No chip manicures are $27 credit card / $25 cash
Pedicures are $22 CC (I think) / $20 cash
Underarm wax $15
It's located in a small shopping center so parking is a non-issue. The nail salon is quite large and there were a ton of technicians working. On the flip side, there were also a ton of patrons waiting to be served. I was greeted immediately when I walked in by a guy at the front station. He seemed cool, friendly, asked if it was my first visit and gave me the lay of the land. They keep a notebook on the counter to keep track of the customer order. He also pointed out that they keep the customer list with services provided because they guaranty 1 week on the no-chip, for example. I retorted with the fact that my no-chips typically last at least 2 weeks and my current set had been on for 3! I got him to smile but that was it... LOL. They had a good selection of no-chip colors which was great because sometimes I feel cheated or forced to pick xyz shade because that's all they had. The negative, which I will explain in more detail later, is that I had never, ever, ever heard of any of the "brands" of polish. I raised an eyebrow at that but was nevertheless willing to try out the experience.
So I narrowed it down 2 shades and walked to the back to match them with a regular polish for my pedicure. That's when I met Lan. Lan was soooooo sweet. She checked out my selection and was on a mission to find my match! She was on it! Back and forth she went. I just stood there like, word? This is great service. After a few minutes she found the exact shade to match one of the colors. I was sold. They had even labeled the color # from the no-chip polish with the match on the regular polish colors for this very purpose. Then... she noticed that I already had no chip polish on my nails so she started prepping me with the acetone on foil wrap. Excellent. Then... someone came back for an eyebrow wax and I learned that Lan was the "wax lady" too! She was my homey by that point, so I opted to kill time by getting an underarm wax. She used a chocolate wax and did a good job. Mind you my nails were wrapped in foil at this point, so she was really helpful in getting my shirt out of my arm and back without making a mess. LOL. We bonded! I noticed that not only does she do waxing and help customers here and there, she was basically did any other ad hoc work that's needed around the salon.
No clue how much time had passed at this point... a lot... but it wasn't bad because I was moving and shaking with Ms. Lan. When I emerged from the wax room, it was my turn at the pedi station! Yesssss! Lewis/Louis (who knows how he spells it LOL) was my technician for my nails. He did a good job in terms of service. He was friendly, although he did make one sideways comment and I wanted to check him at the time but I brushed it off. His station also had the UV light built into his desk. How cool is that? I had never seen that before.
The no-name polishes could never allow it to be a 5, but the great service from the guy at the front, Lan and Lewis, and the prices COULD have made it a 4. However, I now have an informed decision about my nails since I waited 1.5 weeks to write my review. Love the color. Hate the quality of the polish - for both the no-chip and regular. I have a small chip on 2 different nails and the surface of the nails look so distressed. A male friend even noticed the difference between my last set (that again, lasted 3 weeks from a spot in Atlanta (yes I reviewed them too!)). He was like... your last polish looked better (not the color, the polish... this coming from a dude who knows nothing about nails!). I didn't even ask for the feedback... homeboy just volunteered it like umm, did you go to the same place? UGH! Not cool. And my pedicure polish has faded and is chipped even more. My regular pedis usually last 2-3 weeks easy! Sheesh. I thought I found a hidden gem and really wanted to like this place more but unless I'm bringing my own OPI or Essie polish for them to use why bother? 4-star for service and price, 2-star for results and quality. I've certainly had better and the fact that I need to get both hands and feet re-done after just 1.5 weeks is unacceptable. I wanted to round up my 2.5 to a 3 but I can't, I just can't. read more
