A menu made out of wood

Egyptian food ey? Ra Ra oh la la! They have their own Gordon Ramses working the kitchen! With many Lebanese and Gulf dishes along with some Indian dishes. Cute Santa and snowmen hanging from the ceiling. A very large fish tank at the back. In terms of background music there seems to be a trend these days to play very slow cover version of pop hits. This was until we told them to play something Egyptian, which they did. We made our lunch into a Mid East tapas table. Batata Harara - most importantly not dry. Then there was the spinach pastry, medium thick style pasty, a bit tangy lemon taste. Then a ground chicken pastry with the thin filo type pastry, looks like an Indian Samosa. Should have maybe come with a sauce. The penne dish with ground lamb and bechamel sauce is baked to perfection. Lucky to have found this place as it is one of the few reasonably priced restaurants in the expensive Knightsbridge. Bit slow waiting for the bill, but seems unfair to knock a star for that.

An establishment that does not align with an inclusive Britain.

Right after experiencing Natural History Museum, we were in this area and saw this amazing,…read morebeautiful restaurant. Of course, we had to try this. First thing that will struck yoy- is its ambience. It's gloriously lively inside. Shelves are lined with imported goods, with so many items on the wall, and lighting hanging from the ceilings. If you have been to any Turkish shop in a Christmas market, it's the same. Anyway, we waited around 15-20 minutes to get the table. We started with their local beers - Local Beirut beer and Menabrea Beer: I won't say, it was unique, but yeah, it had good taste. We were here with a friend from Amsterdam, and we were having a good time. Server did remind us about the main course.. hahaa.. we ordered * Mixed Grill- Lamb chicken kofta with veggies and sauces * Lamb Kofta Grill -grilled ground lamb with veggies and sauces * Batata Harra - small potato pieces in spices... * Baba Ghanuj- smooth smoked eggplant- that's my fav * Warm Flatbread - their in-house bread with olive oil. Goes with baba ghanuj... what an awesome pair... I could have eaten this only without complaint. The food was plentiful, bright, delicious, and filling without being heavy for one person. And did I mention AWESOME! The tastes, the decor, the service, and the value all came together for a perfect meal in London at Comptoir Libanais. This is an absolutely fabulous spot. Try it out if you are near to Musuem neighborhood.
