Really enjoyed my dinner at Tagine Beverly Hills. The food was flavorful and fresh, the atmosphere felt cozy and upscale at the same time. Service was friendly and attentive without being overwhelming. Definitely a place I'd come back to.

This is an interesting place. While I found the food to be good the service was horrible. We did not have reservations so they sat us in the corner next to the door when there were plenty of tables open-I asked to get moved they said they have reservations coming in I thought no big deal. Then 1 person came in with a dog and they sat at a table for 4 people. Another couple came in without reservations and they got a nice table towards the middle of the restaurant. The food took a really long time to come out. Lamb Bastia -a very unique taste and delicious. Thin crispy outside Chicken tagine - also very good and had really good flavor Chocolate soup- must try. It was delicious! Food is at a 4. Service at 2.

Bastilla des Poissons: Salmon et Loup de Mer/salmon & Sea Bass; Rosé Domaine de Sahari, Maroc 2019

A mysterious, intricately carved, bas relief patterned door in aquamarine framed by peach colored rectangles with cast iron latches is what strikes your eyes upon seeing Tagine which refers to the conical lidded cooking ceramic cooking utensil common in North African cooking that steams and grills at the same time. Wall colors varying from reddish teakwood and the same peach are vivid in the early evening when the setting sun rushes in and then becomes saturated as the sun sets turning the dining room into intimate darkness. Round tables whose surfaces inlaid with geometric parquetry, plush banquettes and crimson throw pillows, and sturdy wood chairs create formal yet laid back comfort. Don't expect theatrical & touristy "One Thousand One Nights" titillating belly dancing, sword balancing, "exotic" music. Tagine is an oasis to refresh & rejuvenate. Amuse Gueule: 0) Creamy, charred black grill marked Pita bread that becomes creamy is used to dip into garlicky, lemony, ultra puréed, soft Hummus. 1) Bastilla: A mélange of salmon & seabass baked together with complex herb mix incorporating a touch of piquant red chile Harissa sauce. Olive oil may be present for a fatty rich feel. All is wrapped in delicate, crispy, airy filo dough. 2) Tagine au Loup de Mer/seabass is flavoured with Charmoula which includes garlic, cumin, coriander, oil, lemon juice, salt. Also a mild, sweet tomato based thickened sauce surrounds the Tagine based dish. Sweet carrots, zucchini, broccoli are placed under large pieces of fish with good seabass flavor; firm yet flakey, parts are pleasantly chewy like dried cod. All the flavours meld together. 0-2a) Rosé: Domaine de Sahari Vin Gris de Maroc 2019 is Grenache lightly macerated to give this wine a reddish, yellow orange tint. Grown at the foot of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco at 1800 feet. Bouquet: tangerine, waxy, gold raisins, mildly resinous Taste: raspberry, sour cherry, unripe strawberry, tingly, refreshingly very acidic, bitter, high minerality Finish: raspberry, tingly tongue & palate, agrodolce/sweet sour. 3) Soupe au Chocolat: Banana ice cream, chunky roasted almonds. Milk chocolate syrup is poured over for dramatic effect. Pleasant atmosphere takes you away to an intimate eatery tucked away in a far off souk in Marrakesh. The waiter is very soft spoken to carry on the air of mystery. 4 stars

Food here was perfection. The lamb bastilla was crispy crunchy flaky while being savory and sweet. It was so unique and nothing like I've had before. The chicken tagine was absolutely amazing. The chicken breast was incredibly juicy with a flavorful sauce almost like curry. My gripe is the service was pretty poor, specifically the host who was welcoming to other guests but did not bother to tell us what dishes we had when he delivered them. There were also other guests that came in after us who were served before us. Also it took 45 minutes from the time we ordered to getting our first dish. So come here if you want to spend a couple hours on a slow paced dinner.

September 2024 | Beverly Hills: In a series of birthday celebrations for my birthday month, friends surprised me w/reservations at Tagine Beverly Hills! Fun! Decor: Love! Once we stepped inside, I immediately said... Reminds me of Morocco!!! Love the deep, rich colors, woodwork, chandeliers, and just the whole vibe! Beautiful! Loves the low lighting, along with candles! Even the dinner plates were stunning! I felt the essence of Morocco at this this restaurant for sure! Customer Service: Friendly & lots of laughs from each person we encountered, very welcoming! I'm also incredibly grateful that my friends had given them my birthday cake, which was hidden in the kitchen & they brought out after dinner! Thanks again! Vegetarian Tagine: As to the food, the appetizers had flavor, and then came the main meal, a Vegetarian Tagine, which I was so excited for, as all of the spices would bring back memories of being in Morocco last year! Unfortunately, there was no flavor. I received just a few veggies on top of mashed potatoes... I was confused! Moroccan food is full of spices and flavor...! I asked our server if they were spices and she said yes! So I then asked for harissa to bring about the flavor... Didn't help... I took a few bites and didn't finish... Water: $9 Still Water & $9 Sparkling Water! What?! Wine: Perfect recommendations! Overall: Loved the decor, vibe, excellent customer service and captured the "essence" of Morocco! However, the meal needed to match! It was a nice experience to try something new, but at least some flavor is what I need! Afterwards, my friends took me to another Moroccan restaurant on Melrose that I absolutely love and we had a blast, including tons of flavor! Score!

I have been meaning to leave this review since I visited this restaurant in late September for my Birthday. The chef made both delicious and beautiful looking dishes. The chef surprised me with dessert he made for my Birthday and the waitress brought it out while playing Moroccan music. The waitress was so warm and made us feel at home. My experience at Tagine was memorable and it's obvious they do everything with attention to detail and love.

The food and service was wonderful and of the highest quality. The manager Dino was so kind and made us feel very comfortable. Definitely visiting again soon.

Tagine has been on my list for a long time and finally got the chance to go last week to try it out and it did not disappoint Located on the quiet end of Beverly Hills, Tagine has a cute, cozy and romantic atmosphere. With probably less than 20 tables, the restaurant is quiet, intimate and great spot for date night or a low key dinner friends The staff is super friendly and attentive. One callout is they only serve beer and wine but had a small but good selection to choose from. I had a glass of the Malbec and it went great with the dishes we got for dinner. We ordered the house hummus, chicken tagine, and lamb tagine. Their portions are very generous, we even had leftovers The hummus and chicken tagine were exceptional! The lamb couscous was more sweet than we expected. Would pair better with additional savory veg or startch to break it up. But the meat was so tender and didn't have the usual gamey taste that lamb sometimes gives off Overall I would love to go back and try more of their other Moroccan house dishes and signature chocolate soup! We were too full to try it this time around...but next time for sure.

Came here for a dinner where the whole restaurant was booked out, extremely impressed with the food and service and ambience. This restaurant makes me want to go to Morocco! AMBIENCE: lovely decor, very intimate feel, love the detail on the wooden tables, sat in the corner with comfy couches and cushions. FOOD: hummus and fresh warm pita were some of the best I've had, lick your plate good! The Sea bass was also amazing, perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of veggies and sauce. Sweet tea and classic baklava rounds out an amazing dinner! SERVICE: water was always filled, they were generous with the sweet tea (watch them pour it!) PARKING: meter parking is free after 6pm, easy to find on a weekday night Go check it out and see if you can spot Ryan Gosling ;)

I have a sweet tooth and always like sweet/savory dishes so i ordered the honey lamb couscous. It wasn't as sweet as the name would imply! I thought it was a great balance. The honey flavor was subtle. The more predominant flavor note of the lamb was a little char that made it even more rich and heavenly. Eggplant in the sauce also contributed to the earthy warmth of the dish. I love! Companions also liked their choices. Service was prompt and correct for us, but the table next to us had a little problem, one of them ordered the Vegetarian Tasting and at each course, was brought the corresponding dish from the Signature Tasting, it had to go back to the kitchen and be replaced. Everyone was mellow about it even when they were done and discovered the Signature Tasting on their bill. An example of the laid-back vibe at an early dinner here. Also, late afternoon sun made the interior well illuminated at this time of year--I'd been a bit worried after reading the other reviews here mentioning the low lights. I would definitely return for an actual tagine dish next time!

Baklava

When I first got to the restaurant, it took me a minute to realize how to open their very decorative front door. When I walked inside, I felt like I was walking into the living room of someone's home. I was immediately greeted by the waitstaff (a man and a woman) who promptly seated me at a cute little table with comfy chairs as I waited for my friend to arrive. They were both very attentive throughout our meal and made sure we had everything we needed. To start, we shared a chicken bastilla, which tasted like a hybrid between chicken pot pie and baklava. To me, it was an odd combination of savory and sweet. I'm not sure I would order that again. My friend enjoyed the chicken tagine and I had the lamb. Both of our entrees were tender, flavorful with a good marriage of spices. The portions were generous. The baklava was decent but pretty standard. Loved the mint tea!

The bruschetta was super fresh, light, and a great starter. The tomatoes were juicy and bright with that classic garlic and basil flavor. Nonna's meatball was also really good. It was tender and the marinara that had that slightly sweet, tomato-forward flavor with parmesan melted into it. And paired with the bread, it felt very comforting. The rigatoni vodka was solid. Pasta was cooked well, nice and al dente, and the sauce was creamy and so rich. The margherita pizza was a little on the smaller side, but honestly perfect for the two of us ladies to share alongside everything else. The tiramisu was a really nice way to finish the meal. Light, creamy and balanced. I loved the vibes here. Dim lighting, cozy ambience, and the service was pretty fast. I would definitely come back again.

Unfortunately, I think the vibe is completely off with this type of food, and I think it's hurting their customer base (I.e, there's a sports watching day, and live DJ?, but the food is definitely more for upscale vibes). I also didn't know they have a rotating menu with different chefs, so when I came in craving for something like steak frites and find out the don't have it even though their sample menu lists it on their website, it kind of throws my mood a little. Moreover, their wine list is not extensive considering it's a wine bar, and wine mentioned in their name :) Anyways I've digressed. With this special menu, I ordered the scallop tostada and maitake taco. The scallops were very fresh, and it was a very well balanced dish. I would totally order this again! The maitake mushroom was exploding with flavors, though I find the sauce a little too salty for my taste. If I came here just for food, I'd come back and try new things!

The staff is well-dressed, well-trained, and genuinely friendly; the host on duty, Bella, tended to us during our short wait, keeping us engaged and getting us seated just as soon as she could. The decor blends spartan industrial chic with dark wood accents that tempter what might be a cold environment, making it inviting and comfortable. Our server, Diego, got right to us, answered menu questions with good humor, and convinced the chef to make my wife a dinner-time dish when he discovered her first selection had run out. Bread service (on request) was artisan sourdough, hot from the oven, served with rich butter and a tiny mound of salt. Simple and very tasty. My wife's Cacio e Pepe was, by her estimation, the very best she's ever had. The al dente pasta was coated in a sharp Parmesan that was keenly offset by the sweetness of a Tomato Jam served on the side. A very well-balanced and satisfying bite. For my own part, the Quiche Lorraine was buttery and rich, and brimming with bacon and cheese. The lightly dressed salad alongside was a perfect foil, cutting the sharpness nicely.
