About a 45 minute drive from Davidson but not bad. The atmosphere is much like a Lodge with wood paneling and animal heads over the doorway a the entrance. Looked like one Elk and couple of Deer and considering the time of year, all had Santa hats on. Dropped my wife off at the door since it was raining and found a good parking spot. That was about 11:30 prior to the local Church Crowd hitting which was good because the place filled up quickly shortly after 12 noon. Very nice server and they have other wait staff in addition who go around and make sure that your glasses and cups are full and you're not wanting for anything. Good menu, particularly the seafood part. We both started with the Salad Bar which was good not not outstanding. A lot of good selections but could have been more. On the positive note, they did keep it constantly stocked, each time putting out just enough to insure freshness. More labor that way but it does pay off in quality. For her entree my wife ordered Filet Mignon Tips with Sweet Potatoes and Texas Toast. I had one of the Sunday Lunch Specials which was two 8oz Pork Chops, Fried Okra and Mac and Cheese. My wife liked her Filet Mignon Tips. Good and flavorful and nice and moist. Sweet Potatoes were good as well. The Pork Chops were perfect. Not over cooked and still had plenty of moisture and full of flavor. Okra was a bit overcooked but the Mac and Cheese was excellent. Obviously a local favorite because the server and staff knew many of the customers by first name and knew their habits. A good hometown place to go. I't probably 7 -10 minutes off of Exit 14 on I-85 but worth the trip. Be aware of the hours however. Only open for Lunch on Sunday and not later. During the week, generally only open in the evenings so check the times accordingly.
