First of all, social media hypes this place up way too much. There were babies and children present when I was under the impression this was an adults only setting. Food was overpriced and drinks were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. You had to valet $15. So won't be revisiting again. Perhaps I confused it for Toca Maderna. read more

I came here for happy hour with my friends and Kaylee was amazing!! So attentive and so friendly. Kaylee recommend lots of yummy drinks and had no problem with accommodations. My first time here and she made me very comfortable!! Definitely will be returning!! read more

Had such a great experience at Tago! The drinks were amazing. Peter the bartender really knows how to craft them perfectly. Nori was so sweet and attentive, making sure everything went smoothly the whole night. The music set the perfect vibe, and the ambiance was just right. Honestly, everything about the night was 10/10. Definitely a place I'd recommend and can't wait to go back! read more

Tago - Lounges Near Me - Houston, Texas

First (and last) time at Tago. We got seated right away, and then... nothing. Fifteen minutes of sitting there with zero acknowledgment, no drinks, no "we'll be right with you," nothing. Staff walked past us like we were invisible. If this is how they treat new customers, I'm not sticking around to find out what the "regular" service is like. Won't be back. read more

It takes A LOT for me to post a negative review, look at my account! It's been like 95% positive ones! I was there for a birthday party and everyone at my table waited at least 30 minutes for anyone to come get a drink order, about 1 whole hour to order food, and another 45 minutes for the drinks to actually get here. Meanwhile, they couldn't bring at least water for the table until the drinks came and guess what? The drinks were completely WRONG! To top it off, we ordered some cucumber lime and ginger mocktail, which would normally be green but all the drinks they brought 45 minutes later were orange/yellow. We were really polite and asked if he could make sure the drinks he handed us is right drinks and this guy just keep telling us "it's the Agave, it's Agave that makes the drink look this color instead of green" and insisted that a glass that was basically melted ice is the same exact thing as all the other "agave drinks". Like...what? Why would anyone just straight up lie about stuff? We weren't comfortable with just drinking what he handed us because most of us don't drink alcohol, and for myself, I get the worst stomach ulcer with even a small amount of alcohol so I didn't want to chance it. We ended up going to the bar to reorder the cucumber lime mocktail and guess what? IT CAME OUT GREEN like we all expected! We ordered desserts that never came in the 3 hours I was there, no server could ever be found, dancers were out twice for a short time, speakers were right above our head and so loud we were basically shouting at each other to hear anything. The place is pretty itself, especially in Houston but the bathroom was dirty with no functioning toilet paper dispenser. Food came out completely cold, the raw appetizer is very meh, especially considering the price. The guac was watery and just very meh... for $16, I feel like maybe the grocery store container ones would taste better. I know for a fact any Mexican restaurants in Houston make guac better than this $16 one lol. Part of me feel like maybe it's because of the crowd on a Saturday night making the service so bad, food coming out cold, wrong things getting delivered, and desserts to never come and I should give it another try on a week day with just family. But why would I ever spend money at an establishment that can't even admit they gave you the wrong drink? read more

One of my favorite spots in Houston! The energy here is amazing! You really feel like you are in another world here. This Tulum inspired venue is the perfect place to celebrate any occasion , especially when the performers come out for bottle service. They definitely make you feel special and create an unforgettable experience. With the performances and live DJ this is Truly a magical place. The staff is very hospitable and kind, I feel very warm and welcomed here. The food and drinks are amazing and the atmosphere is one of a kind. The venue is beautiful and perfect place for celebrating birthdays and special occasions. There are several great places to take photos throughout the restaurant. They really put a lot of effort into the aesthetic , production and Entertainment making this place stand out amongst other nightlife venues. They hire the best talent and you can tell they really take care of their artists. Jose, Omar and Alex are great bartenders and always make my mezcal margarita perfect! They nail it every time. Will does a wonderful job of managing Tago, hosting and making sure everyone feels and is taken care of. Love this place! read more

We came here for one of our girlfriend's birthday, the table was reserved weeks before with indoor selection of seating. We arrived before the time of reservation and still weren't seated. They stated "we are looking for an open table" after about 30minutes. They then said they only had outdoor patio availability. When we got out to the patio, all the couches were stained with who knows what. No one was attentive besides our last server. She was the sweetest ever. No complaints with her. We waited around an hour and a half for our food to come out, no one ever came to check on us (before our last server stepped in). They forgot a few plates until we spoke up about missing food. Over all the service from everyone was ass (besides our last server). Attitude was ugly and uncalled for. What should have been a great birthday celebration turned into a disaster. Such a disappointment. The food was great though! Such a cute place but they need to change management and how they serve people. IF I COULD PUT 0 STARS I WOULD! Never coming back again. read more

Wow, what a disappointment and I haven't even made it to the restaurant. I made a reservation and cancelled (prior to their 24 hour policy) and was still charged a $50 fee. I understand things happen, but I have called this restaurant for over a week and not a single person can help me. The manager, Diego, is never available nor does he return my calls. I am not the only person this has happened to and I doubt they got their refund either. Please be mindful making a reservation here! read more

The service was awful. My daughter food took all day, she kept bringing out everyone order separately. We couldn't see a food menus because they didn't have one and she just read stuff off top of her head. The food was different from what she described. Over priced ..we got 2 drinks and 3 meals... $150... it was all of 4 tables in there with this awful service. Everything we asked for the waitress/hostess kept forgetting. Everyone was sitting around on phones. Will never come here again read more

Had such a great time at Tago!! The vibe was lively and welcoming and the DJ played such good music all night. This place is horrible! Staff seemed overwhelmed, food was mediocre at BEST! Double check your bill! They tried to add a bunch of fees for nothing. I'm guessing the reason the staff doesn't care is because of the automatic gratuity add, so no accountability and they don't care.. this place will close within the year. Too many good restaurants in Houston to deal with this one. read more

I think they got the decorations at the Dollar Store! So cheap looking Menu has 4 entree options and 5 apps that's it! Staff not trained but nice. Felt fake so we walked out and went to Eat at Xochi delicious!! This place my guess will be closed in 6 mo read more

I hate to be that person but if I could leave 0 stars I would. My husband made a reservation here with the anticipation of a nice night out, enjoying food, drinks, and music in a nice vibe. While the ambiance was nice the inside was not open and we had to sit outside, which I can understand if they were short staffed but the staff was sitting at the bar when we arrived. This was our first time there and we were not greeted until we tried walking inside to find a place to sit. The women who greeted us seemed a bit annoyed to help us and informed us that they opening at 7... it was 6:56 and the website said they open at 5. We were then seated at a very unconventional table were we would have to hunch over to get our food. We ended up leaving before being served due to the subpar service. read more

$22 duck confit tostadas were tasty, but were seriously all the way cold and served 15 min after the other member of my party received their entree. Also, after both adults fully consumed their entree, only then was the kids fries brought to the table for the child which of course was declined because the meal was over. But...we were still charged for it!! Decor is beautiful and IG worthy no doubt. Service is friendly, but at no point were we asked how our meal was after it was served. 20% gratuity is automatic even with only 3 at a table. Needless to say, I won't be back and I can't recommend you spend your coins there either. read more

They refuse to let people in based on what shoes they're wearing. News flash this is Houston not Miami. The food doesn't even look good enough to be that picky. read more

The ambiance of Tago was great. It actually reminded me of a resort I stayed at in Tulum which I believe was the whole point. The music was great. We did not have a reservation so we sat by the bar. For starters we ordered the fried lobster tacos which was honestly too salty. For my drink I initially ordered a drink with passion fruit and an edible flower from their signature cocktail menu. Unfortunately the drink was HORRIBLE and I had to order a second drink. Also something to note is that our bartender was more concerned about being on her phone than actually checking in on us. It took a minute to get her attention to order another drink. She saw I didn't drink it then proceeded to tell me that they were out of one of the syrups needed to make the drink, unapologetically. I ended up ordering a different drink because I couldn't drink the first one. The second drink I had was the Mayan muse which was much better than the first drink but not fantastic. For dinner I had the Tago pasta which was nothing to write home about. Honestly although the vibe was nice, the food and the service were terrible. I would not return here. read more

I'm obsessed with Tago, it's my new favorite spot. I've come here countless times for date nights, girls nights, even my birthday celebration - every time, I've had the best experience. The ambiance and atmosphere here is so chic but also fun, and the service has been consistently amazing. The owner and staffs here are super sweet, food comes out quick, and it's always delicious. My go-to is the mango suave cocktail, guacamole, and the duck mole tostada, SO good. I never get tired of this place. 10/10 recommend! read more

Def a vibe. Good place for drinks and music! Check them out if you need day drinking or night drinking plans.

Bad service, they dropped off the silverware unwrap in the middle of the table. Food came all in separate times. Tried talking to the manager, couldn't care less. Would not come back would not recommend would never come back. read more

If I could give this negative reviews I would, I traveled all the way from cali and was excited to see this place but was denied because I was wearing shorts lol No wonder they have 1.5 stars hahahah read more

This place looks really nice, which made the experience even more disappointing. We arrived around 9:50/10 PM and were initially told there was a table outside being cleaned. After waiting for a while, I went back to ask how much longer it would take only to be told suddenly that there was no table at all. We ended up standing around for nearly an hour before finally being seated around 10:50 Once seated, it took another 30-40 minutes for a server to even acknowledge us, despite us trying to get someone's attention. Service stayed painfully slow the entire night. The first round of drinks was so bad we had to send them back, and although most were removed from the bill, one drink still wasn't taken off initially. On top of all that, the hookah was $40, and there was an automatic 20% service charge, which did not reflect the level of service we received at all. For how nice this place looks, the service, drinks, and pricing don't come close to matching. Huge letdown. read more

um.. where do i even start? i'll do the cliche "if i could give 0 stars, i definitely would". came here for a birthday dinner with a reservation set and confirmed and the hosts didn't sit us until we were genuinely confused on what was going on. and from there said they had no tables available which was odd... i saw empty tables inside and we have a reservation. but they made "accommodations" and gave us the option to wait until after 8:30p for a different reservation to cancel (which was weird since ours was at 8??) or just to sit outside. we ultimately chose to sit outside because going back and forth with the hosts on why they were holding a table inside for an 8:30 reservation rather than honoring a reservation set at 8 was getting pointless. nobody ever decides to just sit outside especially during a summer in houston after a storm. the table they expected us to sit in was stained and just not... clean. nonetheless, we moved tables and finally got served. food was okay! no complaints there just a little pricey for the service and ambience. also, they seem to be short on menus for some reason? when menus are literally printed on card stock and for a business charging an automatic 20% gratuity on each tab... i would expect at least a laminated menu??? the manager was so graciously kind enough to remove the 20% grat because we weren't comfortable with that being pulled for tipshare, instead we tipped the server herself and only her. also needed to mention that while we were sat outside, a homeless lady walked up to us and several other tables asking for food while the host that was outside did nothing. i've worked as a host and a server before for 6 years so i'm usually pretty patient and understanding but this was overall a very uncomfortable and SO overpriced experience. read more

Too loud and overpriced. Please be sure to check your receipt too - they charged us DOUBLE tax (should be 8.25%) and add an automatic 20% tip on all bills but don't disclose ahead of time. I think they were hoping I didn't notice because the waiter handed the machine to me with the tip option open....had I been drinking or distracted, I would have selected additional tip without noticing I had already been charged! read more

It's a Knockoff Toca Madera. Service was slow. Short staffed with only two bartenders. They won't seat your table until your full party arrives. It's in a sketch area. Music was obnoxiously loud. Put some palm trees and aesthetic furniture together and swear they can charge $44 for an 8 oz steak that isn't even as big as my hand , on top of that lacked seasoning in every single appetizer/main course that we got.
