went to Taryn to have a bridesmaid dress altered. I needed the waist taken in, but Taryn also suggested I shorten the straps. I figured she was the expert, so I agreed to have that done too. When I went back for the final fitting the arm holes were so small my arm barely fit through, and since the straps were shortened the dress fit oddly around my bust. It turned a dress that was supposed to sit at the natural waist into an empire waist dress and it looked like maternity wear. Fortunately she altered the arm holes so they were no longer digging into my armpit on the day of the wedding, but the overall look was ruined. I talked to another bridesmaid at the reception and she said she had her dress altered through David's Bridal (where we bought the dresses) and she had the same thing done - waist brought in and straps shortened for the exact same price I paid at Taryn's!! Why did I even bother?! Not to mention my final bill was higher than the quote Taryn gave me initially which is not cool when you're already paying a lot to be in someone's wedding party. I would not recommend for bridesmaid dress alterations. Just get the alterations through the place you bought the dress from! read more
