Roast Pork Tajine with sweet onions and raisons. Absolutely delicious.
Eddie F.

First time in Windsor. This place was recommended to me by a local. So glad I came. The food was delicious. Just heavenly. They offer olives as a starter. I hate olives. But, I could eat theirs all day. The mix of spices are superb on all the dishes I had such as the Lamb Tarjine with sweet onions and raisons. Even the coffee was delicious. Moroccan coffee with a hint of cinnamon and ginger. The staff is very welcoming and willing to explain anything you have questions about. I can't wait to come here again the next time I visit the UK.

Just went tonight after touring Windsor Castle. We are from the States here for business and went in the recommendation of a local exPat friend. Such a great choice with amazing and gracious service and wonderful food. We started with a variety of room temp vegetarian small dishes and then for mains We had vegetarian tagine w couscous and chicken tagine w lemon/olives w rice. We loved everything. Highly recommend.

TL:DR version - OK food for an OK price, nothing remarkable enough to make me want to come back. Moroccan cuisine hasn't really been on my radar but with the opportunity to have dinner in Windsor we turned to Yelp and thought this looked interesting enough to give it a try. We arrived early (according to me it was early, Izy disputed this but I'm always right as was the case here) At around 7pm and we were the only people in the restaurant. The interior is quite homely, we has passed a new Moroccan restaurant on our walk down Peascod Street to get here which looked a lot more modern. Upon arrival here I felt the setting seemed much more authentic for a Moroccan restaurant (note: actual number of restaurants I've visited in Morocco = 0). There is nothing flash about it, but the carved wooden door and friezes along the walls coupled with the traditional Moroccan music playing in the background created a nice ambiance. The menu choices were quite varied, with a decent selection for vegetarians as well. I started with Mergas, billed as Moroccan spicy sausage with salad and pitta bread. The sausage was good although I thought it was a bit over priced at £6.95, Izy chose the Al Fassia salad which tasted good and seemed better value to me. For main I chose Couscous Al Fassia, this was my biggest let down of the meal. The lamb was good but the chicken was plain and worse still rather dry. I'm never normally one to leave food on my plate but the dry chicken defeated me. As a signature dish I was really hoping for more. I thought Izy's chicken maghdour was better but likewise she wasn't blown away. Our meal with a bottle of light and delicate rose wine (read that as bland and lacking flavour) totalled £60. We left not disappointed, just indifferent towards the idea of going back. It was about 9pm when we left (no longer early ;) and the restaurant was almost full.

Oh, so good! Service was very friendly and the food was yummy! If I ever get back to Windsor (and I plan on it), I will be hitting Al Fassia up again. Wish I could transport myself across the pond to eat here once in a while. Was a nice option and an easy walk from the train station where we arrived from London for the day. If you are a tourist like myself and my husband and here to see Windsor Castle and have never had Moroccan food, I definitely recommend it.

Walking into a dark but very inviting Mediterranean hot spot not really knowing what to expect I was greeted by nothing but love by the owner who is also the front of the house host, waiter and historian on the food. He exudes passion for what he does; which providing a wonderful authentic Moroccan home cooked meal. His approach is to make you like a real friend or loved one. He did not let me down. The dishes presented themselves. He used authentic Moroccan crockery to prepare a present some of the most flavorful food I've ever experienced in the city of London. As I always say, I'll set your expectations for what you want as you come in to any place I write about. It's a small intimate dinning experience where you should bring friends and loved ones. The decor will take you to a different place, away from the hustle and bustle of London, to a foreign land that has exotic foods prepared with love and the ultimate patron experience in mind. I had Moroccan wine for the first time and wont be he last. It was absolutely fabulous, I wasn't sure what to expect but I have to put Spain on notice. I highly recommend the MD Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot which had a very nice overtones of earth and pepper. You have to check it out if you find yourself in London and looking for a new expirence.

It oozes Morrocan charm from the moment you walk in through the old Morrocan doors. The effort that has been put into this restaurant is more than apparent; from the ceiling lights to the Small tagine pots cemented in around the top of the bar. It truly was a delight to eat in a restaurant with such ambiance. The restaurant offer a more secluded eating area at the back to seat around 10-15 people on traditional seating which essentially are large thick cushions on the floor. It looks beautiful and can be booked in advance for larger groups (birthday dinner etc). They are also working on the upper floor which should be available for party hire. Now on to the food as i could go on forever about every little detail of this beautiful restaurant. For starters i had the cheese and spinach bourek which was lovely it was a decent portion and not too oily which as it is fried i am sure many know how restaurants can go wrong with this simple starter. For the main course i went for a lamb tagine and i wasn't disappointed, it was delicious. It burst with all the right flavors and was a very generous portion. Those of you who enjoy Morrocan/North African food will love this place, I have yet to try out other dishes on there menu but i can tell you something i may soon become a regular at this local gem! Enjoy!!
