I almost wish I hadn't found this truck because I'm gonna be here all the time now. This place has authentic "the real deal" street tacos. I don't care where you get your tacos, these are the ones. I'll warn you, you're asking for it if you eat the little roasted chili packaged with the radish and carrots. I get two steak tacos and two al pastor. Also tried the al pastor burrito and will be back for steak burrito. There's another tacos Sinaloa off or international in Oakland. That place has long lines in a pretty bad area. I really like Tacos Sinaloa. Food: * Tacos are really good, and they're made quickly. It takes about 15 minutes at most. * Not super cheap but far from expensive, about $2.50 a taco. Three to four tacos is probably enough for a meal. * I typically get the steak tacos and the pastor. I think the pastor tacos are a little bit more flavorful. They're both really good - probably some of the best tacos you can get in the area. Environment: * At this price point, you can't ask for much, but they do a good job of keeping the tables clean. * You can typically find seating here. * This is clearly an excellent location All in all, Tacos Sinaloa is a great option if you're looking for really good tacos - not necessarily a great place to sit down and eat. If you have less than 100 people, catering comes with rice/beans, chips with guac/salsa, and Aguas frescas. You have the option of choosing 5 meat options for tacos. I have never had a bad meal or service at this delicious local staple. We always get a ton of tacos so that we have extra for the next day for carnitas tostadas in our air fryer + a runny egg on top. One of my favorite places in Berkeley to grab food. This spot is always fast, delicious and reasonably priced! The service is great and they're always super patient. The seating is limited, however I usually see people order to go. I always grab an al pastor burrito to go. Their servings are huge and I can split that into 2 meals. The meat is nicely seasoned and isn't dry. The meat is always juicy, which makes the burrito even better. They aren't cheap with their fillings, so it ends up being a hefty burrito. They also ask if you want any carrots/limes/sides too! Whenever I crave horchata, I also make sure to grab one here. It's a large cup for a good price. Most importantly this Michelin Guide recommended spot, frys their carnitas, which makes this quite the crispy, tasty delight! While the Berkeley spot closes at 7 sometimes, the Oakland location off of International is thankfully open until 1AM. In terms of other meats on the menu you're interested in the carnitas of beef, try the Suadero or "Rose Meat" from them! I wasn't sure what to expect from this specialty meat, but the spices and taste were definitely delicious and not nearly out there as you might expect! For those curious, Rose Meat is frequently used for ground beef. Overall 5/5 burritos and 5/5 beers for the drunchies on the hunt for a delicious late night burrito! The famed Taqueria Sinaloa Fruitvale trucks are where I take friends from out of town when they come visit me in the East Bay and now I can walk there five minutes from my apartment. This is likely the most dangerous thing for my health to possibly happen. Also it's just as good as the truck. Carnitas to die for. Pastor is ok but get the carnitas. The suadero is bomb too. Also get tacos here, not burritos. The burritos are ok, but the tacos are as good as anywhere in LA. The prices are slightly higher than the trucks (but only by like 25 cents). I wasn't actually sure what day they opened and as i walked by with my bike i freaked out, ran to lock it, and ran to the line, cutting two guys getting there contemporaneously. Taco Sinaloa has been my favorite Mexican food spots since they first opened a few years back. Food: My ultimate favorite thing on the menu would be the carnitas tacos. The carnitas have a very satisfying crunch and just the perfect amount of juice that compliments every bite. I'm usually not a fan of onions or salsa but what they serve is so flavorful! It's slightly spicy and pairs well with Tapatio. Their fish tacos are crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. If you aren't a fan of red meat then this is a definite must-try! I've also had their carne asada which falls on the more traditional scale of tacos, but still good for the Berkeley area! If you're in the mood for a burrito, then their carne asada one is my go-to. It's creamy, warm, and the tortilla isn't dry at all. Price & Portions: Very affordable! Everything on the menu is around and below $10. For just $2.00, you can experience an authentic, fresh, and delicious taco. They're extremely generous with the amount of meat served on each taco, and the tortillas are warmed up to perfection! This is a place where you can get legit street tacos. My brother and I had their beef and chicken tacos, $2.00 each. My mom had their beef tongue tostada and my other brother ordered one of their huge shrimp burritos with everything in it. This place is small, like the many other eateries in Berkeley, and it could also get pretty crowded so make sure you grab a seat when it's available! No sour cream or extras in the tacos which is perfectly fine because the flavor is amazing! I love the sauce they put on top; no need for extra spicy sauce. My brother's shrimp burrito was sooo good. The shrimp inside were big! Not the cheap small kind. You need to get that when you're starving because it's very filling. My mom was happy with her tostada because it was piled high with meat. Everything was served on paper plates so the plates kind of got soggy towards the end. Finally, good Mexican food in Berkeley. At first I was skeptical due to the cheesy shrimp mascot but I came for a late lunch and I was blown away by the juicy tacos and the refreshing agua fresca pineapple flavoured. I bought two carne Asada tacos, one pastor or spicy pork taco, and one shrimp taco. So good. The shrimps were plump, buttery, and juicy and they certainly didn't skimp on the taco fillings in any of the tacos. The pastor tacos were juicy from the marinade and it was sloppy and very spicy-- not as good as establos down in Camarillo, but still quite good. My least favourite was the carne asada taco since it was a little dry, but it was seasoned well. They were generous in giving jalapeños and radishes and limes as extras which are great to top your dinner off. Also, there is a drink called agua fresca, a type of juice made from puréed fruit and water. I had pineapple and it was sweet and refreshing. Customer service was on point-- helpful and nice. Not a bad spot for cheap tacos when the craving strikes you. Walking around Berkeley wanted something cheap and simple and this place hit the spot. Their street taco options are cheap starting at $2 and for that price they were pretty good. On my visit got the asada/steak, carnitas/pork, and camaron/shrimp tacos. The shrimp was meh, kinda on the small side nothing too interesting. The asada was a little better then the shrimp, not too dry with a good balance of flavor with the salsa. My favorite though was the carnitas, the pork is shredded and fried/crisped up just right that its got a hint of crunch but remains juicy. Not a bad option for street tacos at all. With a wide selection of meats, 2-3 bucks a pop is really good for that Mexican flavor. I'm a big fan of tripe tacos, so I was super excited to see Tripitas on the menu. Even better, I got to watch the main man at the grill cook it fresh using a metal press on the flattop - so I knew it was be super tender on the taco. They oiled up some corn tortillas from a bag, doubled them up and loaded the plate at the ready. Besides that I've had the chorizo, pastor and asada. I think the chorizo was also fresh from the flattop, but the latter two were scooped at the counter. Totally fine, because the steam table kept it super hot! What I loved and didn't about the taco was the same for all. The meat itself is super kickass and flavorful. The downsides is that I found the tacos extremely oily compared to other similar places, and personally I'm not a fan of the thicker corn tortillas. #TeamFlour. Kind of sad since Tacos are in the name, I expect them to be a solid flagship. A little disappointed, but maybe there's hope in the other dishes, since I saw them use flour tortillas for burritos. After coming here many times for good tacos and quick service, a recent visit finally made me feel worse leaving. The long line on a Tuesday was expected, but the very awkward and non-understanding service made the visit with friends very bad. If you don't know, on Tuesdays, it's buy 4 tacos, get one free. A friend of mine got 7 tacos (what a champ) and after looking at his receipt, paid for every single one. He talked to the cashier who then talked very confusing with him and "got him 1 more taco" to make it a total of 10 (8 paid tacos + 2 free tacos if you follow the deal). After looking at the receipt once more, the cashier straight up just charged 3 more tacos, making him pay for each individual taco ($20+ for 10 tacos). Facing his realization that the cashier is not understanding anything at all, we went to go pick up our orders. When we asked for a bit more of toppings since we were taking it to go, the lady looked at the three full tubs of toppings and then back at us as if we were telling her to empty it all onto our to-go bags. Whenever I buy tacos from a taco truck, my biggest problem is not having a place to sit down comfortably and eat it. And usually by the time I get home with my tacos, they're not as warm anymore. Tacos Sinaloa in Berkeley solves this problem for me, without having a price spike for being in an actual location. Tacos are just as cheap as the trucks itself, 2-2.50 each (cheaper than a few that I've been to), and the quality is just as fantastic. I came here for a quick snack so I only ordered two tripe tacos. For those who don't know what that is, it's a taco filled with intestines, which I swear taste much better than it sounds. It's actually my 2nd fav type of taco (next to tacos chicharrones). They made the tripe super crispy and with a smoky flavor, which is exactly the way I like it. They also do not skimp on the meat here. I highly recommend the tripe taco to anyone who is feeling a bit risky and want to try something new. The meat was seasoned perfectly with absolutely no skimping whilst maintaining a great rice/bean/other ratio. It was a little oily but nothing out of the norm. The Jamaica agua Fresca was perfectly balanced as well with just the right amount of tartness and sweetness. Salsa were great and super fresh as well! They were also very generous with the escabeche. Oh... and you definitely get a lot of food for your money (at least burrito-wise). I wish there was more salsa selection, but I get things may be more limited at the moment. Asking for salsa gets you a mini side container. The fish taco is diced seasoned fish rather than a fried piece, and it was flavorful. This one got very soggy very quickly so make sure to wolf em down! This is a great place! I've already been here twice. Once by myself and once with a friend because I had to share the delicious food. Because this is a small joint that is a quick counter order, I'll keep things short. There isn't much to say about the venue besides it's small and has limited seating, so be prepared if you want to eat there. The staff seem friendly. But let's talk about the good! In my years at Berkeley so far I've thoroughly enjoyed grabbing lunches and dinners at Tacos Sinaloa. Even when there's a line that extends beyond the inside of the store, I've personally found the wait worth it over other similar options along Telegraph Avenue. I generally try to avoid eating pork but Tacos Sinaloa's carnitas tacos are a personal MUST. It makes me feel a little guilty after (as I stick to fish + poultry as much as I am able to) but the carnitas tacos really are SO tasty. Personally, I wouldn't recommend the chicken tacos as they lack flavor relative to the carnitas, and I can't speak to the beef options as I avoid red meat as well, though my friends have mentioned being a fan of their steak tacos. The tacos here are very reasonably priced at $2/taco, and they offer garnishes for the tacos upon picking them up from the side counter. My friend recently suggested I try the pickled carrots and I wasn't disappointed! I'm a huge guacamole fan so I've always asked for guac on top of my tacos but the past four visits, an employee has informed me AFTER I paid that they do not have guac prepared and that they can instead put avocado slices on my tacos. I've always settled with this because it still adds the right level of freshness I desire but this can also be rather frustrating. Nonetheless, I'm still a big fan. Honestly quite a bummer that I couldn't use my birthday promo (-$2) with the Taco Tuesday deals. (Haha #collegestudent) 2. The free three tacos after 10 qualifying visits is only up to $6 value, so be ready to pay for the difference 2. You can ask them to cut the burritos in half! I usually finish the burritos on my own/in one sitting, but I've found cutting them into halves makes sharing/saving some for later much easier. While that is a given, the workers here tend to cut the foil (wrapping the burrito) in half then wraps it again with another foil to keep the burrito warm. Best tacos in Berkeley, hands down!!! Sinaloa's tacos are authentic and well-made. Their meat is perfectly seasoned and often spicy, and pairs great with the typical onion and cilantros in their tacos. Tacos look small, about the size of my palm, but don't let that fool you - Sinaloa piles on the meat and I'm usually full after two tacos. Prices are reasonable: $2-$2.50 for a taco, which is a welcome change from a lot of the Bay Area's pseudo-authentic $4-$5 tacos. Sinaloa also has burritos, priced around $7-$8, as well as lots of veggie options. Sinaloa has limited seating, probably about 15 stools in total. There are always long lines around lunch and dinner time, but they move quickly. I'd recommend calling 15 min ahead and placing an order in case you're on a time crunch. Otherwise, I've never waited longer at Sinaloa past 10 min, even when the line was out the door. The employees are great! The cashiers are nice and more than happy to answer any questions you may have. When they call out your order, they ask you if you want any sliced radishes, jalapenos, lemon/lime, and carrots. On this particular visit, I ended up getting a strawberry lemon paleta, which seems to be a new offering. Paletas are $2.50 each, and they come in flavors like oreo, strawberries and cream, and cucumber. The paleta I got was pretty tasty, and I'm glad I tried it, but I wouldn't order again!
