The worst food ever! Felt nauseous right after the first bite of their lamb shish and it was shocking how rudely they treated my complaint!

The hot and cold mezze made for great appetizers, and our meals were excellent (we each tried something different).

You'll have to get a reservation in advance but do everything you can to come to this restaurant!!…read moreEverything we ate was so fresh and had such bold flavors. The assortment of salads and vegetables to choose from made for a light, energizing meal (until we got to dessert) and I can't recommend this restaurant enough!! It's not overly fancy and the focus is on the food. You walk in to what feels like a little market with salads and baked goods on display that you're able to order from the table. The menu always changes but honestly anything he makes is delicious so just try to taste as many things as possible!

I'd wanted to check out an Ottolenghi while we were in town anyway, and it seemed like a great place to get pastries for my husband and kids and something more interesting for me. We walked over from our hotel at around 12:30 on a Saturday, with the goal of getting back to the lobby by 1:00. Ottolenghi was nearby, tucked into a cute, very British sort of alley. Thankfully, the place was quiet, and we were able to sit and eat a fast lunch. The set-up was a little bit confusing, with a take-out operation in front and a larger cafe area with table service. The cafe seats were maybe not available for take-out customers, but I was able to talk to the host and get a table for a short dine-in situation, with food selected from the take-out section. The boys got croissants, but I wanted some of the lovely savory pastries and deli salads on display. Weirdly, I wasn't allowed to get the first thing I asked for, a tartine with sugar snap peas that was take-out only for some reason I cannot imagine. But I did get a brioche laden with courgette, pitsachio, and mint, as well as a summer deli plate with my choice of three salads. I went with the green beans with roasted pineapple and jalapeño dressing, the roasted carrots with pistachio, lemon, charmoula, and ricotta, and the roasted lemon and sweetcorn tabbouleh. Everything was fresh and tasty, and we were able to eat and leave in like twenty minutes flat. Service was fine, despite the arbitrary withholding of sugar snap peas. Ottolenghi is a London icon well known in America, and while I don't think it's as exciting as, say, Dishoom or St. John, it's also an easy, casual place with multiple locations, where you might get some good food on the go.

Went to Leon in Canary Wharf - Jubilee Place for a late lunch. My first time to Leon and what…read moreattracted me was the claim that their food was healthy and natural. Since I had just clicked a few miles on the treadmill, they hooked me. I ordered a chicken soup and chicken wrap. The chicken soup was quite nice. It was flavorful and had these awesome thin noodles inside which were prepared al dente. It also had nice, visible pieces of grilled chicken and carrots...And it was not greasy. While I still prefer my own homemade chicken soup, this was a decent alt-soup at a fast food restaurant. For my 'main' I had a grilled chicken wrap which was also quite tasty. The first bite or two didn't have much chicken, but the remainder of the wrap made up for it. The wrap also included a little romaine lettuce and a few cherry tomato halves. I liked the fact that it wasn't bathed in dressing either. Overall, a pretty good fast food option at Canary Wharf and I do feel that the food was healthier than other nearby options. I certainly have no reservations about coming back in the future...And actually look forward to trying a few other menu items.

They display their tantalising menu in the window of their restaurants, and what a menu it is! Basically this is good food fast. They do amazing 'main' boxes, my favourite being sweet potato falafel served with brown rice and coleslaw. Its crunchy, tasty and feels healthy. They have an ever changing seasonal menu, which reassures that the food you're eating is fresh. They offer an amazing harira soup in the Autumn packed full of chickpeas and spicy veggies, it's more of a stew than a soup and really fills you up. When you consider the immense amount of crap food on offer and readily available to consumers, this is a welcomed change. Take a look at their website for other locations, they do a great porridge at breakfast too!
