At one point I loved this restaurant, mainly when it was located in Aker's Center, but over the years it's changed. The food quality has dropped, mediocre at best. The service has dropped in quality. And the overall feeling in the restaurant just feels like there's nothing to it. There's no experience left. This place is 100% awesome, we stopped for lunch. 1st time visiting we just seen the sign and we were hungry. Mexican buffet was amazing my wife got the eat in plate however I just had surgery so I can not eat a lot at one time. They let me fill a to go box from the buffet. The food is really good, the server was new however very good. It was around 130 so lunch rush was over it was nice a quite. The place is older however it was very clean. The buffet was $12.99. Then him telling his 15 ish daughter and her friend 'The reason the service is bad is cause she's at the tables with all the men trying to get some D***.' This was the closest thing around that wasn't fast food, so I got off on the interstate and when pulling into this place it was very empty and hardly had people and it was lunch time (1:30pm) We arrived and get greeted by the host/waitress. Very friendly staff and quick and easy. We got the buffet which was $12 a person plus drink separate. The food was 2/5 at best.. it was cold and hardly at room temperature. The only thing good was the appetizer which was chips and salsa.. but I highly doubt it was made from scratch.. it had to be pre-prepared salsa because compared to the other foods they served at the buffet it was no where near as good. Chicken was stringy and dry. Rice barely had any taste and it was cold to the touch. I do NOT recommend anyone come here. I had to chase down a waitress because the drink my partner got had wayyy too much sugar and had to get a normal Coke. If you decide to go here anyways after reading this review you have been warned. Also do NOT go to the bathroom because the toilet does not flush AT ALL!! read more

This place was not good at all and I've tried it twice now. I got the nachos supreme but just asked for beef cause I wanted to sour cream and lettuce with it. It came out with beef, beans, and chicken after I had just asked for beef. But the worst part was how runny it was. It was like nacho soup. My fiancé got a fajita salad and his was soupy as well. I had high expectations of this restaurant as I've visited the second location numerous times and loved it until an incident with the manager has kept me from going back.(See review on Los Arcos #2) And from reviews since my last visit, she seems to be running that beautiful location into the ground. It's sad because it has alot of potential. This location is nothing like the one next to Eastland Mall. The beer special was good--$1 tecate and heinken But other than that, nothing special. My server must have been brand new and was 16 so she couldn't serve me my beer, nor could give me any recommendations on what to eat on the menu. Menus were dirty and old. Friday night at 6pm and my husband and I are going out on FIRST DATE in over a year , and to make it even MORE of a big deal..!?..- My friend Kristina is on her first real date ever as in her whole life! As in we are double dating and she's never actually had a man ask her on a real formal date before and it's their first time meeting so you get the picture?! OK so how about we walk in los Arcos on Friday night at 6pm and My friend and her date stay outside finishing their cigarettes while my husband and I are seated... we tell The waitress there are four of us in the party and get seated , with four menus... We're walking to our booth we notice that there are only two couples in the entire restaurant and both booths already have their food and are in the middle of eating, so there's basically no one in the entire restaurant... She seats us and asks if we would like any drinks and my husband orders a Sprite and I tell her I'm going to wait until the other two in our party make it in there. So she leaves... We spend about 10 minutes looking over the menu just deciding what we're going to get before the other to join us... So then all four of us sit there another 10 to 15 minutes just making small talk while they look at the menu to decide what they want ...now this is a Mexican restaurant right?? So nachos and salsa should've been at the table pretty much from the beginning with the drinks , Only my husband hasn't even gotten his Sprite ! So now we've been sitting there 25 minutes Anything to drink, no nachos no salsa in fact nobody's ever come back to even acknowledge us. It's been close to 30 minutes now and naturally we're all upset so my husband actually gets up and walks up to the counter and the front of the restaurant and you can clearly hear him telling the woman that we've been there 30 minutes that nobody's coming to even ask us if we need a drinks or brought us anything and could we get somebody to please come wait on us and we clearly hear her tell him that she's the only one there and then when she's done doing the other things she's busy doing she'll get to us and not in a very nice tone in fact I looked up at my friend and said wow she just totally disrespected my husband and blew him off like told him get lost I'll get to you when I get to you! My husband says so you basically telling me that we just need to leave and she said I'm telling you that I'm the only one here and I'll get you when I'm done doing what I'm doing which by the way folks was taking telephone orders over the phone!!!!! I may not be a rocket scientist but I do know that people sitting in your restaurant to eat are the people that are going to leave you a tip, not the people that you're taking telephone orders for that are gonna walk in and pick up their food and leave without giving you a penny! Needless to say when he got back to the table all four of us got up and left !!!!! So if you want to be disrespected, ignored, talk to you like you're nobody and they're doing you a favor by even letting you walk in and this is a place for you to go! after our meal, my husband posted on Facebook that he was nominating Los Arcos for the best bargain lunch in the USA! I was looking for a place for lunch on our way to the Charlotte Airport, and this place turned out to be perfect: cheap but tasty food, fast service, only a minute from the exit off I-85. Our entire meal came to just over $10: 2 beers (Tecate and Heinecken were both on special for $1), one plate with refried beans, a beef taco and a chicken enchilada, and the other plate with chicken fajitas and refried beans. The vegetables were fresh and cooked al dente. Our water glasses were kept full by our attentive waitress. Along with our orders came all-you-can-eat chips and salsa (free). I was intrigued by the fact that Los Arcos had a buffet for lunch...you don't see many mexican lunch buffets. I came by myself, the place was hopping with a lot of guys you could tell were work buddies but I was still seated immediately and had water and chips waiting when I got back from perusing the buffet. All of the staff were working their butts off, especially Carlos who was my server. The buffet had everything you would think a mexican buffet should have- build your own tacos, taco salads, fajitas, enchiladas, plus some extras: chilaquiles (!), watermelon, some good looking sauces/salsas. I was surprised that the buffet didn't have soggy overly oiled food...but they were replacing empty pans constantly so there were a lot of fresh options. Hey Amigos if you're looking for some tasty Mexican fare then you've found the right spot. This place is really good and such a surprise to find how large of a space it is in person. Apparently Sunday is when you should experience the buffet but watch out for the after church crowds as I hear they tend to be large so it's a busy time. The food is great and the service is too. Love this place, the buffet stays fresh and is served up on the weekends. It gets crazy busy with the after church crowds on Sunday which make ordering the buffet a little annoying for the anti social folks like me. Consistently good if not standard mexican fare. Their chicken is really good. They cook it with tomatoes and onions and it's always seasoned just right. They have good food... don't get me wrong. They always make sure that you have fresh chips and salsa on your table and their quesadillas are to die for. BUT. I came here and got a chicken and cheese quesadilla and it came out without chicken so I politely asked for my server to take it back to the kitchen (I loved him up until this point). Once I gave it back to him he tried to tell me that I was wrong and he finally took it back to the kitchen. We were seated right away but people after us weren't so lucky as they were stacked up outside. They had a Mexican buffet and a large menu with many items on it. The only selection my poor wife had was a quesadilla because she hates onions. I chose the buffet and was not impressed with the what they had available. Enchiladas with ground beef and onions, taquitos with chicken and onion, ground beef and onion tacos, Mexican rice with onions, fried okra, French fries, refried beans (surprisingly with no onions), some quesadillas, and all the accoutrements that come along with Mexican food such as salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese. They also had sopas for dessert. Overall the food was mediocre at best. The cost for the buffet for one and a quesadilla for my wife and two diet cokes came to a little over $15. We weren't rushed or anything but with the amount of people there they did run out of plates. The waiter was attentive to our needs as much as he could be; I never had an empty cup.
