Genuine and kind hospitality with extremely delicious food - easily one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in London. I usually don't like liver, but their liver dish was the best I've ever had and completely changed my perspective. The chicken shawarma was fantastic, served in huge portions that left me more than satisfied. I only wish they also served beef shawarma too, but that's just a personal preference and doesn't take away from the overall amazing experience. Best middle-eastern food I've ever had! We got our food and drinks extremely fast, the workers were so nice! My Shish Tawouk was incredible. This restaurant is now called Baba Ghanouj, but I could not find a yelp listing for the new name. We were here on May 28, 2023 for a late night snack. The menu is expansive and it was really hard to decide what to order. I wanted something somewhat small and ended up with a chicken shawarma wrap. My hubby got the kafta plate. I didn't care too much for the shawarma wrap - I'm used to the chicken not including skin/fat like it did here. The kafta on the other hand was amazing! I wish we had time on our trip to come back here, there were so many items I would have liked to try. They have breakfast, which is nice because I found it hard to get a decent breakfast that was not sweets/pastries in the area. If we stay in the area again the next time we're in London, we will be sure to return. read more

The location close to Paddington station would make it a perfect tourist trap. FORTUNATELY, this is an excellent diner/lunch/all day place. The portions are generous and - while I did not test all the hummus in the world - their's great (creamy, smokey and a dash of olive oil). The service is quick and nice. Grilled chicken is tasty (not dry) and vegetable servings are generous and really tasty (moussaka is a delight). I got a fattoush salad with lamb shawarma, food came out pretty quickly, was given a garlic sauce and red sauce. Was asked if I wanted bread and I affirmed, bread was really thin but paired well with the food. Salad was fresh, lamb was flavorful although some pieces were a bit tough. Good amount of food. A gem in the middle of a touristy area. Steps from Paddington station this little spot serves up excellent middle eastern fare. Service was fast and friendly. The lentil soup was delicious. Lamb and chicken schwarma was fantastic ( chicken just a tad dry). The Kafta Meshwi was a hit. Topping it off were a couple of complimentary bacclava pieces. Was busy but deservedly so. I wish I could give this restaurant 6 stars. First of all, the food was great. The wait wasn't long. The price was fair for the amount of food. There were vegan options and it said if it has grain or other allergens, the sanitary was also good. The servers were great, there were complementary sweets at the end. This popular restaurant near Paddington station is a must try. I was skeptical about the food in London but this reasonably priced, middle-eastern food place made me wrong. The place was packed on a Monday night and we were quickly seated. The mint drink was such a great start to the meal as was the addition to hummus to the pita. The chicken shawarma came with some yummy sauce (honestly it was so much food!) and the three little lamb chops was the perfect amount for the hungry teenager who ate all of his meal. I stayed at a nearby hotel during my trip to London, and there was a decent sized queue in front of Paramount every evening so we decided to check it out for dinner. Modern and sleek, the restaurant was filled with a vibrant and buzzing atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We had one of the best meals of our entire London stay at Baba Ghanouj near the Gloucester tube station. My large saj chicken with garlic sauce was SO delicious. My husband loved his lamb chops, which were tender and perfect. We shared a dessert, which was a creamy custard topped with honey, pistachios and rose water - magnificent.
