This shop is a hole in the wall that is a true gem, like many of the fellow reviewers have noted. You probably wouldn't ever notice this location unless looking for it specifically. I came here in the height of prom season to get a bridesmaids dress altered, and it was done very quickly and at a great price. The quality is top notch and the service team is friendly. I was looking for someone nearby to do a few alterations. When I searched on Yelp I found Tara's shop and noticed the great reviews. I dropped 3 items off later that week. I couldn't believe how busy she was and the number of people that came in and out while I was there. Her shop is neat, clean and she seems to do meticulous work. She's also very reasonable. My items were ready in about 2 weeks. The patch she fixed on a pair of jeans that were ripped wasn't even noticeable. The partial hem she fixed on a skirt was just as I had requested. The shirt that needed repair she did an excellent job on. All of my alterations were about $25. When I need another alteration I'll be back to Tara's. She is so conscientious and does a fabulous job. read more

I had an amazing experience with Tara's sewing. I had brought two bridesmaid dresses (one satin and one chiffon) and they were able to do everything I asked in a timely manner. My satin dress was a little small and they were able to open up the seams and make it just a little bigger without it even being noticeable, it now fits perfect! For the other dress they were able to add pads, adjust the straps, hem off the bottom and take it in on the waist! I am very pleased with how both of my dresses turned out! Originally went to Tara's based on all the positive reviews from customers needing dress alterations, but based on the work she did repairing a few blazers and taking in some suit jackets, I wouldn't hesitate to bring any men's garments to her. First time Yelper over here. I purchased a pea coat from Macy's which caught a nail and ripped from armpit gusset to bottom a week after purchase. Devastating. Macy's told me it "wasn't covered by warranty, and was damaged beyond repair." "No, I don't want to buy a new one, I need that money for avocado toast and bean bag chairs," I retort. I needed a quality fix with a fast turnaround time so turned to Yelp in my time of crisis like a good millennial should. Who do I find? Tara, my knight in shining fabric. Tara fixed it in a day and it looks like nothing ever happened. Thanks Tara, you have earned my business and stamp of approval. Tara's is AWESOME! I bought a couple of suits in Minneapolis a and both needed to be hemmed. The store I got them at wasn't convenient so I looked on Yelp for somewhere close to home that did good work and saw Tara's. I called and asked how long it would take to get both pairs done and was told normally a week but if you need it sooner just ask. I brought them in on Thursday and they were done on Monday for under $20 and no rush charge. They look great! I will definitely be bringing all my tailoring needs to Tara's in the future. Several of the strip mall storefronts are unoccupied, so without the picture I would have driven right by assuming the entire building is closed. read more

What haven't I had done here?!? Dress pants altered, sport coat taken in, jeans patched...I even referred a very pregnant friend to have a bridesmaid dress altered. All flawless! Had ordered some traditional chinese dresses online that are made in China. So I knew right off the bat I would need alterations since I had to get bigger sizes just so I could get my big hips into them! But that made every other area of the dresses too big. Went to Tara's and she did an amazing job on altering the dresses for me! I have no complaints. They do prefer cash but do accept credit cards. read more

She walked through everything that she was going to do and helped me vision what it would look like. When I came in for my fitting, the fit wasn't right at the top portion, but she was willing to find out the problem and fix it. Tara is just a great seamstress. She is such a sweet person and really works with your body to get the best fit. She is so very reasonable. I think she charges too little for the amount of work she does on a garment for me. I usually end up giving her extra because I can see the amount of time she has put in. To be clear - this is ONLY for wedding dresses. I've heard great things about Tara's for all other alterations from family, but I brought my wedding dress there and I do not think that she had a lot of experience here. Several parts of the dress looked like they had been done hastily and there were certain things she said she couldn't do anything about (which my other seamstress was able to fix). I had to bring my dress to another seamstress to correct alterations that Tara's had done and to fix other parts of the dress she said she couldn't do anything about. Again - I've heard great things about suits and other dresses being altered there, but I felt I needed to tell people about my wedding dress experience. read more

Tara is honestly the best tailor out there - definitely the best that I have worked with in either the Bay Area and in Minnesota. I flew in to Minnesota on a Saturday before leaving to a wedding on that coming Wednesday. I had tailored my suit that I was wearing to the wedding, but the tailor who did it in California was terrible. She charged a lot and did not alter the suit how I wanted. I wanted to tailor the suit again in Minnesota before leaving on Wednesday, but I new it would be a long shot that any tailor would accept me since I needed to bring the pants in a lot and shorten the jacket (not an easy job). Nevertheless, I flew in Saturday, and by the time I was ready to find a tailor, it had already hit 6:00pm... I called one place in Minneapolis that closed at 7 and told them about the job saying I needed it done by Tuesday if possible, and they said, "next Tuesday?" I said that I meant that coming Tuesday, but they refused, saying that it was not enough time for the job. I then called Tara who also closed at 7. When I told her about the job, she immediately told me to stop by before she closed. Tara fitted me as soon as I got there, and despite me being indecisive, she was patient and helpful every step of the way. Tara then told me that she would give me a call on Monday if she was able to finish by then. WOW. Tara ended up calling me Monday, and I picked up the suit then. She managed to finish the job in only a day (she is closed on Sundays) and did an absolutely perfect job. The suit looked just how I wanted it to look, and she charged me very, very reasonably (even less for the jacket and the pants than the tailor in California charged for just the jacket). Tara was incredibly kind, accommodating, patient, and helpful, and her work is outstanding. Definitely the best tailor I have ever been to. I will definitely be going back!!! read more
