Ate there on opening day; had chicken mono, veggie mono, and a mango lassi. The food was great, came out fast and was delicious. They gave us a free cup of chai too. Very happy to have them in the neighborhood.

Momo is really good, jhol is not. No newari flavor in either.

We had a great time there with friends. There was no tent but the weather was nice and the heat lamps did the job. The staff seemed friendly, courteous and plenty of smiles at the counter. 5/5 so far. Food is where we had to try really really hard to appreciate the business all the way. We found more of a generic Nepali/Indian restaurant flavor that is available at any location we can find around the Bay Area. There was no flavors that would speak itself as a newari dish. Being newars ourselves from different parts of Nepal, our group had high hopes to finally find a place to claim as our new joint but seems the search is still on. 2/5 is being generous. The quality is there for a food truck but flavors not quite. Momo was good but jhol brought it down. We will stopby again as the business is new so we wish you the best of luck and hope to see you improve.

Newari Kitchen delivers on its name with fast service, friendly staff, and legit flavors. I absolutely love their khuwa Yomari. The outdoor seating is a nice touch, and the covered space is just as inviting. If you're after authentic Newari food, this place is the real deal.

Amazing food I love the paneer momo. The setup is pretty cool for a food truck. The folks serving were nice too.

However I decided to go ahead and place an order. The employees aren't that friendly at first, I didn't even get a hello walking up and took them over five minutes to greet me when I was the only person at the truck. When I was finally asked if I was ready to order, employees were nice. I sat while waiting for my order because they have a cute eating area if you wanted to sit and enjoy your food there. They have two picnic tables under heat lamps with a few wine barrels for standing. Nice little set up. Food was hot and surprisingly delicious. Full of flavor, saucy and fresh... the reason why my food took over 15 to receive. It was totally ok with me that I waited so long because it was that good and so worth it. The momos were good and the sauces that came with everything was also great. The spicy red sauce definitely has a kick! Location is a bit strange, it's in a parking lot with a small eating area. The employees brought out games for the area to use, such as cornhole and jenga. Everyone who worked there was super nice and talked to us about the food and Nepal. Food was brought out to us at our table which was a bit unexpected for a food truck. Price and quantity was typical for a food truck. With the service and delicious food this is a must stop if you're in El Cerrito or driving through the area as we were going up to Tahoe. I have also seen them pop up elsewhere around the bay but this seems like a permanent spot for them. Overall: 4.7/5

Located next to the Peppermint Tree Plaza, MOMOlicious offers authentic Nepali bites in casual fashion. I appreciated the menu explaining what a mo mo is, the type of fillings offered, and different mo mo menu options. We ordered the Ultimate Jhol Mo:mo (steamed momo) served in a classic soup made from sesame seeds, tomato, cilantro, and soybean. We chose chicken. We also ordered the Nepali Chowmein with chicken as well. Loved the unique flavors, the textures, and exploration of this culinary cuisine. The owner came over and chatted with us about the menu and future of the space. Earlier in the day they brought mini ponies for the kiddos to ride! Very much looking forward to bringing our friends back here as the weather is getting better for corn hole and outdoor entertainment. Also looking forward to exploring more of the menu, meats, and other mo mo options (maybe the crispy version next time) and mango lassi. You can really feel the love made in the food here and excitement for what's to come ~ congratulations on your new opening in EC!

Personally, I enjoyed the chow mein way more-it was super flavorful and had a unique twist compared to other chow meins I've had. The momos were decent, but the chicken had a bit too much of a clove flavor for my taste, and I wish the sauce had a little more punch to it. Service was solid! Everything is made fresh, so it took a little longer than expected, but they've got a game area in front of the truck, so we passed the time playing cornhole, which was a nice touch for some fun ambiance. The only downside is the parking-it's a bit tight and street parking can be tough, especially on weekends. I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu. The chow mein alone is worth a return trip!

To be fair, it's probably not their fault -- I just got back from LA, where even random taco spots seem to serve incredible tacos. At this point I'm starting to wonder: are tacos in the Bay Area like pizza in California? Is there something in the water that makes it impossible for someone in the Bay to make a truly great taco, while in Los Angeles you can pull up to a random stand and have one of the best tacos of your life? Nothing against Emiliano's, but their tacos tasted about the same as every other taco spot around here -- truck or no truck.

On Friday we decided to give it a try. Honestly we both were hoping to order the Chicken Fried Rice but unfortunately they were completely sold out. So we opted for the Cajun Chicken tenders and fries as well as the Mango Habanero chicken wings and fries. It took about 25 minutes for our order to be completed. We were extremely pressed for time so we literally grabbed our food and left. In hindsight the time was extremely reasonable as that's how long it takes for your food to be prepared. In other words our food was made to order and not previously prepared. Let me just say the Mango Habanero wings were delicious! They were generously sauced with the right about of crispness. I found them to be flavorful and abundant. My order came with about 10 wings, fries and sauce. The sauces did not come with a lid, I was t too thrilled about that. As for the tenders, they were large, well seasoned with a dry rub, crispy and juicy. It's two days later and I am STILL thinking about my food which is a great sign. If you're in a rush, it will take a while for your food to be prepared and because the food is excellent know you will have to stand in quite a line. I would highly recommend if you enjoy chicken as there are several options to choose from. I most definitely will be returning!

FYI, I noticed Zomsa now serves hard alcohol for those wanting a little extra kick! We've also ordered momos here before and the chowmein. Everything is extremely solid, fresh, flavorful, and just overall, comforting. To note, several veggie/vegan options here, shrimp dishes, and also for meat eaters: chicken, pork, buffalo, goat, beef, lamb. Service is typically always quick and efficient, and you can tell there is a lot of heart and soul in their cooking. A few seating options outside. The menu seems to be expanding since our last visit, so that's exciting to see. Pricing is fair and parking available in the shopping center.
