While this is not a relaxing massage, but more of a releasing massage/therapy treatment, I would for sure go back. All the staff is amazing. I had Andrew, and he was very good, knowledgeable, and professional. I recommend anyone with TMJ disorders or pain, receive this treatment. I only basically had half a treatment, and it made a great impact with much less pain. I definitely need to make another appointment soon. My only issue is that because of Lupus/RA, and pulmonary fibrosis, I get sick frequently, and unfortunately have to cancel plans. This place is a must see/must try for people with acute and chronic pain. I cannot say enough great things about Massage Bliss!

I'll start by sharing that me and friends stayed at the Kimpton Gray and knew we wanted to get massages during our stay. When we arrived, the front desk staff told us that Windy City Massage was an in-house spa and when we asked how to make an appointment she said very clearly, "they aren't associated with the Kimpton Gray, you can contact them directly for an appointment and more information." We should've taken that as a sign. The website is a little sketch, you have to pay when you book so we decided to call and leave a voicemail. When they called back, we scheduled for the next morning at 8am. Since it was a massage, we were fine with the early morning. When we arrived, the room was a large event space with a reception table and chair, and a few worn chairs and coffee table. There were two massage rooms off of the larger room so we assumed that's where the massage would take place. When the masseuses came out for us, they were super kind. We asked about the free upgrade with the Yelp check in and they said the only two available were foot or scalp massage so we each chose one. To make a long review short, the massage experience was not great. The acoustics were horrible so I could hear everything happening in the waiting area while in my massage. The massage was very basic; the foot massage "upgrade" was included in the 50 minutes versus the additional 20 minutes advertised; the music was playing from a cell phone; there was no carpet so the chair that the masseuse used was loudly dragged across the floor several times. Overall it was not at all a good or relaxing experience and not worth the cost. The Kimpton should to be associated with this business.

Shappell was very thorough during the massage. ***however, upon reflection and discussion w a massage therapist friend on mine, I have concerns re consent in the following instances. 1. She told me that she would leave the room for me to undress but did not. 2. She told me to undress to my comfort level, which for me was top and bottom underwear. She then promoted me to remove my bra. 3. She used cupping without asking me before hand or instructing me as to why. Cupping obviously leaves marks on my back which I did not anticipate having following my appointment. This hasn't been a part of deep tissue massages I've had in the past at other places and this was the first time I'd ever have it done. 4. She took pictures of my back after the cupping which I did not consent to her taking. I would not have known she did this had she not shown me afterwards. I hope she has since deleted them. Shappell seems lovely and clearly is a gifted massage therapist. However, I feel very uncomfortable with these aspects and hope they are addressed for future clients.

It wasn't the best massage I've ever had, but it also wasn't the worst. I did feel relaxed afterward, so that was a plus. A few things could have made the experience better. The noise level was a little distracting for me because I could hear street traffic, buses, and cars passing by. In my past massage experiences, the rooms were usually farther back or more quiet. Also, the bathroom sink could have been cleaner, and I was a little surprised that water wasn't offered after the massage, since that's something I'm used to at other places.
