So called grilled vegetables.
Sarah D.

Really bad service and over priced. Nobody could explain the menu when we asked a simple question as "what is included in the grill mains". They told us there was going to be garlic sauce, no garlic sauce was included. We had to remind the waiter. One of us ordered the grilled vegetable as sides, but got cooked vegetables with potato. No lebanese restaurant (or any other...) serves cooked potato as grilled vegetables. Waiter insisted it was grilled vegetables but you can clearly see that it's not. Rude staff and will advice to avoid going here. They get 2 stars because food was alright.

King prawns are a must order!

Was walking past this upbeat restaurant on a cold, rainy day to catch a cab. Off to my side was this Mediterranean/Lebanese-ish spot, in which I couldn't resist a good hookah. I saw the hookah and said to myself, "okay I got to try England's!" Seating is outside if you are going to smoke. Not to fear because they have thick cozy blankets (in the fall) for you, along with portable heaters. It was busy, but I was seated immediately upon arrival. I let the nice waiter choose the hookah flavors for me, pineapple mint. Definitely ask if you don't have a preference. Two hours later I'm with hookah and vodka water in hand, I got hungry. So I ate light, "king prawns". Lol. Look, flavored smoking works up an appetite. Prawns were grilled to perfection with a tasty dipping sauce. So after all was said and done, my Heart and belly were happy and full. A rainy day in London, turned out to be a lovely Mediterranean adventure for me.

Dinner was spectacular! I had a boneless half chicken that was served with a garlic sauce and a chili sauce. Both were sensational. The server couldn't have been cooler and the baklava was beyond. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Amazing menu with plenty of selections

On the last day of our trip we walked into this restaurant. We chose it due to it's close location to our hotel, and it was a choice based on convenience as opposed to interest. I was quickly surprised. After a full day of tours and sightseeing we were tired and hungry. Upon entering the restaurant the staff greeted us with a friendly and inviting demeanor that immediately helped improve my mood. Although, it's not much to look at from the outside, the inside is clean, and well decorated with modest middle eastern decor. The quality of the meal was nothing short of amazing. The appetizer they served me had the tastiest hummus I've ever had. I ordered a shrimp plate that caught my attention and I can honestly say this was the single best shrimp recipe I've ever had in my life. I would have gladly payed the chef hundreds of dollars for the recipe just so I could recreate it at home. My wife enjoyed her meal just as much as I did. We quickly agreed that this had been the single best meal of the entire trip. Now if I can just talk the owner into selling me that recipe

This was one of our favorite meals in London! Hubby needed "something different" and this fit the…read morebill nicely. Here's what we ordered and enjoyed most: Thyme kellaj: crisp, filled with delish zaatar, perfect for me Hummus: creamy dream, perfectly balanced Labneh: thick, creamy, dreamy. Chicken Fallouj: huge portion. Perfectly cooked, no dryness and full of flavor. Went very well with the labneh. Falafel: crispy, BIG, but not as big on the flavor as I was expecting. Did like that it came with a tahini sauce and pickled turnips which cut the heaviness. Actually wouldn't get again because the other items filled me right up. The only "miss" of the meal for me. Passion fruit martini is a MUST get for you fruity drink people. Really tasted like passion fruit. The old fashioned is a miss for my husband -- he couldn't explain why but he just wasn't into it. Please note that this restaurant is in a smaller space so you probably would need a reservation on weekends.

Lovely cozy restaurant off the beaten (tourist) path. The beans (foul) were my favorite. The baba ganoush lacked the smoky flavor that I usually love about it. But everything else was tasty and hit the spot after a day of playing tourist in London. Service was swift and nice. I would certainly come back again.

First thing that will struck yoy- is its ambience. It's gloriously lively inside. Shelves are lined with imported goods, with so many items on the wall, and lighting hanging from the ceilings. If you have been to any Turkish shop in a Christmas market, it's the same. Anyway, we waited around 15-20 minutes to get the table. We started with their local beers - Local Beirut beer and Menabrea Beer: I won't say, it was unique, but yeah, it had good taste. We were here with a friend from Amsterdam, and we were having a good time. Server did remind us about the main course.. hahaa.. we ordered * Mixed Grill- Lamb chicken kofta with veggies and sauces * Lamb Kofta Grill -grilled ground lamb with veggies and sauces * Batata Harra - small potato pieces in spices... * Baba Ghanuj- smooth smoked eggplant- that's my fav * Warm Flatbread - their in-house bread with olive oil. Goes with baba ghanuj... what an awesome pair... I could have eaten this only without complaint. The food was plentiful, bright, delicious, and filling without being heavy for one person. And did I mention AWESOME! The tastes, the decor, the service, and the value all came together for a perfect meal in London at Comptoir Libanais. This is an absolutely fabulous spot. Try it out if you are near to Musuem neighborhood.
