We held our Team Christmas lunch for 13 here. Service was on point from the get-go. We were welcomed by attentive, patient staff who seated us in the Private Dining area that was well lit and beautifully decorated (if not a tad noisy with the Christmas revelry and background muzak). The table had a couple of festive decorations and we were served complimentary warm breads, dips and marinated olives. We opted for the A LA CARTE menu after staff 'encouraged' us otherwise. Still, this menu was extensive and my colleagues said their food was served hot and well-seasoned. Clearly, the portions were generous. I ordered (Starter) '...Mimi Shish Trio...' (small but very tasty) and (Main) '...Sea Bream, served on a bed of creamy garlic mash potato and sauteed spinach...' Unfortunately, my mash was plain and unseasoned (not even salt...!!!). Just left Kazan. When I'm visiting london I stay in the area and have always wanted to try this place based on the reviews . It absolutely exceeded my expectations . Let's start with the service . I was a single diner and the place was packed . Nevertheless. I was greeted warmly , given a drinks and food menu and asked to wait near the bar in the back . While I was sitting there a waiter came over and offered me bottled water . I was seated shortly thereafter in another room . The service was so polite and friendly , I mean noticeably so. I ordered a small mixed mezze plate as an appetizer and the lamb chops . Everything was delicious. I also enjoyed a cocktail and a glass of red Turkish wine. Woah! Christmas day and we were trying to find any place that was open. Luckily I saw this place and walked in. Unfortunately, the place was packed. We asked if they had a table for 2 and the host said to give him a few minutes. We understood. We were just hoping someone would leave the restaurant, so we could be seated. We were famished. A few minutes later, more people walk into the restaurant and are asked to wait too. Then the host tells us a table is ready. We follow him downstairs to where other tables are arranged for the people that walked into the restaurant alongside us without a reservation. It was honestly better than the setup they had upstairs as it was warmer, intimate, and less crowded. They did not turn anyone away, which I am thankful for. They had a Christmas menu available at a set price of $45 per person. Each person could order an appetizer, main dish, and dessert. They had a separate menu for drinks, cocktails, and mocktails. We started off with a Lychee Martini and Lychee Mocktail. It was ecsquisite. It tasted exactly like lychee. It was sweet yet did not overpower the alcohol. The mocktail was carbonated and was quite refreshing. We ordered the Crispy Calamari and Pomegranate Chili Chicken Wings. These were fire! The calamari was ACTUALLY crispy! The wings were unique, but so tasty! We were so pleased with our starters. Our entrees were the Lamb Kebob with Rice and Chicken Breast Kebob with Fries. Both were so juicy and tender. We were amazed. This place serves the best kebobs we had ever had. We became fans of Turkish cuisine. However, the level of customer service the host and waiter showed made our night. We found this gem as a blessing in disguise since the first restaurant that we went to was packed and wait time was 45 minutes plus the fact that they are not friendly was a turn off for me. We're having our last dinner in London before flying back home. Though this place was busy they still manage to sit us right away. Service was top notch, very friendly, accommodating and warm. The host and our server made sure that we have everything we need and they checked on us to see that everything was good. The place was super cozy, clean and though busy it's still quiet and peaceful. All the diners seemed very well cultured. But let's get to the foods! I'm just so glad we went here instead of the other restaurant. First, the pedi bread - it is a bread from heaven! I love Texas Roadhouse bread, but now I can say that Kazan's bread with the olive oil dipping stole my heart. I ordered the Kazan special and it was super good! My hubby and our friend ordered their chicken and it was all delicious and sumptuous. Plus the pomegranate mojito is a must! Best mojito I've had. Kazan Kitchen was our first time eating Turkish food and we enjoyed every bit of it! This place was right down the way about 5-7 mins walk from our hotel in Westminster. For starters, the Falafel was crispy and tasty, and came with a creamy dipping sauce. The Baba Ganoush was also very good, served with bread. We also ordered the lamb and the "Limon I-tavuk" chicken (lemon & white wine sauce) which were both amazing! We were served rice and cooked vegetables (eggplant, peppers, and zucchini) with our meal. The food, service and ambiance was great for the causal meal we needed after a long night of traveling and a full day of sight seeing. Was in town for work and came here with a work colleague. The service was great. Everyone was attentive and helpful but not overbearing. We started with bread and olives. For our main, we ended up ordering a delicious meat medley with chicken, lamb and kofte. It was served on an elegant platter. Had the set menu for two for brunch. The service was very nice and attentive. I can't remember what the name of it was, but it was the one with all meat. It was pretty good. Of course, the best pieces they give you only a small piece of but distract you with other decent meat that it's still worth it. It came with a salad that was not excited to be there. Fries even less so. That's why I'm giving it a 3. The hummus was good but I've had better back at home (which is an international city but not like London so that's another mark). Kazan is definitely well worth its value in every way possible. It's quite close to the Victoria tube station, all you have to do is go down Wilton Road for a few blocks and it's on the right side. The waiters were very helpful and very friendly and did not have any attitude when I was talking to them. The decor of the restaurant is dim enough to create an intimate atmosphere. There are not a whole lot of restaurant choices in the area, so Kazan offers a great venue for having a properly nice meal or holiday parties. The food is delicious here but not that authentic according to my Turkish colleague, then again, he considers most Turkish food unauthentic if it is outside of Turkey. Both the cold and hot mezze were good. As for main, I don't think anything quite beat the Sultan's Shish Kebabs. Juice cubes of lamb grilled to perfection with rice and salad. If it is good enough for the Sultan, it is definitely good enough for me. I have friends who tried lamb cutlet and chicken and they all gave good reviews. If you are in the area, it is a great option, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

The decor of this place is fancier than any other Turkish restaurant I've visited in the states. Dim and dark, it looks like it would become a nightclub after 12am. My mates and I enjoyed most of the dishes that we ordered. We started off with the stuffed sardines that was wrapped in grape leaves. Tasty, but watch out of the many small bones. The hummus was a little disappointment though, as it was tasteless and the serving small. I ordered the lamb shish which was grilled tender and had no gamy taste. The roasted lamb dish that my partner had was also a winner, as the meat fell of the bone. Overall an enjoyable dinner and the location is easy to find. This is a very popular Turkish restaurant, a few minutes' walk from Victoria station, with excellent food and restrained dark-wood decor. I've never heard anything but praise for the food itself, which explains its popularity. The set lunch at £10 is very good value. The evening meals, including a good range of mezzes, vary in price - expect to pay about £30+ a head for dinner. Plenty of vegetarian options available. The service has always been very friendly, although it can slow up when they are busy, as well as getting a bit noisy. Great for a get together with friends, but lunch is a better bet for business. The service was excellent, and I was able to get a glass of Turkish wine to go with the meal. We found this place on Yelp, and decided to give it a go. Best decision ever made, this restaurant delivers on so many levels. Initially we were served a bread basket with a plate of olives (delicious.) We ordered tabbouleh salad and an eggplant purée dip for starters, and we got lamb cutlets with rice and chicken skewers with chips for the mains. The starters were great, but let me tell you, the lamb was cooked IMPECCABLY, just right. They were hearty chunks grilled on the outside with a pink center, it was so tender and absolutely delicious. The chicken was also seasoned and cooked to perfection, I didn't know you could get so much out of chicken breasts. The meal ends with a small plate of complimentary Turkish delights, which I've never liked, but they were so good that I had two. Bottom line? We decided to share a few dishes and whilst some of the portions are small since the prices are right, it's fine to order lots. We ordered the prawns wrapped in shredded filo, chicken shish, chicken wings, the sausages, baba ganoush, the harem salad, the goat cheese cotted in walnut and more.
