Came here on Sunday at noon and got lucky with parking out front. You can order on the kiosk, use the menu card, or order at the register. Came here with my 9yr old and the menu seemed overwhelming for her; good thing the staff was extremely patient, friendly, and nice. I ordered a beef rice bowl with fruit tea. I like that portion was large and that they used real fruit in a nice durable cup. My daughter purchased a wrap, bubble tea, and macaroons. Once your food is ready, the order # is announced, so you can pick it up at the counter to bring it to your table. There is a lot of seating to choose from. Although it was busy when we got here, we didn't feel crowded, because it was so spacious. The aesthetic ambiance is very inviting. My daughter says she wants to come again! We'll be back!

"The weekend at the college didn't turn out like you planned The things that pass for knowledge I can't understand" (Steely Dan) Located on College Street, in the heart of the Yale community is Taichi Bubble Tea - New Haven. We had a great lunch there today. What a wonderful combination of customer service, outstanding food choices and portion sizes, and restaurant ambiance. The ir menu is very impressive and you can order at a kiosk or fill out a paper slip with your choices. The food options are plenty with a big variety of Ramen, Poke, and Rice Box choices. The drink menu is even deeper, with choices in the Milk Tea, Iced Milk, Smoothie, Lemon, and Fruit Tea families. Seriously, there must have been over 40 drink choices. I love to give a shoutout whenever possible for great customer service, which leads me to voicing some praise for our wonderful server (Hanaa B.) who patiently and expertly walked us through the menu and took our order. We crafted our own custom Salad Poke Bowl ($12.99 before tax and tip) with lettuce, spinach, salmon, cucumber, avocado, edamame, carrot, Ponzu sauce, cilantro, mango, Masago (Fish Egg), and fried onions. The Poke Bowl was pretty big with plenty of salmon cubes. We enjoyed the Bowl on site, and that leads me to Taichi Bubble's décor. The two-level dining room is huge with plenty of comfortable booths and seats. We sat in the lower dining room alongside a table full of a dozen cheerful Yalies enjoy their lunch, and a solitary Yalie banging away on her tablet deeply engaged in academic thought. Thank you Hanaa and Taichi Bubble Tea - New Haven for a wonderful visit. PRO TIP If street parking is a problem, be advised there is a lot just around the corner on Crown Street.

Delicious! We drove over an hour to visit this place and it was totally worth it. I've never had poké bowls before but I knew the concept, and I love sushi so I knew I'd at least like the concept. And the execution here is excellent - the fish tastes great, the food was professionally and neatly prepared and presented, and the boba tea is classic. Nothing here was disappointing. The attendants were all young and polite, so the whole atmosphere felt refreshing and welcome as soon as you walk in. Plenty of digital ordering kiosks, and the attendants behind the counter are happy to help with any questions or place your order at the counter for you. I got the SALMONopoly burrito, which was wrapped in seaweed so it was basically just the fattest sushi roll ever lol. My wife got the Brown Sugar ZangZang Special, which was just a classic whole milk tea with boba. Highly recommend!

Service - Owner is very kind & attentive to customers. Service itself was super quick and easy. This spot has a order it yourself kiosk, which is so nice. Really helped me navigate what I wanted to order & had images. I also like to see the description with ingredients here. Ambiance - Relaxing atmosphere, low music playing in the background. You can come here to relax, study/work, read a book (thats what I did), or just catch up with a friend. Food - i got the poke bowl with 3 proteins: tofu - spongy & moist Chicken - nice big pieces, you really get your moneys worth. Spicy tuna - so good!! Would get this by itself again. I love the options you can choose for toppings, it was hard to choose what not to get lol but I had to try it all! My favorite was the spicy tuna, would love to try their beef bowls. Id like to challenge them to maybe try bringing in zucchini noodles for their poke bowls, I feel like that would be a nice touch! In addition, they had great options for vegan + Gluten free. I would love to see more options here such as (fried plantains for crunch toppings) or (gluten free noodles) I couldn't try their ramen because it was gluten. But its okay they had so many other things on the menu that I could choose from. Drinks - Great selection, very hard to choose one, I already plan to come back to try more. Location - In a nice busy area! Right next to the main roads, schools, & walking distance from parking. You can park on the street or garages near by. I found parking on the street easier for 2 hour limit. But i can see this getting busy on a weekend.

Loved this place! It is conveniently located on College Street, walking distance from Yale, easily accessible, and has a surprisingly big interior seating area. Plus, I am a big fan of Mecha Noodle Bar, and this place is the fast-food equivalent of that, in the best way with better prices and quicker service. I enjoyed the ramen bowl that I customized with miso broth and chicken and my friend ordered the Tonkotsu ramen bowl and we were both pleased with what we had. It's a great lunch break spot or anytime you're in the area spot.

One of the strangest boba shop experiences I've had. The shop itself is nice, with a large space and several tables. However, several of our drinks were terrible. The brown sugar boba tastes like cardboard. Another person in our party ordered the vanilla rose milk tea, which also has an extreme flavor that was not good at all. When inquiring with the workers, they were okay but not very helpful. There is also a hole in the wall and we SAW A MOUSE RUNNING AROUND. I would not recommend at all.

This is my go to for bubble tea and a quick meal! To start with bubble tea, the tapioca is ALWAYS perfect with just the right amount of squish. I always get the mango green tea and it is pretty consistent between the 10x I ordered it. I have also tried the brown sugar milk tea (sub for almond milk) and it was so good! I like how I am able to choose my ice levels and my tea base (green or black) as well as sugar levels and toppings. The food is good! I always find it really delicious and fresh but it's also typical for rice bowls and ramen. Nothing special, but it's still very good. When you walk in you can order on the tablets. I have seen customers order at the front desk. A downside is that I am never greeted when I come in or even acknowledge. The food and drinks don't take long. The longest I waited for food was 10minutes but I could tell they were busy and working hard as usual! Ambiance is great! Lots of seating and a lot of cute things to look at and also lots of plants! I am confused if they have a reward system since I always put my phone number in and I see there are points earned on my receipt. I cannot find how to redeem them or how many I have. I do come here a lot so I wish this was more clear!

Recommended: Yes, for delicious bubble tea and quality, convenient takeout food. Overall: A great find for tasty and fresh food with excellent value, perfect for takeout. Snapshot: Food: 5/5 Drink: 5/5 Vibe: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Value: 5/5 ‍‍ Family-Friendly: 4/5 Highlights: Perfect For: Delicious and convenient takeout with excellent bubble tea Don't Miss: The mango bubble tea with black tea and tapioca pearls Bonus Tip: Try the miso chicken ramen--it's flavorful and easy to reheat All The Details: Tai Chi Bubble Tea in New Haven was a fantastic find. We're always on the lookout for quality takeout spots, and this place absolutely took the cake. I'm not typically a bubble tea person, but their mango bubble tea with black tea and tapioca pearls was so delicious, I could drink it every day. We also tried the miso chicken ramen. Although we had to take it to go, the food was packaged so well that it was easy to heat up at home and tasted just as fresh. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the thick cuts of roast chicken were perfect. Unlike some ramen places that use thin, bland chicken slices, the chicken here was fresh and hearty. The ramen egg was cooked to perfection, adding the perfect touch to the dish. The café itself is clean and modern, with big, easy-to-read menus that make building your bowls simple. The staff was helpful and friendly, and I loved the bubble tea planter out front--such a nice touch. I'll definitely be back, especially for that amazing bubble tea.

So with this review, I am going to be up front and tell you here: the rating I am going to be giving this place will be based on the business itself, including its offering I had, the customer service, and the ambiance of this place. I am NOT going to consider my own mishaps I had in this review because I did not have a lucky experience. Why do I say this? Well, it may be because of where I chose to sit, but the moment I set my tea down on the table was when it spilled all over the place. Thankfully, the employees there provided me napkins so I could clean up as much of the spill as I could. The fact that they were so understanding when I had told them about the spill and then allowing me to finish what I still had instead of just getting straight up thrown out alone makes the customer service this establishment has a big plus. Now for what I had. The drink that spilled was a brown sugar milk tea with cheese milk foam, and then I chose the Make Your Own Dish option. We will describe this as follows: - Base: Taichi Burrito - White Rice - Green Base: Kale - Proteins: Crab Meat, Bacon - Mix-In's: Cream Cheese, Red Onions - Sauce Flavor: Yusu - Topping: Cilantro - Crunch: Teriyaki Seaweed All told and everything paid for, everything came out to $30.93 after tip (though now I wish I had given a bigger tip). So even though most of my tea was GTA Wasted from my own stupidity, I was still able to have enough of it that I could still review it. The cheese milk foam was the best thing about this tea, but the milk tea itself wasn't bad. It's not something I would normally choose to drink, but for milk tea, you can definitely do far worse. The bobas were a bit bland and a bit chewy, but I still finished them all. The food item I got was actually pretty awesome! It's also not something I would normally have, but I think everything here came together in a nice symphony of flavors that really accentuated its taste and brought it to a new level. The yusu sauce was a godsend in of itself and made an already good burrito even better. This alone makes this place worth coming back to. The inside of this place was peaceful and really well-decorated. It was spacious and comforting. I think if I had better luck in actually having my drink, I would have been much more at peace here. It will be a great spot for many people to come and socialize, study, read a book, listen to new music, or even get away from the many stresses of life. I want to see this place continue to succeed because there is so much here they get right. I will rate this a 4 for now, but at a different time I can come back here and order another tea for another chance at the 5.

I think this place is the cutest bubble tea place ever! I personally prefer their slushies and iced fruit teas over their milk teas. I ordered Thai Tea from here today and I felt like it was way too strong and not as creamy (you could tell from the photo). Although, it wasn't that bad. I could tell it wasn't properly mixed prior to serving. They have really delicious and refreshing iced fruit teas and slushies though!

Taichi is conveniently located in Downtown New Haven right at the center of all the action. It's the perfect spot to catch up with friends after school/ work or for a midday boba break. I really loved the decor and overall atmosphere here! The set up is very... instagram-esque and there's it's so spacious with several floors of seating! There was a pipe leaking in one of the back seating areas though which was unfortunate. Overall very cute spot! I was also really impressed with their expansive menu and the various options they have for toppings and boba. They also have some really unique flavors on the menu that I haven't seen in other places. One thing that surprised me was that their menu is so much more than just bubble tea! They also have smoothies, fresh juices and a decent selection of desserts. I decided to order the Taichi milk tea in the original flavor and it paired really nicely with their cheesecake. Honestly, the cheesecake was the star of the show in my opinion. It was so rich, creamy, and one of the better cheesecakes that I've had (and I love cheesecake). The milk tea was also really good but the boba didn't taste like much. I'm excited to go back and try one of their more interesting flavors and experiment with toppings and boba flavors (and to get more cheesecake, of course)!

Had a great experience at Taichi! The staff was very friendly and was able to help guide me to what I wanted. The atmosphere of the shop is very clean and has some nice wall signs and decorations. Plenty of seating for if you're getting together with friends! Loved my Thai tea as well! Is the perfect amount of sweetness!

    Tonkotsu Ramen Noodle Soup

TLDR Great service, very good drinks, OK food. Ambience Ambiance wise the shop is clean, well maintained and trendy. 5 star. Service Staff were prompt, communicative, and friendly. It was fairly busy when we went but you could tell the trio working were seasoned professionals. 5 star. Food Speaking of seasoning the tonkatsu ramen we had with chicken was very flavorful. The actual broth was good. The noodles. Ehh. Now this is by no means a high end ramen place -which is evident by the tiny plastic spoons they serve to eat with. But for the price it was ok and I think they accomplish what they set out to achieve in the price range. 3.8 star Drinks I had an avocado drink which was ok. I enjoyed the toned down nature of it. It was not overly sweet which I enjoy. Also tried the Rose drink which was extremely good. 5 stars for the drinks. 5 star

At the time, I found the ramen competent and the interior pristine, spacious, and modern. Returning for a second visit, I'm happy to report they have withstood the test of time, maintaining high standards for both food quality and cleanliness. To provide context: when Roishi first opened, it felt like ramen shops were everywhere. Fast-forward a few years, fewer shops remain, and unfortunately, many of those survivors just don't stand out to me. The mid-range sushi scene has proven equally unimpressive. Aside from high-end establishments like Hachiroku Handroll Bar, or the outstanding Gohan in Southington, most mid-range joints disappoint with mediocre quality and a lack of creativity. Many may start off strong in quality, like Niu Sushi in East Haven or Sayori in Orange, but eventually their standards slip over time. In the current food scene in Connecticut, finding a restaurant that excels at both ramen and sushi is a rarity. While I enjoy the Spicy Miso at Akatsuki in Hamden, their sushi remains lackluster. Conversely, from what I recall when they initially opened, the sushi at Takumi in Branford impressed me, but their ramen has disappointed. This is where Roishi shines. Perhaps my previous disappointments at other establishments have made me quick to judge, or maybe I simply caught Roishi on an exceptionally good day. Regardless, our last experience at Roishi has won me over, and it has officially become (for now) my go-to for a satisfying bowl of ramen paired with fresh, creative sushi rolls. It is clear the sushi chefs put effort into curating their menu and making their rolls look visually appealing. Our server was pleasant, professional and attentive without being overbearing. While the menu would benefit from rotating specials featuring higher grade ingredients, the restaurant's ability to maintain standards and consistency is a rarity, and is the primary reason I will continue to return as long as they continue to do so!
