Fish and chips

Respite from the rain .. Yelp directed us to this quiet alleyway lined with eateries just step away from the London Eye. While we were contemplating which restaurant to patron, a kind gentleman "convinced" us to come in. (I don't think he would've taken no for an answer) They had a very nice space both inside and outside. We sat inside on the side with an open bar. We ordered fish and chips, Meze sampler (hummus, tabbouleh, tzatziki, falafel, pita), moussaka, chicken kabob. Everything was fresh and good. Service was friendly and attentive.

We are traveling, and it is a pity not knowing if we will eat a meal like this, I ordered the chicken kabob and a side of tabuli plate and it is delicious, cook perfectly in real fire grill and super juicy & fresh, felt in love with this meal. 100% recommended.

We are suckers for Mediterranean food and this place is no slouch to food quality either. This place is close to the London Eye. As usual, started with calamari (still no tentacles), chicken wings (very well marinated and grilled but not spicy). Both are still very enjoyable. Main courses were the routine with lamb chops (which was also as good as Fora's) and spicy chicken pot (medium in hotness but still flavorful). Really enjoyed the dishes here. Handwash station doesn't have any paper towels. Tons of outside seating.

The name of the restaurant outfront on the sign says TROIA,, different from this website. I tried this restaurant for the first time last night, it was delicious I ordered the chicken kebab which came with the rice and a salad and I ordered pita bread on the side. The service was great,And my food came quickly. The interior of the restaurant was beautiful. I also tried the baklava dessert which was really good!!

We ate at Southbank on Christmas night, and not many places were open so it was quite busy. The servers seemed a bit overwhelmed and service was quite slow. They had vegetarian and vegan options. The food was okay, it could have been more flavorful. The sautéed spinach side was probably my favorite food item. The bathrooms were very dirty but the kitchen looked clean from what I could see. Not the best dining experience but with so few options we were lucky to have a place to eat.

Despite being in the heart of a tourist zone across from a hotel, this was NOT a tourist trap. I was rubbing my eyes when I saw the four star overall on Yelp considering the location. Seriously all of the other places in the same area ranged from 2-3.5 stars. Service was friendly and fairly attentive. It was Father's Day and the waiter was quick to wish me good tidings. I'm fairly sure it was the owner who also came by later to say hello and ask if we were enjoying our meal which we did. The food is really tasty. Portions could be a little larger for the price but definitely well prepared. I got the lamb skewers which were excellent. Good seasoning and juicy. One daughter had the chicken skewers and same deal. Both come with a simple salad and basmati rice. My other daughter ate a burger which was standard. My wife ordered the seafood stew which came with prawns and squid (she opted out of mussels) vegetables in a creamy tomato sauce which worked wonders with the rice. We also got calamari which was yummy but again would have loved just a bit more on the plate. The bread they served was phenomenal. If you're looking for a good bite in this area Troia is worth the check-in.

Food was delicious! Tried the lamb moussaka and hummus. Both were outstanding. Great location close London Eye.

Review Highlights - Southbank

The Lamb Shish Kebab was great: the meat was juicy and tender; well-seasoned and just enough char to illicit the flavors.

Located in quaint Bermondsey, you'll be greeted by such cheery faces I didn't find often during my visit in London. Staff is amazing, delightfully attentive without being intrusive. I don't know if our server was the owner, but he was Italian and charming with great recommendations. His joy was inviting. Cute and intimate little gem and would have preferred to sit on patio but London was experiencing unusual heat wave. Pups are welcomed here and saw the cutest fur balls on patio. We started with cocktails and highly recommend the expresso martini. The chili passion martini was a little tart for my palate but if you love limoncello and passion fruit, this is your drink! Since we arrived on an unusually hot summer, loved the oysters of course. We ordered the tagliatelle bolognese ragout and the monkfish was incredible. If you're off the grid on vacation and need to pop out occasionally, find Baccala. If you're a local, you're already in the know. Come, sit and dine here with hair up. Sunnies on. World off.
