My favorite Mexican spot since 2021. The environment is cozy, they're usually playing sports on the televisions which is nice as a sports fan. The servers are always incredible. Friendly and patient with admirable work ethic. The food itself is the best Mexican cuisine I've ever tasted in my life. Their menu options are very versatile, there's something for everyone, even for picky eaters or those who don't like venturing out to try new things they're not used to. I visited this restaurant for the first time on 04/20/2023 after craving Mexican food. I went as soon as they opened and it had a strong smell of fabuloso so I felt that it was clean. My waiter wasn't too friendly at first but I made conversation with him and I can tell it changed his mood :) I ordered the smothered veggie burrito with a margarita. The margarita was a 7/10. The food was a 10/10! I received nachos and salsa (1mild &1hot) as an appetizer too. My food came within 10 minutes. My waiter checked on me throughout my meal. My only recommendation for this place is to replace the seats because my seat was severely ripped and it snagged on to my clothes. Other than that, I enjoyed my meal. read more

The food was okay, nothing special,but the employees definitely need some sort of improvement. Our server told my table she would give us a minute when we were ordering and we assumed that would be about five minutes at the latest. Apparently that meant 20+ minutes. Our server also took a very long time to get us our check, and we couldn't even find any other employees to possibly get it at the time. As we were looking for our server, we see she is behind the bar on her phone for a solid 10 minutes. Besides that experience, I lost a very important ring at the restaurant and when I called and asked if they could look for it (I told them where we were sitting, which booth etc), the girl on the phone basically looked over her shoulder and then back to the phone and said they couldn't find it and hung up. Wish the Ambiance was better it's pretty dated in there definitely needs a few upgrades. There always seem to be things you ordered and for missing. So you have to leave your food at home and try and go back to simply get what you purchased. There are many many Mexican restaurants near me. I thought to order from Tequila, I ordered and paid for an order, many things were missing. So I drove back to request I receive what I paid for, as the food I have a home just got cold. I think my family and I will be customers of a different local restaurant. My Husband and children went to Tequilas tonight for dinner, which we do quite often. My daughter found a black hair in her food (both of my children are blonde and husband has no hair). I understand things happen, not a big deal. They remade her food and brought it home. I opened the box when they got home and as they are telling me the story, I found another black hair in the remake. Before they left my husband told the server they charged him for the kid's meal drinks. The server questioned my children's ages and when my husband responded, the server responded "are you sure?" Now he is questioning the honesty of my husband. We frequent the restaurant very often and the server has waited on us multiple times before. But who questions the age of someone's children? I just LOVE Tequila! I went for lunch almost every week when I was living in Gastonia. Take out service was super quick and prices are reasonable. Staff is very efficient and friendly. During COVID, they have installed plexiglass barriers and spaced out the restaurant to allow for social distancing and capacity limits. All staff were wearing masks correctly. I felt very safe. Ive been going to tequilas for a few months the food isn't bad it is ok priced but what i experienced with service last week was unacceptable and i wont be back. Our waitress was too busy flirting w the other server to acknowledge we were sat in her section. She finally approached our table for our drink order, 15 minutes later we look toward the bar area cause we still didn't have our drinks to see her and the waiter guy w the glasses flirting and touching inappropriately behind the bar not even making our drinks yet. This went on the whole time we were there, it was insane that they were more worried about eachother than there customers. Not to mention the long hair we had in our food that was obviusly our waitresses and gross. She didnt smile and wasnt friendly to us once. but was smiling and being friendly to her male coworker. Suggestion, hire new staff that take care of their customers instead of flirting with eachother behind the bar. read more

I called and told the employee about the problem and she had an attitude and Said I could drive back there to pick it up! I said it was to far to drive! I thought the food here was fantastic. We came for our anniversary dinner on a Monday. They had house margaritas for under $4. We had those, and then switched to the fresh lime margarita. The fresh lime ones were fantastic! House was good too for the price. We started with chips and salsa (didn't get queso but will try it next time). That was all delicious. Our service was great. I couldn't decide on what to eat so I ordered enchiladas verdes and a fish taco. The enchilada sauce was so so good. I'm going to ask for pork instead of chicken next time, just because I prefer pork. The beans and rice were great. The best thing was the fish taco. I could eat so many of those. My husband ordered the special chile relleno dish with shrimp. It was also great but it was a pretty small serving for the cost (one chile and about 5 small shrimp on top). This place is truly hit or miss. On some occasions I've had excellent service and food, and on others I've had the complete opposite. When it's good, it's really good. We've had excellent wait staff in the past, but I've come to find that it truly depends on who you get as your server. While one waiter might be attentive and quick paced, another might all but ignore you. I went this past weekend and the latter was unfortunately my experience. I do believe the waiter was busy (although, to be fair, the restaurant certainly wasn't overwhelmed with guests at this point), but it took him 15 minutes to take our drink order - we almost got up and left. From there, there was an extended period of time in between requests and his checking on us. We would go without refills and requests (i.e. we didn't have tortillas for our fajitas) for several minutes. When he was attentive, he was kind though. As for food, this is also hit or miss. I routinely get the chicken fajitas and I swear it depends on who's cooking that night as to whether or not they're going to be good. I've had them before where they are excellent (which is probably why I continue to order them); they are hot and fresh and flavored so well. I've also had them before where they were cold and over cooked and overall disappointing. Last thing I'll say, be prepared to wait FOREVER for to go orders. I ordered before I left the house and even gave them an extra few minutes on top of when they said it would be ready. When I arrived, it was a solid 20 MINUTES before someone would go grab it for me. This is partially because you have to pick it up from the bar and that person is usually also making drinks....so you're just standing there....waiting. They don't prioritize their to-go customers at all. Two other people were waiting with me and someone finally said, "before you do anything else, can you please go grab our food, we've been waiting a really long time." That was fairly frustrating. Nonetheless, I will continue to visit Tequila's because more often than not we leave pleased. It's good food for cheap. read more

Was in the area and looking for some Mexican food to go, figured I would give this place a shot. Ordered a fish burrito online and picked it up about 10 minutes later. It was ready when I got there, along with a big bag of warm tortilla chips (not salty which is good, and the salsa was great!). The burrito was surprisingly good, and it cost about the same as a burrito at Chipotle would, only much better and without the food poisoning!
