Lady at the front desk was not kind and this ruined my experience. She greeted everyone that came after me but did not say a single word to me when I walked in. There was no other customers in front of me or behind me either. I had to wait for a nail tech to walk up in order to be greeted. I paid close attention afterwards hoping it was a misunderstanding but she made sure to greet everyone else in a very lively way. When I was done there was a short line for payment. When it was my turn, she did it again. Everyone ahead of me was communicated with - "ma'am, next in line", "how can I help you". When it was my turn again, she said nothing. I literally stood there assuming she was busy doing something else but I was wrong - when her coworker friend came up to desk she literally began a brand new and irrelevant conversation with her. Poor customer service from owner! My husband booked a massage and when he arrived the front desk apologized and said they double booked. They asked if he could wait or come back later. He said it would have to be another day. He booked on line so his card was charged. They gave him a gift card to use at a later date. He made multiple attempts but he was never able to schedule. Time did pass but there was no expiration on the actual card he had in his wallet. He booked a massage yesterday. They said the gift card expired and charged my card on file for his massage.This means we paid twice for his massage. I tried to explain this to the owner. She stood there and said it's on our website that gift cards expire in 1 year. I utilize this business for hair style, pedicure, facial, makeup, brows, massage. The employees I see are great at what they do. The owner is completely unaware of customer service! If she just reviewed my history there or cared about customer loyalty, she should upgrade her customer service practices and smarten up! They ask to keep your credit card on file so be aware they will charge your card if you do not cancel. Always check your receipt and credit card statement. My aesthetician was super nice, enough small talk to make me feel welcome but not so much as to overwhelm me (thanks Sami!) I have been going to OMG for about three years. It is within a block of where I live, so it is super convenient. Mostly things have been fine but there have been a few incidents worth noting, one of which happened today that has left me extremely hurt and misunderstood. A few weeks ago my toes were not dry and they were ruined when I left, so I went back to ask for a fix. There was a new worker at the front and she asked someone named Uni to fix my nails--who also appeared new. Uni complained to the front desk person that she had just fixed someone's nails and she didn't seem to want to fix my polish. She did but left it quite bumpy which I was willing to let slide except one toe that was particularly bumpy. I politely asked her to smooth it out. She said that it was not her job and that the woman who originally did my nails was busy. I felt extremely uncomfortable as I thought her response was unprofessional and rude. So, instead of confronting her, I simply went to the front desk and explained to them what was happening. That's the right thing to do, right? No? Instead of apologizing, the front desk worker looked poorly trained and like she did not know how to handle the sitaution. I asked her what she could do. A customer then approached me and said that I am rude and that I need to get my stuff and leave the salon. Excuse me? First, the worker said it is not her job to fix my nail, then a customer who didn't even have all the details, approached me (could be considered assault) and yelled at me and told me to leave. Of course I told the customer to mind her own business and to please stay out of it. However, no one at OMG did anything except for Baska as she knows me and offered to help me. She fixed my nails, I was extremely appreciative, I tipped her, and let it go. Today I showed up for a fill in and pedicure. The owner was there and watched me receive a $137 service; I left a $30.00 tip for Sheila as she did an amazing job. When I was almost out the front door, the owner approached me and asked to speak with me. I thought she was going to apologize for what happened the last time I was there. Instead, she asked me what happened, I told her, and instead of apologizing, she told me that no one at her salon likes to do my nails and that they all have a problem with me. I was shocked! Honestly, I have only complained a few times in three years and they were legitimate. I always tip well, people smile at me, speak to me, and are extremely friendly with me when I am there, so I thought I had a good relationship with everyone. I did not realize no one liked me. Even Uni who was extremely rude to me last time, we smiled and spoke today. So, I was shocked when the owner said that to me today. I am not sure why she shared that information with me other than to make me feel unwelcome. If she didn't want to provide services, she should have told me that immediately when I entered instead of taking more of my hard earned money. She could have kept the nasty comments that no one likes me to herself and I do not believe the owner's behavior was productive or professional. It was also extremely hurtful. Why didn't she (Chloe) tell me that BEFORE I received my service today as I saw her when I entered the salon? Instead, she watched me receive a service, then stopped me on my way out the door to explain to me that no one likes me, that the manager has been trying to get a hold of me, etc. I am completely shocked and hurt not only by the way I was treated last time but by the way the owner treated me today. Wonderful regular pedicure nails. Miwang is very talented. I showed her a photo, told her it didn't need to be exact & she did a beautiful job. 6 weeks later my nails still look Fabulous. The cleaning of the dry skin on my feet was ok. It could have been a bit better. But I was very pleased. I got the no chip nail manicure for the first time. They lasted about 10 days. I don't know if that's good or not as it's the first time for me. The front desk wasn't the friendliest. They didn't do a good job of explaining all the services. I probably would have gotten more. The spa pedicure did include a nice scrub of legs with warm towel. I did get a lovely shoulder massage. They don't seem to have warm wax as an option. read more

So, I have been coming to this nail salon for OVER five years. I come every two weeks for no-chip mani and reg pedi. I come FAITHFULLY every two weeks. This morning I had a pet emergency and could not make my appointment. I called FOUR times before someone finally called me back. I explained the situation and she told me the policy was to charge me, even with an emergency. I ALWAYS make my appointments and I'm not late. In fact, I've had to wait several times past my scheduled appointment, and I've never complained. Disappointed with my no chip manicure. Nail tech did a sloppy job cutting my cuticles. In addition, there's a gap of no nail polish between my cuticles and where the polish begins. This will make my nails look grown out and in need of a new manicure much sooner. She also didn't completely cover the edges of the nails. To top things off, the nail tech snapped at me when I first came in because I didn't understand her properly when she told me to choose a color from the very end of the room instead of choosing a color from the large wall of colors on the right. I thought she was telling me to come sit at the table at the very back when I'm done choosing a color. It was already hard to hear her through her mask and the background music. Anyways, she pointed out again the small table of colors on the back left corner of the room and I then realized what she was telling me. She showed frustration by saying "yeah I said it three times already" It's disappointing when you pay over $50 (including tip) to be treated like this. Not only was she rude but she didn't do a great job with my nails. I mentioned what happened to the lady at the front desk and she did apologize and asked if I wanted the nail tech to fill in the gaps between the cuticle and nail polish. I said no because I wasn't sure if that would end up looking worse than what I have now considering she applied several layers of polish and put it under the UV light in between each layer for no chip. Deluxe pedicures are nothing short of a great experience, quality of actual pedicure (and how long it lasts) is inconsistent. For the price, that's unacceptable. I've been a customer since 2019. They go through frequent management changes, decrease in customer service, even stopped offering wine but continue to increase the price. Still but it looks pedicures are so nice. I continue to come every few months for the experience. However, this last time I had to deal with poor customer service from a very rude front desk woman who is undoubtably racist. I think I can say for the first time that I will not be coming back. I have gotten better pedicures for cheaper in the South Loop neighborhood. read more

Nail technician was great, took her time and was very detail oriented. I'm taking off one star for the front desk, one star for the price, and one star for only accepting cash for tips. Front Desk wasn't friendly and I wasn't the only person who has no idea where the waiting area was. A couple of us were a bit aimless. I asked a technician who just sat me down at a workstation after walking me around a bit to see if the one chair they had was available. Once we got started I realized the technicians don't have assigned areas so the front desk should really be sitting the clients down in open stations. Also, for being a "spa", no water or beverages were offered. There were 2-3 ladies at any given time behind the front desk sometimes just on their phones or chit chatting, so it wasn't poor service due to being too busy. I'm used to extremely friendly and helpful front staff when I go to "nicer" places for my nails. And at least some water being offered. Secondly, I've never had a full set that did not include nail extension. By definition, a full set is nail extension. Apparently, not here. Extra $20 for nail extension for already expensive full set $85. Again, all would be fine if the service matched the price. Lastly, they do not accept tips on the card. You have to bring cash. Again, you'd think being an upscale place, they wouldn't be asking you to bring cash! They're obviously not prioritizing their nail techs who are actually really good! read more
