Great north African restaurant in South London. BYO makes it a cheap place to have a quality dinner.

That being said, I can speak to the deliciousness of the menu, and in that respect it delivered in abundance. The appetizer we ordered was phyllo folded into triangles, stuffed with spinach, mushrooms, and goat cheese, then fried to golden perfection. Absolutely scrumptious. It was served over top a small, simple salad, lightly dressed and abundantly peppered, which was likewise enjoyable though less remarkable. The entree was called Supreme Chicken, and was sliced chicken breast served over a bed of sauteed spinach, smothered in a creamy, peppery sauce, resplendent with velvety sliced mushrooms and crispy, sliced potatoes on the side. It was to die for. I wouldn't describe the dish as spicy, per se, but it was thoroughly peppered, so if you're sensitive to that sort of thing you may wish to consider another entree. The menu was exotic but approachable, the staff friendly and accommodating, and the prices altogether reasonable. I have no complaints, a ton of compliments, and a profound sense of sorrow that I won't be able to visit more regularly on account of living on a different continent. Absent that, I'd be a regular. This place is wonderful.

It's completely unassuming from the outside and peeking through the window doesn't give you much of a clue either. It's when you look at the menu that you start to get an inkling that this might just be a little special. Once you get inside you are struck how small the place is and the atmosphere is rather like being in someone's studio flat with a Moroccan theme. However the staff are more than friendly and the smells emanating from the kitchen are even more enticing. Best places to sit are on the sofas around the outside of the space but even if the stools are available, take them because this place can become busy very quickly. The menu is amazing and I can tell you that the cooking is superb. The Tagines are sumptuous, rich and delicious and it is my intention to try each and every one of them. The mint tea is lovely and poured from a height and the juices are delicious too. The restaurant has no available alcohol but the owner/cook has no problem with you bringing your own and doesn't charge corkage. He even points out the off-licence next door. The staff are very friendly and the place has a good mix of people but be prepared for a long meal as the meals are individually cooked by the proprietor to what I can only say is a standard well worth waiting for and should definitely be taken time over to appreciate. It's a wonderful place to relax over a meal and the proprietor is a very friendly and pleasant man who makes you feel very welcome and you don't mind taking your time. The desserts are also something to highlight and especially his own cinnamon creme brulee with orange blossom which is a dessert worth going there for alone! So if you want wonderful Moroccan food in a very pleasant atmosphere and want to take time to savour it then there are very few places I could recommend more. I for one will be returning many times

Walking into a dark but very inviting Mediterranean hot spot not really knowing what to expect I was greeted by nothing but love by the owner who is also the front of the house host, waiter and historian on the food. The dishes presented themselves. He used authentic Moroccan crockery to prepare a present some of the most flavorful food I've ever experienced in the city of London. As I always say, I'll set your expectations for what you want as you come in to any place I write about. It's a small intimate dinning experience where you should bring friends and loved ones. The decor will take you to a different place, away from the hustle and bustle of London, to a foreign land that has exotic foods prepared with love and the ultimate patron experience in mind. I had Moroccan wine for the first time and wont be he last. It was absolutely fabulous, I wasn't sure what to expect but I have to put Spain on notice. I highly recommend the MD Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot which had a very nice overtones of earth and pepper. You have to check it out if you find yourself in London and looking for a new expirence.

In desperate need of coffee and breakfast I stumbled in at 8.30am to what looked like an empty café. Little did I know lurking behind the counter was a lovely gent who talked me though his pastries. Now I'm not going to call him a liar but I'm just going to say that those muffins looked suspiciously bought in. So I settled on their version of a pasty. For those of you who have eaten one of these in front of me will know "pasty's repeat themselves on you" for the next 48 hours. Me choosing this was due to lack of selection and need for a speedy decision. It wasn't a mistake. This greasy pastry parcel filled with goats cheese, spinach and tomato did not disappoint, the coffee was hot, smooth and had caffeine in it and it cost me less that 4 quid. All in all a winner. I have to love this place, the breads really do look amazing in the window and during peak brunch/lunch time it's packed with yummy mummys. The atmosphere is like Chelsea has arrived in tooting, with deep wood flooring and polite staff. I know, I know you won't believe me but Tooting really is up and coming!
