Delicious food and drinks. Great service and atmosphere. Perfect for sharing. Don't skip on the hummus, labneh and lamb.

Very nice Middle-eastern Brunch spot with both great savory and sweet dishes. I shared the Burnt Aubergine and a Shashuka and they were both really tasty in addition to look amazing. As a dessert I shared the Challah toast which was also really good, huge, and not too sweat. Service is nice and friendly and food arrives quickly.

I reccomend booking reservations here. Once I arrived, I was seated immediately. I love the ambience. Dimly lit romantic vibes for dinner. I ordered the aubergine (consist of miso yuzu, smoked almonds, cherry tomatoes and eggplant) and it was probably one of the best dishes I had in a very long time. It was light, refreshing, different textures and pack of flavor. The acidity level was perfect. I will be thinking of the dish for a while. I also got the shrimp in a cast iron and a side of broccoli. Those two dishes were great as well. Both dishes tasted fresh and broccoli still had a nice crunch to it. Service was good, food came on time. Server was friendly.

Review from Sunday, September 25th: Decided to revisit this place late Sunday after I had apparently came here 3 years ago (I had forgotten!) Sadly, the miso aubergine, which I why I trekked here from Southeast London, was out, so I had a huge plate of 2 salads and a main: parsnips and carrots, tabouleh and the lentil and bulgur kofte. For £16 it was enormous. The parsnips, drizzled with green tahini, were quite tender but didn't taste astonishing. Would say decent. The tabouleh on the other hand was quite flavourful and I really enjoyed that. But the star of the plate was DEFINITELY the kofte!! Dense portion sizes, and just a wonderfully moreish flavour with the sumac and pomegranate arils. I'm negating a star only because service wasn't great. The servers never smiled, seemed rushed, and no one came to check in how my food was, asked if I wanted anything else, etc. I also had to flag a waiter done initially, otherwise who would have known how long I'd be there waiting. Meanwhile the restaurant wasn't that busy! Dog-friendly so a huge bonus for that. Three years ago: I ate here for brunch last Saturday and what a treat. First of all the seating/setting is very cool: modern but also chic with polished wood and chrome, but also hanging vines and an open kitchen. Plus the salads and desserts are spread out on a low table for you to gawk at. I got the avo and kale on sourdough and my god it was amazing. It went far beyond the boring avo on toast as the kale and cauli rice, almonds, goat cheese and herbs were wonderfully mashed together atop the enormous slice of toast. Wonderful flavours of spiciness, sweet and savoury. I ate it all. The chai latte I got as well was creamy and frothy with the perfect taste of cardamom and nutmeg. I also got the veggie quiche and the miso banana aubergine, pumpkin and carrots and parsnips salads for takeaway. The slice of quiche was HUGE and filling for lunch a few days later. The mix of salads was fantastic: similar great blend of flavours. I would love to return here again. Defo a new favorite!

Situated in a new development just blocks from Aldgate East, Amber is a harbinger of the gentrification of Whitechapel. Don't get me wrong, the food is absolutely delicious and has a great Mediterranean flare, but when you are paying £9 for 'Burnt Aubergine' you know what kind of place you're at. Social commentary aside, the restaurant is spacious, airy and pleasant, with generous natural light streaming across the natural wood decor in the morning and a low lit romantic setting with many candles for dinner. The food is very good! For breakfast, I've tried their 'acai bowl' which is a semi-deconstructed affair, placed in a larger bowl and carefully arranged with perfectly ripe fruit. I've also been for dinner with a friend and was absolutely dazzled by the burrata with fruit and nut pasta and their selection of Pide (turkish flatbread pizzas) - the leek blue cheese and caramelized onion one being particularly fantastic. Shoutout also to the tahini cauliflower, although the seabass I found underwhelming and the mango chili cheesecake was a bit strange. Although it's tough for me to get over the prices and the foreignness of this ultra-modern development which sticks out like a sore thumb, it really is a lovely restaurant and I would recommend it for a nice night out especially like a birthday or such.

Vegetarian review: My Experience: I entered on a Sunday morning with a reservation. The location was a bit out of the way, but it was easy to find and there was a water jug waiting for me at my table anticipating my reservation Service: 1/5 Our server came quickly though she didn't seem particularly knowledgable about the menu. When I asked for Crudite instead of pita and for some more babaganoush, she looked at me puzzled until I explained that I wanted vegetables and more of the "aubergine dip". She'd said she'd never heard these terms. When I'd indicated that I was done with my turkish coffee, by plating the mug with the finished dishes, the waiter removed the mug and placed it back on the table leaving more of a mess on the table. While I ordered the bottomless meal, the service was so slow that it really felt more as though I couldn't get enough food in my allotted time. When I asked for more pita bread and eggs, it took them a significant amount of time to bring them if they ever did. I needed to request fills up multiple times before they were brought out. It felt obscene to then be forced to give a 12.5% tip. Drinks: 1.5/5 I ordered a turkish coffee, which came with a decent turkish delight (bumping this up to 1.5 stars. Otherwise, the chai tea was flavorless (tasted more like warm oat milk than spiced tea), and the turkish coffee Food: 2/5 The food was all undersalted, as is typical for all food served in London, but not typical for Levantine food. The real star of the show was a tahini dish that tasted of sweet chocolate and was quite nutty. Everything else made me wish I'd gone somewhere else. Overall, the restaurant has a lovely decor, a clear theme, but the service and food quality severely lacked.

Really delicious and thoughtful dishes. Although simple, the pita bread was one of my favorites. It was hot out of the oven and very soft. It paired amazingly with the hummus which was super delicious, and my standards are pretty high for hummus. My friend and I shared a number of different veggie dishes, all of which were super yummy. My personal favorite was the cauliflower and asparagus with bok choy. The coconut panacotta dessert was

We got the cloud cheesecake and the mango baklava and both were great without being too sweet.

Mains: Chicken Pastilla - This was my favorite dish of the meal, as the chicken and other ingredients were enclosed within this crispy exterior - very tasty. Lamb Kofta - This was basically like lamb sausages, which were good but nothing that special, although the sauce did add some nice flavor as well. Sides (or as they call them, salads): Aubergine - Came with 2 slices of aubergine; I liked the white sauce on top which gave it a little extra creamy flavor Cauliflower- Very standard so not much to comment on here Mushrooms - Pretty nice pairing with the lentils as well Butternut Squash - Well cooked with some parmesan shavings on top My main issue here was the value, as each combo of main + 2 sides costs 29.50 GBP, and the portion sizes were rather small (refer to my photo). In fact, they even combined 2 sides into 1 small plate because the portions were so small. The interior is very nice though, as it is an elegant yet minimalistic type of design. It wasn't too busy for lunch even on a weekend. The staff are fairly friendly and attentive. The service speed is pretty quick. Overall, the pros of Ottolenghi are that the food is pretty good and the environment is nice. However, the cons are that the portion sizes are small (so value might not be great) and the lunch menu is fairly limited. Therefore, all things considered, I am giving Ottolenghi 4 stars.

Since I had just clicked a few miles on the treadmill, they hooked me. I ordered a chicken soup and chicken wrap. The chicken soup was quite nice. It was flavorful and had these awesome thin noodles inside which were prepared al dente. It also had nice, visible pieces of grilled chicken and carrots...And it was not greasy. While I still prefer my own homemade chicken soup, this was a decent alt-soup at a fast food restaurant. For my 'main' I had a grilled chicken wrap which was also quite tasty. The first bite or two didn't have much chicken, but the remainder of the wrap made up for it. The wrap also included a little romaine lettuce and a few cherry tomato halves. I liked the fact that it wasn't bathed in dressing either. Overall, a pretty good fast food option at Canary Wharf and I do feel that the food was healthier than other nearby options. I certainly have no reservations about coming back in the future...And actually look forward to trying a few other menu items.

They display their tantalising menu in the window of their restaurants, and what a menu it is! Basically this is good food fast. They do amazing 'main' boxes, my favourite being sweet potato falafel served with brown rice and coleslaw. Its crunchy, tasty and feels healthy. They have an ever changing seasonal menu, which reassures that the food you're eating is fresh. They offer an amazing harira soup in the Autumn packed full of chickpeas and spicy veggies, it's more of a stew than a soup and really fills you up. When you consider the immense amount of crap food on offer and readily available to consumers, this is a welcomed change. Take a look at their website for other locations, they do a great porridge at breakfast too!

I was in town with some co workers, one of which is on a low carb diet. So after seeing some good reviews of this Turkish restaurant with good selection of grilled meats, we figured to give it a try. It was 8 PM on a Monday evening so the place was quite empty which was nice as we wanted to catch up on some work discussions (I think there was just one other table occupied). The restaurant is located in a tiny little alleyway which added to the charm but did make it a challenge to find. The place is also very small....I'd call it a hole in the wall type. We looked through the menu and ordered the hummus, grilled sausage, and grilled sardines for appetizers and the lamb chops, chicken kebab, seared fish, and lamb kebobs for entrees. I can honestly say that we all loved everything. Oh, even the mint tea was delicious. This has just become my go to place every time I come to London (once every 2 months).
