Wow I loved the food here! We stumbled upon this gem by accident but I'm so glad we did. The food felt very authentic and was very delicious. I ordered the Shish Taouk sandwich and WOW. The baba ghanoush was also so yummy especially with the warm Lebanese bread. The ambiance was nice but pretty plain, the staff friendly, and the service was quick. The best Lebanese food! We have eaten here multiple times for their wraps alone. Doesn't hurt that they sell ferrer rocher ice cream as well! Hummus is pur perfection, but those wraps really took everything over the top!! I love the outdoor seating on a good day, but there's also room inside to eat as well. We went with a double stroller, and they were still able to accomodate us. Great place to stuff your face, then continue shopping or just spend the day taking in the sites and sounds of London (or people watching, which is great to do when seated outside). I based my hotel stay in London so I could be close to this. I can't say enough about the level of delicious flavors we experienced here! I was looking forward to eating some Lebanese food in London, but the moment we stepped into this restaurant I felt some bad vibes, the owner was unfriendly and rude, he gave us some weird looks before directing us to the second level. They had wraps on the menu but for some dumb reasons we cannot order them if you're seated on the second floor. So we ordered some mezza and I asked my son to order wraps from the first floor of the restaurant and bring them back. As soon as my son came back with the wraps, a waiter told us that we cannot eat them on the table and had to eat them downstairs, needless to say, I got into an argument with that bloke questioning his logic since it's the same damn restaurant. But since courtesy and logic is lacking with these people, they kept arguing that it's their rule of law and cannot compromise. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. When I travel I either rely on Yelp or on the locals to tell me where to eat. I was about to leave Harrods and because everything closes early in London I wanted to eat in the neighborhood. I found this restaurant to have great reviews on Yelp. I also asked the security guard at Harrods where to eat and he didn't even hesitate to say Maroush! This is a super small restaurant, just the way I like it! The food was everything I hoped for when I thought amazing Lebanese cuisine! This was the most phenomenal Lebanese food I have ever had! We ordered a variety of cold and hot mezza including Labneh, Mouhamara, Hommos Beiruty, falafel, kibbeh and Jawaneh chicken wings. I was looking forward to having Arabic food here but was left with negative experience. As soon as we walked in everything felt weird. They told us to go upstairs to eat, I was eating with my family. I wanted to order wraps and so did another member of my family. So I went down to order the wraps and as soon as I sat at the table with the bag of wraps the waiter immediately came over and told us that we could not eat the wraps upstairs. He kept trying to argue with us that it was rude to the other customers which made 0 sense to me as many other people were asking about wraps. No logic here so I was forced to go eat downstairs instead of eating with my family. Incredibly rude service and after our fight the waiter continues to walk past us giving us dirty looks. On top of that when I was walking downstairs the owner of the restaurant proceeded to tell me that I was the idiot for not knowing that the wraps could not he brought upstairs. So this is maybe 18 years overdue ! I'm the number 1 fan of Maroush and no one can argue that! I dream and talk about their shawerma since I lived in London back in 2004, and I go to London only to eat at their restaurant! I've sent my friend and family to this specific location over the years to try their food. Hands down best chicken shawerma on earth, no where even in the Middle East you can get something so good and authentic. I remember back in 2015 I took my new bride to the restaurant to talk to the chef so he can teach her how to make their garlic sauce, which I still have on video! The menu is filled with middle eastern cuisine and it's by far one of the most delicious spots in London!! They are famous for their chicken kabob wrap, that I had last year when I wasn't yet vegan... and now going back veggie style I was homeostasis delighted to experience that kind of flavor without meat!!!! We were craving Middle Eastern food and happened to be window shopping at Harrods. This is an easy walk. Upon arrival we were met with a very confusing multi level setup - I'm pretty sure this used to be an old house that was converted. It was very unclear where to go and what food was served in each location. We went upstairs to the restaurant - but then got sent downstairs to wait with the take out section. There wasn't really anywhere to wait other than right by the kitchen where there were dirty plates and food leftovers. Eventually we were led back up to the restaurant level and sat in what appeared to be an old conservatory. The service was very lacking. That being said, the food was pretty decent. Lamb Soujok - Spicy sausage served in an acidic sauce. Very nice Bammieh B'zeit - Cold Okra in tomato sauce. Very Good! Spicy hummus and pita - No complaints. The waitress brought a second round of pita while we were eating. Falafel - Very moist and flavorful. This was a highlight of the meal. I've had many Falafel that was overcooked and not moist. We were starving after a long day of touristing. This place was a godsend. The food was beyond good. It's not easy to make hummus and tabouleh memorable, but theirs was so tasty we want to come back again. And this is in London, where by rights we should try more places!!!The green beans and lamb daily special was perfectly seasoned and textured. The dessert was "just" a fruit plate and baklava. It was "just" perfectly ripe apples, pears, oranges, grapes, and honeydew melon. As a baklava fan, I can swear this is some of the best I've ever ever eaten. One is the best LEBANESE FOOD ever. Service is not really the friendliest to be honest. I had major pregnancy cravings for Babaghanoush. We ordered way too much food: Babaghanoush Hummus with shawarma Labneh Falafel Lamb Shawarma They started us off with a bowl of olives and fresh veggies (cucumber, tomato, red bell pepper, romaine lettuce) which went well with all the food. I've never had fresh veggies provided like that but it was delightful and fresh. Complimentary plate of fruit at the end was a nice touch too and somehow I managed to stretch my stomach to eat everything. Came on a Thursday night. Came back on a Saturday night and the service was much worse on a busier night. read more

Lebanese food. It doesn't come to mind as one of my favorite places to eat but now I may have to rethink that after a visit to Maroush. It was late to eat in London (11pm) and most of the places around my hotel were no longer serving food. A bartender at a nearby pub suggested Maroush which we grabbed at. We walked in and were directed to the restaurant side of the place (one side is for counter service and take out) where we were seated immediately. We began to peruse the menu. Now having never had Lebanese food- and with my colleague a bit of a picky eater (it was all I could do to get her to sit and stay for the meal) I knew I was going to have to be smart in my choices as she deferred the ordering to me. We started with hummus and some type of grilled cheese served with tomatoes and cucumbers. Our server also brought us a couple of Lebanese beers which were quite good. I began to see a smile on my colleague's face. So far so good. Then on to the entrees. I went with the lamb and chicken combo (sort of like shish kabobs) seasoned with some great (but unknown) spices and served with what I think was yogurt and some kind of spicy sauce, while she had grilled chicken. We also had a side of the rice. Quite good all the way around. The food came up quickly and was devoured just as quickly. Our server was very helpful- pointing out things on the menu that she liked and showing us how we might want to put the various sauces and foods together. She also brought out some complimentary Lebanese desserts which were the perfect, sweet way to end our evening. The manager told me that this place does most of it's business between 11pm and 3am as it is one of the places that stays open for when the clubs in the area close down . Reasonable prices too! I knew the evening meal had been a success when I heard my colleague praising it to others the next day. A good night for a couple of Lebanese food newbies! read more

Boy, this place has some really, really good food. Coming from a Lebanese family with many great cooks, I am pretty picky when it comes to Middle Eastern fare. I can confidently say that aside from home, this is the best Middle Eastern/Lebanese food I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Service is amazingly attentive. Prices are reasonable. Food is outstanding. Definitely order: - hummus (or hommos) - the spicy Lebanese salad (or Marroush salad if you don't like spicy) - shish taouk - amazingly tender chicken skewers served with garlic sauce - lamb shawarma - enough said - kafta khosh-khash - minced lamb skewers with amazing sauce and onions I wish I had more room to try more because I'm sure you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Fiancé's coworker recommended this place and we decided to go for a late dinner after shopping at Harrod's (just less than 2 blocks away). This place opens till 4:30am! We got the hummus with lamb and the chicken liver wrap to start. The hummus came with sliced grilled lamb on top and was delicious. The chicken liver was wrapped in bread with a yogurt sauce, tomatoes and pickles. It was cooked to a great texture. The main dish we ordered was the lamb roast with a side of haluomi cheese. The lamb roast is a good portion lamb leg with heavily spiced rice, topped with roasted pine nuts. The cheese was grilled so it had an interesting texture. It was served with tomato slices and cucumber slices. This was our first time having Lebanese food and I've got to say Maroush's got us hooked! We were fresh off the plane and in need of good quality london dining in contrary to the worst airplane food experience in my lifetime on my favorite carrier - Delta. Found this place on a busier street in the neighborhood, but uncrowded and no frills. Ordered a salad and two lamb pitas and was pleasantly surprised. Salad was fresh and the lamb pitas were hot and delicious. Only spent 18 euro here for two, left feeling satiated but overly full.
