Long story short- bc of my procrastination I requested to have a bridesmaid dress altered two weeks before a wedding. Mary was sooo sweet, thorough and quick. Again do to my fault, I needed the bust of the dress taken in about 1" ( I told her it felt fine when I picked it up). I called Mary in a panic at 11 am the day before the wedding and she got it done before her day ended at 5 and wouldn't let me pay her for it!! . I cannot express how grateful I am for Mary. Mary is AMAZING... I have a tough time finding jeans to fit properly with a 24" waist and a 40" hip... I read an article about jean/pant alterations and immediately searched my area for a tailor. I almost missed the shop because it's a business located in a house... Upon meeting Mary I was beyond impressed. She is amazing... I tried my jeans on, she marked them, and I was out the door. The price was much lower then the mall tailor so life was good. I picked my shorts up about a week later and her work was perfection. Wanted to share a great local alteration service. Still relatively new to the Bloomington/ Richfield area and was in need alterations service for my clothes. Did my research for what was available around the around and found this small shop near Southdale.  Mary (owner of the shop) was very welcoming and friendly and was able to quickly help me with a couple items. The pricing is fair regardless of your clothing item. She also offered flexible turnaround time with no additional charges for faster turnaround. In addition, she was able to provide samples of her work to help set my expectation of the alteration results.  This place is definitely not a secret as I had to wait briefly behind a couple customers when picking up my clothes.  Support local. I tried this tailor out due to the high reviews on Yelp. I had one shirt done. The price was pretty steep at $20 for just one shirt. You can find a better deal elsewhere. I dropped my shirt off and was told it would be done in a week. However I never received a call when it was done so apparently you just assume it is done and then pick it up. The quality of work was very good I do admit. Just not a good enough price and customer service to justify going there again. read more

I read online reviews of Stitch In Time when I was looking for a place to have some pants shortened. I went with two pairs of pants and she was quick and reasonably priced. A few people were picking things up when I first went in and you could tell they had been customers for a long time. I picked up the pants today and the hem is beautiful - even on a knit which can be tricky. I always have to have pants shortened so I'll be a customer for a long time. read more
