If I could give her a ZERO rating I would. I was told my pants would be ready for pick up 6 days after dropping them off, nope, she couldn't even find them right away. Then she said come back Friday, again nope. I explained I really wanted them this week because I was going out of town, she said OK, come tomorrow, Saturday. I called twice to make sure they were ready, don't know she said "I call you right back" TWICE, no call. Now it's Monday, 2 weeks alter to hem a pair of pants!!!!I went to pick them up, done or not, CLOSED. Sign said be back at 10:00, I waited until 10:30! Still no pants and have to change travel plans. Do not go here. Like many people have said, she is nice, but she has no clue how to run a business. She doesn't keep track of appointments and will tailor your item once you're there to pick it up. It took me 3 tries to pick up my dress. I had to call and remind her I was coming each time and she clearly had no idea I had an appointment that day. Do yourself a favor and do not go here. My daughter and I dropped off several pieces of clothing to be hemmed MONTHS AGO! I was supposed to pick them up twice, once she called and had to go to the "dr", the next time we went the closed sign was up and she wasn't there. There's been zero communication! She won't answer the phone, won't call me, won't answer the door..I literally cannot get our clothes back! Hundreds and hundreds of dollars of clothing! I don't even know what to do except show up there with the authorities since she has basically stolen them at this point. Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. I have been to Kim's a few times to have clothing altered and she has always done an excellent job. She is up front with you and tells it like it is. Today I went there to have the sleeves of one of my golf wind shirts cut down to 3/4 sleeves. Instead of just excepting the item she looked it over very carefully and decided that what I wanted would not be good based upon the nylon material and its liner. She showed me what would happen if she did it and talked me into not having it done, so it was money out of her pocket. I thought I would give her the benefit despite the bad reviews. Don't give her the benefit of doubt. Some basic stitch jobs took a few months. Multiple times "Dentist appt" was the excuse. When I got some work clothes back finally the stitch job for names was severely crooked (45 degrees off). My work jacket I took there in July. It's almost January, still no jacket. Kim is so very hard to understand, but so very cute and good at what she does. I came up looking for her to take in a skort. It was a hard job because there were not any seams on it, just darts and it needed to be taken in a lot. She said to give her a week and I was a little nervous because I was moving to NYC in a few days and I wanted to wear it for the first day of my job. She assured me it would be ready, complimented me a thousand times on what I was wearing and sent me off with a biscotti. When I went it to pick it up she had it all ready and made me try it on and it was perfect!!!!!!! It was $18, but I expected it to be a little pricey because I know what a tough job it was going to be because the whole thing had to be taken apart. This was the worst customer service I have ever dealt with, I'm a 20 year old man who went to get a suit tailored for a wedding, and instead of simply telling me she was not interested in the extensive alterations required for the suit, Kim told me it was "too formal for a little boy". This was not the only insult she chose to cut me down with. she turned to my mother, asked why I was so skinny and why I didn't get enough to eat at home. I live on my own and my mother was simply kind enough to give me the ride, but thats hardly the point. Kim even went on to say I shouldn't waste my mother's money, even though I had full intentions of paying with my own money. I would give less than one star if I could. Dress wasn't ready on day of pick up and had to wait until after 2 to pick up the next day (so, likely being thrown together that morning). Significantly overcharged me for tailoring that didn't even get done! The side of my dress with the zipper wasn't taken in at all, the hem was sewn crooked, puckered and with a thread lighter than the dress, so the entire hem could be seen and caused the liner of the dress to show through the side slit. The uneven alterations on the top half made the dress hang funny and I'm not sure it can be fixed. So.....event tonight, no dress and basically got robbed of $60+ dollars in alterations that I can do nothing about. She had my item for over 2 weeks and guaranteed the time frame to complete was fine. If she has skills, she's not using them. read more

Tailoring by Kim doesn't even deserve one, single star! She is extremely dishonest. She ruined a $330 dollar pair of True Religion jeans, and refused to return them OR pay for them OR replace them. Where are they now?....ebay? She was asked to do a Euro/reattachment hem, and she decided she would "fashion" her own instead. STAY AWAY!!! ANd, she NEVER, EVER finishes in time. Highly undependable. Went in last winter with 2 pair of pants(one to replace zipper, one to shorten legs a few inches) - told 2 weeks...Returned in 2 weeks, not ready - come back in a week...Returned as requested , still not ready. She called a few days later and they were ready (third trip) Work was OK and left another pair for zipper replacement. She agreed to call me when ready, due to previous experience, thought one trip ought to do it, naive me - finally went in when I happened to be passing right by (she never called, otherwise) and she couldn't even find the pants. I'm being generous with a 2 star review because Kim was very nice and always sent you on your way with a treat. With that being said, I dropped off 3 garments. 2 to have alterations. One to have a closure sewn in. After waiting the 3 weeks she said it would take, I went to pick up my items. Kim had not completed and requested I give her an additional week. On the day I was to return, she called me to ask for additional time to complete. I agreed to all her delays. Finally after more than a month, I was able to collect my items. Not only did she not complete the most easiest of tasks for the hook and eye closure on the one garment, but the other 2 garments fit the exact same way they did when I brought them in. On a positive note, she didn't charge me for the work. If you have any idea to use Kim to alter your clothing I would strongly recommend you have a detailed conversation with her to be sure she can do what you request as to not waste your time. read more
