The owner/front door man is THE rudest and lacks all forms of customer service. I received this service 3/28. This nail began to slide off as I put on my coat Sunday morning 3/31. The others are following suit. They offer free fixes on their no-chips within 7 days of service. It is not going to be worth my time nor has money to return. I'll take the "L" and move on. My pedicure is still hanging in. Whelp, the rest of the pink crew decided to join their first fallen soldier. They all came off Wednesday 4/3. Not even a week did they last...6 days. I've been going to Taday for years...Went on Sunday for a fill in with V French and was charged $65...the polish started peeling and fading on Monday night, literally a day later...I go back within the same week and show the guy at the front telling him I need a polish change because it started peeling and fading almost immediately...they charged me another $40 FOR A POLISH CHANGE that wasn't my fault. $105 in 7 days for French tips? This place is good just super busy. Twan is a really good nail tech. Fast and clean. John is also good. Only bad part is the wait. It is very busy and they do not make appointments but since I'm close I usually sign in and check in every 20 minutes. Got there early one morning and there was Aline before they opened. RUDE & RACIST!! I've been to Taday a few times, but today I seen their true colors! I came in to get a pedi & no chip. I grabbed 3 pinwheels. A young nail tech comes over & says "let me borrow this" and grabs one. Cool, I would assume that mean she's going to give it back when her customer was finished. Nope she then passes it to the tech next to her so her customer could look at it. When I was done with the other two that I had I passed them off. I then tell the tech, that I was waiting for the one that I gave to her. She replied rudely "ok I'll give it to you later". A few minutes go by & I noticed the colors are just sitting there. Both her & the tech next to her customers picked out their colors. However I was still waiting for the tech who took the colors from me to pass them back. So I say to her "can you give the colors back that you took from me". This rude ass girl told me "this is her customer (pointing to the girl who feet she was doing) why am I steady talking to her she's not my tech"...so at this point I'm annoyed because she talking to me like I'm not a paying customer. So I told my tech she could stop & I'm going to go somewhere else. This guy then comes from the back as if he was concerned to ask me what happened. He asked me in front of all the other customers because it was the "right thing to do"..the young nail tech started explaining the situation incorrectly. So I just put my shoes on. Before I left I walked up to the SAME guy who seemed concerned (we were away from customers) to tell him what happened. He then interrupt me w/an attitude & says "go tell twan"...I replied "I'm sorry I was only telling you because you seemed concerned"...he then says "yeah my bad go tell twan". At this point I just put my shoes on & walked out. I was disgusted. I'm so tired of businesses that make their money off of the BLACK community to think it's ok to treat us any type of way!..& it's because we allow them to. I will never go back there again. I'm sure my $60 wont hurt their business but I'll def spend it somewhere else that has better customer service. read more

Update 8/17- all of the nail techs aren't consistent. Some of them are amazing, usually the older staff. However, several new people do sloppy work. Because I don't come every two weeks I get new techs. It's very hit or miss which makes it hard to make this make Taday my go to spot. I started coming here a few years ago. I did, however, keep looking for other nail salons because I didn't like the nail polish brand names and it was always crowded. However, I must admit... this salon is the most consistent nail shop I've ever been to. My nails are always the shape and thickness I like (I get acrylic/gel overlay and they make them look realistic) and my nails always last over two weeks, which seems to be a rare thing. The 4 stars is due to how crowded they are and how long of a wait it can be, sometimes a couple of hours. But the polish brand names have improved and they consistently do a great job. Once I find the perfect day and time, this will be my main nail spot. read more

I live around the corner from this nail salon and it seemed pretty convenient to go to a salon nearby. However, the first time I went I provided a picture of what I wanted and I did not receive that. I asked for a natural light light pink gloss and he used a pink powder which was way off! I ended up paying 70+ for that and a standard pedicure. This was on a Saturday so by the time Thursday came, two nails broke doing non-strenuous things I let it go the first time. (Thinking maybe it's me ) My second visit was last week. Instead of my entire nail being polished one color, I asked for it to be polished into a v .. hard to explain. She pushed non -chip... that's fine. I ended up paying 86 dollars for my nails and pedicure. ‍ No designs, rhinestones, or any of that. .. okay.. One week later and three nail are broken. One nail broke exactly where the nail was placed before "gel". The other nail just casually popped off. The other nail cracked down the middle while making a wig... At this point, I will never go back nor recommend anyone. I don't need a refund, a discount, or an apology. I just simply won't spend my hard earned money with them. I'm looking for nail techs who use QUALITY PRODUCT and provide RESPECTFUL, HONEST, and PROFESSIONAL SERVICE! read more

This place is a dump! I wish that NO stars was a rating. The heat doesn't work (you know it's a problem when the entire staff wear coats from opening to closing) , it's filthy, and the polishes are so thinned out from all the thinner poured in them. I had a basic manicure that lasted all of 24 hours and would not recommend this place. The female manager that sit at the front desk is nothing more than a shyster! I get in the chair and they could only give me a gel fillin. They did not have the color I wanted and didn't have enough staff to do a polish change and a simple overlay on my two big toes. I wasted my entire Friday morning and am now having to find another shop on a busy Friday to get a pedicure. I will never return here and do not recommend that you take the risk of going. I've been coming here for years, it's been one of the only nail salons in the area that did decent work (not great, but decent). I settled here because I've tried numerous salons in the area and they were pretty horrible. There have been some EXCELLENT nail techs working here, but they never stay very long. As of right now, the only one there that does great, careful, lasting work is John (as it pertains to gels and acrylics). This place is great when you can get the only good nail tech, it's nightmarish if you get anyone else. For the last three visits, I've been either too busy to wait 2 hours for John or very kind, giving up my seat to someone who made an appointment (which they never seem to actually keep here) so they wouldn't have to wait nearly two hours past their appointment time for me to finish (I care more about patrons than the owner apparently). Since I've been allowing other nail techs to do my nails, the quality of my nails has been steadily deteriorating, getting thinner and more ragged around the edges (I wear nylons often so it'd be nice to be able to touch them without one of the many jagged edges of my nails to rip a hole in them). I haven't had this problem up until recently, because before I was willing an able to wait for John, but like I said I've been either busy or felt bad for the other customers... but techs here drill the entire nail, and only replace acrylic at the bottom (fill area) of the nail... Now, you don't have to be learned in any branches of advanced science to know that if you take away from something without replacing, eventually their will be nothing there... Let me just say: I am so happy this place is open! Because there aren't too many places like Taday in this part of Bronzeville, I had previously been braving the parking horrors in Hyde Park, the South Loop or even up north to get my nails done. Since this place is 5 blocks from my house, I no longer have to! The Bronzeville area is going through a vigorous revitalization. New businesses, buildings, condos and beautiful park areas are popping up everywhere. While I was in the salon, I had a great conversation with a gentleman about Bronzeville being the new up and coming area and how amazing it is to see all the change happening around the neighborhood. Taday Nails is definitely a testament to this continued change. First, the salon looks completely new inside, and the decor is really cute and spacious. There are 9 pedi stations and 9 mani stations, which is great because there are lots of spaces for everyone in the salon. I walked in about 15 minutes after opening and stated that I needed a pedicure. I was told to go pick a color and immediately seated at a pedicure station (they have an abundance of great nail colors, by the way). And let me tell you: the lady who did my pedi went to WORK. It had been about 3 weeks since I had a pedi, and as I'm sure you know, with walking around all summer in sandals, your feet can get rough. She got my nails, heels and the bottom of my feet baby smooth. The polish application was flawless. My feet look great! Finally, the prices here are awesome. $20 for a pedi, $30 for a mani/pedi and $12 for a mani. However, if you pay cash, they knock $2 off the price, so I ended up paying only $18 for my pedi. I posted a pic of their price menu so others can see what else they offer and what the cost is. Of course, they also do gel and acrylic, etc. I can't wait to come back for a mani and pedi and eventually a no-chip manicure. If you live in Bronzeville or the surrounding area and are looking for a great place to get your nails done, this place is it. Great addition to the neighborhood! UPDATE 6/5/15: Just so you guys know, they no longer do a cash discount on services; instead, if you pay cash, they will give you raffle tickets...I guess if you come here enough that would be something nice, but basically I can now just skip the trip to the ATM. read more
