    Coconut miso ramen
    Katarina R.

Cute, modern ramen spot tucked away in a small shopping center. The vibe is cozy and stylish without feeling cramped. I tried the coconut miso ramen -- super unique and absolutely delicious! You can really tell the ingredients are fresh. The staff is kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Only thing to note is that the food can take a bit to come out, but it's worth the wait for how fresh and flavorful everything is. Definitely a hidden gem I'd come back to!

This is my go to spot. I keep going back. Such friendly staff and everything is fresh and HOT.

A quick, reliable option. I ordered the Curry Chicken, which had chicken katsu, carrots, potatoes, and noodles. The noodles tasted fresh and not soggy. The veggies were chopped up into small squares, which made it easy to eat. The chicken katsu was good and still had a crunchy taste to it. The broth itself was not thick, which made it easier to actually sip. It's a small spot, so it would be hard to bring groups larger than four. The service was pretty quick, with one server and the chefs in the back. Would come back to try some of their rice bowls!

A good ramen spot in Fremont that has been here for years! Will you give it a chance? I have been going here for a couple years now. Every time the ramen craving hits, this place is convenient to go to. They are in a shopping plaza that isn't too busy so there is always plenty of parking. This restaurant is very small. Only have a couple of tables inside. They usually aren't very busy so we usually find a seat when we go. I usually order the black garlic ramen when I visit. I am usually the type to always order 1 thing if I like it. Too scared of not liking something if I try something else lol. This bowl always hits the spot. Flavorful broth, salty and fatty, noodles has a good chew to them, good chashu, and simple but good toppings. The broth i think is also tonkotsu due to the color and flavor with the added black garlic oil. Overall I would highly recommend it if you want some simple ramen and don't want to wait hours for it. Service is quick, prices are okay, and food is good.

The best ramen in the Union City / South Hayward area. We've been coming here for years and will continue to.

black garlic ramen- rich tonkatsu brother with black garlic oil was a banger miso ramen- great miso & deep with the bonito base (which was great) and its a hidden gem down the street from us, so we'll be trying out more items on the menu in the near future!! we learned that they've been here for 10+ years (I think) and we'll continue to support them and bring our friends over too :D

Tan Tan Spicy Ramen with pork belly (super dry)

This is not the same Japanese run Tadamasa as in the past. Looks like it has been sold and now run by a Chinese owner. The dead giveaways are the hand written sign of "Xiao Long Bao available" on the wall. It has been remodeled inside but with an eye of early 2000 look. We decided to give it a try anyways. We were one of two tables currently in the restaurant on a Friday night. Tan Tan Spicy Pork Belly Ramen - 1/5: The broth lacked in flavor depth that you expect from a good ramen spot. The pork belly was tough and dry, which I have never experienced with such a fatty piece of meat. Probably the first time in my life that I have not eaten all my meat. Noodles and the egg were fine, but that was it. Chicken katsu ramen 2/5: the chicken katsu was good, broth also lacked in flavor. It tasted very close to a cup o noodle instant broth. Noodles and egg were fine. Service was good mostly because we were the only ones in the restaurant for half of our dinner. Overall, I do not need to come back. I hope the new owners see this and improve on their offerings. I wish them the best as I hate to give struggling business owners a bad review.

Came with a party of three at opening on a Monday evening. Decor was somewhat reminiscent of Grandma's house, with clear plastic sheets lining each table. The restaurant was empty besides 1 other customer and staffed with 1 server, and our food took about 15 minutes to come out. Chicken Katsu Curry Ramen: only got this because I was curious, but at one of the highest price points on the menu, I expected more than what seemed like watered-down Golden Curry broth and a smattering of diced carrots and potatoes. Points for the fry on the katsu and chew on the noodles, but this was a real downer for me. Coconut Miso Ramen: novelty of the heavily sweet coconut broth lasted about three spoonfuls. Shrimp was fried well and one of the more notable parts of the entire meal. Tonkotsu Ramen: probably the best item of the night. Broth was sufficiently savory and pork had great tenderness and char. Definitely wasn't my cup of tea, but it might be yours.

    Curry chicken rice

Tucked away on a small strip mall. Small cozy restaurant, relatively clean. My daughter and I sat at one of their tables. Water and menu promptly given. We ordered the takoyaki, black garlic oil ramen and the cherry chicken rice. The takoyaki came out first and it was delicious. Crunchy outer layer and inside had a small piece of octopus in it. My curry chicken rice came out next and it was super flavorful. All the veggies were cut to the same size. It was very aromatic and had a nice kick to the curry. The black oil garlic ramen was very flavorful as well, we could smell the broth being prepared. The broth was tasty and the noodles were coated with the same garlicky goodness. Delicious and affordable, definitely a win in my book.

Super small shop and we tried the black garlic ramen, coconut miso, and tan tan ramen. Overall I would say the best one is the coconut miso ramen. It was unique and had a little bit of sweetness to it. I would skip the tan tan and the black garlic ramen. It was wayyy too salty (and I love salty things) but I could barely finish the broth. I like the thickness of the noodles but would try their other unique things next time.

Thai sweet chili ramen. Really good
    Frank L.

I've had this ramen spot a few times now over the years. They have two pretty unique ramens you wont find anywhere else, the coconut miso and Thai sweet chili ramen. The Thai sweet chili broth was really good. It reminds me of Tom yum but creamier and less sour. Noodles were nice and firm the way I like it. Finally the pork belly, loved that they charred it. The flavor was really good. Not the most tender I've ever but was def solid. The meat portion was also not bad. I counted 5 slices! Overall, really good ramen spot to check out. Would def come back if I was in the area.

What's vegan on the menu. I see mostly meat dishes?

Maybe the yakisoba and some of the appetizers? The batter for all the fried appies may contain eggs though. I wouldn't recommend this place to vegans. =)

If you look through the menu pictures there is an All Vegetable Ramen. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tadamasa-union-city-2?select=uvvuQyzGCEq7XcRUY-hFFw

Our Absolute Favorite Local Go-To Ramen Spot!…read more Love that this is a well-known spot both in California and Japan, and so lucky it's right here close to home--just a 10-minute drive! It's always busy, but when it's just the two of us on a weekday evening or weekend afternoon, it's usually pretty easy to grab a seat. I love that they have an online waitlist to keep the physical wait short, and that they even take reservations when you have a group. Tonight we were a party of six on a Friday night, and I was so glad I secured a 6:00 PM reservation a couple of days in advance! It was super busy. My parents were in town for a short visit from Vegas on their way to Elk Grove, so bringing them to one of our favorite ramen spots totally hit the spot. We started with the edamame and fried gyoza appetizers, which were fantastic. The yuzu cocktail was super refreshing, especially paired with ramen. My parents loved their creamy tonkotsu ramen with the crispy katsu served on the side. As for us, we went with our absolute go-to: the Spicy TanTan Ramen (Level 4 for me, Level 10 for babe!). We always enjoy the Spicy TanTan for its rich, creamy, flavorful broth, and love the spicy ground pork. This is a definite go-to whenever we're craving ramen and so happy to have it so close to home!

Serving dry quesadillas and heavy burritos without salsa is sad. Honestly, Taco Bell tastes better and at least gives you sauce. Completely disappointing experience, and we won't be coming back.

We started with the One Piece Mixed Salad (tofu skin, vermicelli noodles, woodear mushrooms, carrots, celery, seaweed, and peanuts, all mixed in a savory, acidic, and spicy dressed ) and the Shredded Potato Salad, both of which made for nice appetizers. We also had the Cold Skin Noodles (Liangpi), a bowl of wide, chewy noodles mixed with a savory sauce and topped with tofu puffs, shredded cucumber , bean sprouts, and a creamy sesame sauce. Hailing from Xi'an, the Braised Pork Pita Burger was fatty pieces of pork braised in a savory sauce, served in a dry round of "pita," but even better was the Spicy Cumin Lamb Pita Burger, which contained a tantalizingly spicy, flavorful filling of tender spiced lamb. The Signature Beef Bone Noodle Soup came with noodles in a simple broth, topped with three bone-in beef ribs. The meat on the ribs was rather tough and sinewy, and the soup on the bland side, but the presentation of the dish was definitely impressive. Finally, the House Special Braised Dry Noodle was a bowl of noodles topped with a savory sauce with lots of different dried ingredients including tofu, s mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and red bell peppers. For each noodle dish, you could select from a variety of noodles, but my favorite by far was the 2cm "General Wide" noodles, which had an amazing chewy texture. Overall, this was a great restaurant for authentic Northern Chinese noodle dishes and other eats. Everything came out from the kitchen in just minutes after we ordered. I love the el dente texture of the noodles giving it a bit of chew. My braised pork belly dry noodles was not dry... very watery which was not to my liking. I want my dry noodles with as little gravy as possible. The flavor was light despite all the gravy, but the veggies and one egg made it up. The house special dry noodles had just the right amount of gravy for taste but not enough ingredients. I was wondering why the restaurant is called One Piece... I guess the entire bowl of noodles is one piece noodle as it was hard to eat as all the noodles are tangled. No complaints here just need to be careful with the splashes on your shirt.
