The dress was vintage silk, and the owner was so helpful in finding alterations that improved the fit and made sense for keeping the integrity of the garment. The service and quality were amazing - and I can't believe how little I paid! I had two fittings with him and paid under $50 for the alterations to a three-layered silk dress. We sacrificed none of the movement or style but enhanced the fit! And his space is clean and the dressing rooms are big, which is nice. read more

Every time I come here I have a great experience! I have not gotten tailoring done just mending items, and each time they are done quickly and very well done overall. The owner is very friendly as well and I am happy to have them nearby when things come up! Parking can be a little difficult with all the other businesses in the area but it's not too bad. I've had two formal dresses hemmed here. The first one was last minute, and they were awesome and able to have it ready in time even though I was a new customer. The second dress I made sure to bring in sooner. The second one was fully lined so cost a bit more but it came out excellent. You can't even tell it's been altered (other than it's not too long anymore). I love that he is always willing to provide his feedback on what will look good or work the best. read more

After reading some yelp reviews I brought a dress here to be hemmed for a wedding. Overall the experience was pleasant but the only downfall is that it took almost 2 weeks to hem a few inches off the bottom of a dress, and it was only one layer. The quality of the hem turned out great and the owner was very friendly and honest about how long it would take. I haven't had any other items hemmed around the area but I thought the service was a little overpriced ($30 for a simple hem). All things considered it is a reliable shop but plan ahead if you need to get something hemmed for a certain date because it can take longer than expected if the shop gets busy. read more

I had two skirts tailored there and the work was quality. The service was a little brusque, and it took longer than I expected (a week to finish two skirts, which maybe it normal? Le Monde's has excellent customer service and Reza is amazing! I live in Northeast Minneapolis and still travel to St. Louis Park to bring him my alterations. The level of customer service he provides is wonderful - he takes the time to talk through options for repairs / alterations and makes sure that you are comfortable with his suggestions. He is never pushy or salesy. He is always honest about the amount of effort and cost before doing anything, - even going so far as to call to confirm if something else is needed. If you need something in a hurry (i.e less than a week) he will always try to accommodate without a huge rush fee. I have brought some "tricky" clothes to him for alterations and I am impressed every time with the quality. The hours and being open on Sundays is also a huge plus! read more

I've been bringing my suits and pants here for a few years. I've had them take things in, let things out, hem things, lengthen things, and do some intricate custom work to some suit sleeves. My items always come back perfect. They even once did some work for me while I waited! I have yet to come to them with a request they haven't been able to handle. Went here to get a summer dress altered. He made a couple comments that made me feel uncomfortably overweight...whatever. My biggest issue was he did a horrible job with altering my dress. He worked on it twice and then I just gave up. The dress is now unwearable...thankfully it wasn't hella expensive, still bummed out tho. read more

I took my daughter here to get alterations on a prom dress we found on clearance but thought would fit with some alterations. They were so helpful and it ended up the dress was too tight for them to do anything with. I really appreciated how tactful and caring they were in talking with us...its hard to tell a teenager her prom dress is too tight in a way that salvages their self-esteem but they managed to do it! I was impressed with how kind and honest they were. They could have easily taken us for over $100 in alterations that wouldn't result in a good fit anyway, but they didn't, they recommended we get another dress. Great customer service and detailed work! I would say that the owner does more than just alter your clothes as mentioned by another customer, he gives you great advice on what should be done. Sometimes you have a certain vision of what you would like to get done but bc of the type of fabric and how the piece was meant to be, it may not look that great if he just does what you want...and he will tell you that, which turned out to be very true! I had over 7 pieces of clothing altered at the same time and they all turned out wonderful! I live about 40 minutes away but drive here just to get my clothes altered since I can't find a decent tailor around where I live. read more
